Gu Jihu carried Gu Jin to her room, his steps light and careful.

He glanced down at her sleeping face. Her breathing was soft and steady, her usual cold expression gone. She looked peaceful, like a child who finally found a safe place to rest.

Mrs. Gu followed behind, holding the blanket.

As soon as Gu Jihu placed Gu Jin on the bed, Mrs. Gu gently covered her with the blanket and tucked her in. She sat on the edge of the bed, brushing Gu Jin’s hair away from her face.

Gu Jihu sighed but didn’t argue. He just hoped this so-called fiancé wouldn’t be too annoying.

"He asked us to meet tonight. However, he has made a strange request."

"However you might not know but she has consulted some of the psychiatrists, in the past 4 years. The psychiatrist has diagnosed that her situation is eventually worsening and maybe..she will one day lose all of her emotions."

Long Yifan’s voice was calm but serious.

"The psychiatrist said that if this continues, she will stop feeling anything—happiness, sadness, anger—everything. She will become completely indifferent to the world, even to the people she loves."

Gu Jihu’s heart tightened. His sister, who already barely smiled, would one day not care about anything at all.

"Then what do we do?" Mr. Gu finally spoke, his voice deep and steady, but there was worry in his eyes.

Long Yifan hesitated for a second before answering.

"Only you can invoke emotions out of her. If possible please give her a lot of love and stay with her. Keep her away from all the things that make her sad."

Mrs. Gu’s eyes softened, but there was still doubt in her voice. "Of course, we love Jin. But... how can we help her if she won’t open up to us?"

Long Yifan’s fingers tapped lightly on the table.

"She will. In fact...only you all cure her."
