Chapter 625: Siren powers

’Do you think you are capable of holding us in? Do you believe we belong here? Why are you so persistent? You can’t keep us,’ Elliana heard a voice, making her look around the white haze with a confused expression.

The ambiguity of the space around her made it clear to her that she was in a dream, or probably in her subconscious mind space.

’Who are you? What do you want to say?’ Elliana asked calmly, not looking around.

If there was a person who really wanted to talk to her, that person would appear in front of her on its own.

’Who are we? We are the powers locked inside you. The powers who will take your life once we are out,’ The siren powers said.

Elliana was surprised.

This was the first time the siren powers contacted her in her entire life of staying inside her. She didn’t know they were capable of that.

Then again, if they were capable of taking the life of their host, they were probably capable of everything.

’So why have you contacted me today? To threaten me and tell me how I am so weak against you, and that you will kill me as soon as the time comes because that’s how you are going to repay me?’ Elliana asked.

There was silence on the other side for some time before they asked again.

’Do you think we are ungrateful? We never belonged to you,’ the siren powers said, unsure themselves because that’s not how they perceived the situation.

Elliana smiled. She sat in the place she was standing, not looking at anything in particular.

’Ungrateful isn’t how I would describe you. I am grateful to you for letting me live for so long, but then again, you better than anyone know what kind of life I lived and am living,’ She paused before looking at her hands, sadness brewing in her heart.

’Now that I found my family, I wanted to live a little longer, probably provide my husband with a gift that he could cherish and care for the rest of his life, thinking it’s my part,’ Elliana’s eyes brimmed with tears that she quickly blinked away.

The siren powers felt guilty. Even though they knew it wasn’t their fault, they felt it.

’So what do you have in mind? It’s not something that we can control. The destruction is caused by our enigma aura and vibrations,’ The siren powers said.

Elliana nodded.

’I don’t blame you for that. I know what’s coming for me. It would’ve been good if I had found any kind of solution. I really don’t want to die, but then again death is not something we can control. However, I just hope that before I go, I can provide a peaceful life to my dear ones and end this power battle for once and all,’ Elliana whispered.

The siren powers looked at the girl who had such a pure heart and was so accepting of her fate that they didn’t know what to say or do at the moment.

They just sighed. They had really thought they would come and threaten her into leaving all the hopes of keeping them inside her if there were any. But what were they supposed to say to a girl who was saying she was grateful to them even when she knew they were bringing destruction into her life?

The strong urge to caress her head took over them before they cleared the haze around Elliana’s head, not wanting to appear forgiving.

Elliana blinked her eyes, opening them softly, and the first thing she saw was the face of her husband, who was looking at her. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom

Judging from his form, it was clear he returned not long ago and she furrowed her brows at his displeased expression.

"Mr. Mari-" She paused when she finally recognized the look in his eyes.

It was his beast in control.

"Come here," she sat on the bed, but the man kept looking at her, not moving from his place.

Without a delay, she used her magic and pulled him onto the bed, forcing him down before she crawled to him and climbed his lap to hug him, wrapping her hands around his torso.

None of them said anything for some time.

He was worried or troubled about something, Elliana could feel it. She didn’t need him to say everything to her.

She let him calm down in his embrace while she continued patting his back gently.

"I don’t know what is troubling you so much, Mr. Marino, but I promise you things will be alright. I am here. Don’t worry about anything and everything. As long as we are together, nothing can harm us," She whispered sweet-nothings in his ears.

"I feel like I have failed," Sebastian finally blinked his eyes as he wrapped his hands around her tightly, making her eyes brim with tears at the sadness in his voice.

"I failed to protect you. Despite my efforts to keep you safe, you get into trouble again and again. Now that we have finally caught the culprit, I failed to get him the punishment he deserves. Nothing is going right. I promised you I would love you, make your life a living heaven, and never let you down, but I am not able to do anything," he whispered, and a rogue tear filled Elliana’s eyes that she quickly wiped.

It wasn’t right. She needed to be strong for one person who had always acted like her pillar since they met.

Elliana took a deep breath before gently pulling away from him, enough to look at his face.

She removed the mask from his face softly before cupping his cheeks and looking directly into his eyes.

It was clear to her that whatever had happened was related to Prince Angelo and how the royals dealt with the situation.

"What happened? Who bullied my husband? Tell me the names and I shall burn them in the fire of hell," Elliana said, and a sad chuckle escaped Sebastian’s mouth before he stuffed his face in the crook of her neck.

"Are you telling me you will burn my family with the fire of hell?" He asked, and Elliana cleared her throat.

"Well, let their evil vibes burn in the fire of hell," She quickly changed her words, making him sigh.

"Can I keep hugging you for some time?" He asked.

"I don’t understand why that is even a question," Elliana whispered, and Sebastian sighed before hugging her tighter.

"Well, I thought you would be awkward because your dad is watching us," he said, and Elliana, on instinct, turned her head towards the balcony where her father was indeed sitting with his back to them.

She felt embarrassed slightly, but her husband’s comfort was more important to her than her embarrassment at the moment.

"Dad-" she said.

"I have to go and talk to someone who will be able to help us locate Azrael and give you all the Magna you might need. You guys... Be with each other. You need it," King Eros said without turning around as he vanished into thin air.

Both of them went silent for some time.

The only noise in the room was of them breathing heavily in each other’s ears as their desire for each other started to surface and take over their sadness and displeasure with the world around them.

After some time, Sebastian moved a little to ease their position to get more comfortable, his face shifting from her neck to her chest, making the girl sigh.

"Can you tell me what exactly the family said or what happened there?" Elliana asked.

He didn’t move from his place and kept breathing in her scent, making her feel funny as her body started to tingle with his fingers that were playing with her dress, trying to rub her skin.

"Mr. Marino, I am serious. Tell me what exactly happened in the royal Kingdom," Elliana said, trying to push him away, but could she really move him away from her when he was hugging her so tightly?

"I don’t want to talk about it. I just hate everything at the moment. You are my only hope, Cara. Tell me that you will never leave me in this world alone ever. You are the only one I got, Cara. Tell me you will keep holding my hand. I need them. All those words you used to say, you haven’t said them for so long," Sebastian whispered softly, his lips moving against her skin.

However, rather than blushing like she would’ve usually done, she felt her heart skipping a beat from the slight ache she felt.

Her mind went back to what those siren powers said to her. Her eyes immediately became moist and she took a shaky breath.

"I will be by your side and comfort you, loving you with all I have till my last breath," Elliana said, closing her eyes, making her tears fall on Sebastian’s head, who clenched his hold on her arms, knowing all too well what she was talking about.
