The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride-Chapter 550: Safety spell
Chapter 550: Safety spell
"Why would a trident mark appear on my daughter’s skin? What’s going on?" Azura asked while Sebastian looked at his wife, unsure.
"What does a trident mark mean? And why is it related to my wife’s life?" Sebastian asked no one in particular.
Nathaniel sighed.
"Let’s hear what Misha has to say first rather than giving our speculations," He whispered, finally understanding why his powers weren’t binding with Elliana’s soul and why the final stage wasn’t complete.
The blue flame-like energy around his heart, which was probably trying to protect him, everything started making sense to him.
Misha nodded at Nathaniel’s words and looked at Azura since she was someone who would have the hardest time believing it.
"It all began around nineteen years ago when King Eros and Arizona had come to me to seek advice on how to keep your daughter alive.
Since I knew the art of reincarnation and rebirth, bringing back a soul to life, they wondered if I could help them with it. At that time, I was already going through those betrayals from my own family," Misha took a deep breath and started to tell them the story that led to what was happening today.
After King Eros and Arizona asked her for suggestions, she had put forward her own advice about sharing her powers, more like locking them inside the baby and keeping her alive for eighteen years until the siren queen was reincarnated and ready to take back her powers.
Since the reincarnation of a soul whose death was decided was impossible, this method seemed like the most plausible of all to keep Elliana alive.
After much thinking for a few days, King Eros agreed with the idea with the thought that they would figure something to keep their baby alive after the eighteen years were complete.
However, who would’ve thought that Arizona was just betraying him in the end, and every witch in the world would come to know that the siren queen’s powers were locked inside Elliana?
"So does that mean since the eighteen years are over, Elliana’s life is in danger?" Sasha asked the question that everyone had in mind.
But something didn’t match with the story.
If it was only about keeping her powers safe and them being the only thing keeping Elliana alive, the powers were still inside her, no? Even the ninth and tenth locks were yet to come undone. So why did that Trident mark appear out of nowhere?
"It’s not just that. When locking the powers inside Elliana, at that time, I didn’t completely trust King Eros and Arizona that they would get ready to return my power and risk the life of the baby after eighteen years," Misha whispered, ashamed of her words.
Everyone waited for Misha to come to the hardest part of it.
Elliana sighed. She could see that Misha was having a hard time speaking, and that’s why she spoke.
"That’s why you put a safety spell or something like that on me. Because of this, I will automatically die if the powers aren’t shifted back to you after a limited duration," Elliana said, and when Misha didn’t say anything to rebuke her statement, Elliana continued.
"However, it should’ve happened when I turned 18, but it didn’t.
Since you were reincarnated and you didn’t have any idea how long it would take for you to find me, you probably out the time to one hour after I turn eighteen, which means this trident sign is a warning or probably an ultimatum for me to give these energies back to you," Elliana whispered, her voice growing low as realization dawned upon her.
She was indeed dying.
"Your nineteenth birthday is approaching. That would be the final day," Misha finally said, pressing her lips into a thin line.
She had completely forgotten about this part of the spell when she told Elliana that the girl could keep the powers and use them for once.
Sebastian, who has been staying quiet since the story started, looked at the girl in front of him, his heart clenching painfully.
’No. There was no way someone was taking our wife away. If it was all about giving the powers to the siren queen, we would kill this girl and -’ His beast started talking inside him.
Sebastian sighed. He was too emotional and worried about his wife’s health to deal with his beast.
’This spell is going to affect Elliana either way whether this siren lives or dies. Didn’t you hear? She probably thought about it all when she placed this safety spell,’ Sebastian told his beast who immediately shut up.
Everyone waited for Elliana to say something, and show any kind of emotions or reaction, but she just stood from her place and took a deep breath.
"I think I need some alone time. Don’t touch Misha," She warned and turned around before leaving the head base.
Azura stood from her place, wanting to go and tell her daughter that she would find a way and wouldn’t let her die, but Nathaniel held her hand and shook his head at her.
"You don’t know her enough. Right now, she doesn’t need any kind of consolation from you. She just wants some time to take out her emotions and curse her life and everything around her. Once she calms down we will go to her," Nathaniel whispered.
Azura’s eyes brimmed with tears.
"She can’t die, Nath. I just found her. I can’t lose her so soon," She clenched her fists.
"My daughter needs us," She whispered.
She can’t even fathom what her daughter was going through. It was almost like her daughter had some deep connection with miseries and Azura was ashamed that it was all because of her sisters.
"I know. Let’s give her 10 minutes to deal with her emotions before going to her," Nathaniel said.
Azura nodded before she turned around and walked to the other side of the head base, needing some alone time herself.
Misha looked at everyone and how she turned their life into a mess.
"I am sorry. I had no intention to hurt Elliana like this. Believe me. I would never hurt her after knowing everything. At that time I didn’t think much," Misha’s eyes brimmed with tears as she looked at all the girls who looked at her with neutral expressions.
It was almost as if they did not want to interact with her anymore and she was an enemy in their eyes.
She did not blame them.
If it had been anyone else in her place and she was on the other side, she would’ve probably reacted like this, but she still wanted them to know that nothing she did nineteen years ago was intentional.
At that time she had no idea she would have this kind of bonding with Elliana. If she wasn’t a siren queen, and it wasn’t about protecting her legacy, she would’ve probably never even asked Elliana to bother with giving the powers back to her whether she used them or not.
"I think we all need some time to get used to what you said, Misha. We are sorry," Sasha whispered.
Everyone turned around and left to the other side, leaving the girl crying on the ground with her thoughts.
"Wait. Please don’t go. Please believe me. I am sorry. I had no intention of hurting Elliana. She is my boss too. Though I came with a motive in mind, I never deceived the care and my emotions," A sob left Misha’s mouth as she saw no one believing her.
Nathaniel, who was the only one left near her, looked at the siren queen who was breaking for something that wasn’t even her fault and sighed.
He walked to her before crouching down and placing his hand on her back.
"Don’t cry. We all know it’s not your fault. Just like you didn’t know whether King Eros would betray you or not, and they didn’t know things would turn out like this in the end, you had no idea you would bond with Elliana either.
I am sure Elliana doesn’t blame you either. She just wants to have some time to come to terms with the truth," Nathaniel whispered as he caressed her back and Misha nodded before she turned and hugged Nathaniel, crying in his arms, making the guy sigh.
