The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride-Chapter 612: Call Ella too
Chapter 612: Call Ella too
After controlling her emotions and deciding it was the right time to return to the black skull palace so she wouldn’t break down again, Elliana walked back to the palace, her gaze meeting with Mr. Marino as soon as she entered.
She smiled, but he walked to her before picking her in his arms as he hugged her tight.
"Where did you go without informing anyone?" Sebastian whispered in her ears, tightening his hands around her body, and Elliana bit her bottom lip to keep her feelings from escaping her hold.
He was acting like this just because she left for some time. What will he do when she is gone forever? Elliana wondered before she pulled away slightly and looked into his eyes.
She cupped his cheeks before rising on her tiptoes and kissing the corner of his mouth affectionately.
"Your sister is expecting a child," She said to change the topic for both of them.
She smiled when she noticed the mixture of emotions in his eyes.
"She called you?" He asked, and Elliana nodded.
"They will get their marriage certificates tomorrow and hold a small ceremony the day after tomorrow. Go with me?" She asked, and Sebastian nodded.
"Did she say anything about inviting the family?" Sebastian asked, but seeing the hesitancy in her eyes, he knew the answer already.
"That’s okay. It’s not like my family isn’t at fault here," Sebastian said before he cupped her cheeks so that she wouldn’t avert her gaze from him.
"Now tell me why were you crying earlier," he asked, and Elliana froze in her place.
How could he tell? She had even washed her face to remove any hints of tears or moistness from her eyes.
"What are you talking about? Crying? When?" Elliana asked, and Sebastian sighed.
"Baby, I think we promised each other no more secret policy," Sebastian said as he kept looking at her, waiting for her answer.
Elliana shifted her gaze from his eyes to his neck and was about to answer when his phone vibrated, making them look at his pocket.
Sebastian pulled his phone out and quirked his brows when he noticed it was the call from brother Stephano.
"It better be important," he said, and Stephano rolled his eyes.
"I know you want to spend some time with your wife. Don’t worry. I know not to call you unless it’s something important," Stephano said before he looked at his secretary, who walked to him and placed the documents on the table.
"You can leave," Stephano said, and the vampire subordinate immediately left.
"So what exactly is it?" Sebastian asked.
"Well, it’s about the dead wolves we found in the forest. Didn’t I tell you about it?" Stephano asked, and Sebastian hummed.
"What about it?" Sebastian asked as he walked to the couch of the living room with his wife and sat down, playing with her hair.
"It looks like the human rogues and some packs tried to convince Alpha Zeus to allow them to stay at his grounds. Since the Red Moon pack is closest to us and one of the most powerful packs with the largest grounds in terms of forests, it would’ve been really beneficial for them. However, Alpha Zeus denied their cooperation," Stephano said.
Sebastian knew all this already, but he didn’t interrupt his brother and let him continue.
"So the humans and some alphas collectively made this plan. They killed those wolves of the Red Moon pack to make the alpha believe that it was the work of the vampires. That was the reason Alpha Zeus retaliated like that. Also, there are indeed some vampires who are illegally supplying those scent-hiding sprays to the humans and wolves who need them at ten times the rate," Stephano paused to let his brother digest the news, and Sebastian massaged his forehead.
It was exactly what he had thought about.
The humans were trying to instigate a fight between the Red Moon pack and the vampires, but the main question was, were they really trying to get their hands on Elliana or him?
And if his brother was an accomplice in any of these plottings.
But the most important question was, how the hell did those humans know what kind of smell would make his wife weak to that level? It wasn’t possible until a witch was involved, not to mention their weapons.
"Look into all the suppliers of the black market. I will send my team. Princess Elliana will get into contact with Marcello for the same. We should stop this chain of scent-hiding sprays first because it is making it hard for the vampires to detect the humans roaming the kingdom. Anything else?" Sebastian asked.
"Scarlet has been pestering me. She is saying that since she can’t help physically by battling in those fights, she wants to at least be able to help us politically," Stephano said.
"I want you to look into her," Sebastian said without hesitation, his choice of words surprising Stephano.
"Brother, what are you proposing? Do you think she is a suspect just because she wants to help? Don’t you think you are being a bit too-"
"I didn’t say anything related to her willingly being the culprit. Scarlet has a family away from us too. I want you to look into her family and see if anyone is threatened by anyone. These humans and werewolves can resort to anything," Sebastian twisted his words to calm his brother, and Stephano hummed.
"Okay. In that case, I will have someone check her background and everything," Stephano said.
Elliana, who could clearly see what her husband was trying to do, shook her head before sighing and placing her head on his chest, making him immediately look down.
"You do remember that you have to come to the party tomorrow. I am not taking no for an answer. We are not celebrating it extravagantly, keeping everything in mind. It would be just our family," Stephano paused.
He took a deep breath, contemplating how to say those words.
"What is it?" Sebastian asked when he sensed his hesitancy.
"I... Can you ask Princess Elliana to call Ella? Earlier, we didn’t know our sister was alive, and thus, we never cared about it, but now that we know she is here in the same kingdom as us, it would be great if she could join us. Mom Freya would appreciate it. She doesn’t say anything to anyone, but she hasn’t been holding very positively. Maybe Ella’s presence would make a difference?" Stephano suggested.
Sebastian immediately looked at Elliana for her permission. As much as he wanted to give Stephano an affirming answer, he wanted to ask his wife first because. After all, at the end of the day, the only person that their sister listens to is Elliana.
She wasn’t their sister Ella anymore. She was Elliana’s Glow.
"Will you be able to call her to the party?" Sebastian asked her.
Elliana didn’t answer for a few seconds.
"If Prince Stephano really wants to invite her, he should make an effort and go to their place. Invite her personally. She is a person and not my subordinate that I can order. The most I can do is go with him, but that’s it. It would be up to Glow if she wants to come or not," Elliana said.
Sebastian understood where the girl was coming from. It was clear his wife wanted to establish their sister’s lost respect in the kingdom. And he supported her decision.
"I understand. If you are feeling okay, will it be alright if I come to pick you up in an hour?" Stephano asked, and Elliana looked at Sebastian, who didn’t have the best expression in the world.
A subtle smile appeared on her face, and she nodded at him.
"Fine," Sebastian immediately ended the call before looking at his wife helplessly.
He was about to ask her what made her cry earlier once again when Elliana beat him to it and asked another question. ƒreewebɳovel.com
"Those witches who have arrived at the sight of the battle with humans, where did they go? Did they try to contact you again? Especially the one who said she would handle things," she asked.
Sebastian remembered what witches his wife was talking about, and his brows furrowed when he recalled the face of that particular witch, the same question resurfacing in his mind.
"About those witches, do you know the girl who was talking to us?" Sebastian asked.
"What’s the matter?" Elliana asked, her eyes drooping as she didn’t even like talking about her, let alone thinking about her.
"I don’t know, but that girl strangely looked familiar. I don’t know if it was just me, but she looked similar to witch Arizona. It might be because I have seen the witch only once, but ... It was strange," Sebastian said, and Elliana nodded.
Of course, he would figure things out so soon. He wasn’t a king for nothing.
"You didn’t answer my question. Where are those witches?" Elliana asked again, and Sebastian told her they made them stay in the royal cottage because they wanted her to wake up first before confronting them or talking about anything.
Elliana nodded in understanding.
"Are you free now?" She asked out of the blue.
"Yes, what is it?" He asked.
"I didn’t want to do it since my mother has found her husband only now, but this is a matter that we can’t ignore either. Let me call the witches in the royal cottage. It’s high time she meets another daughter of hers," Elliana said, her words surprising Sebastian.
Another daughter?
