Chapter 73: Chapter 73- Anger

Despite the surprise attack, Sol reacted quickly and dodge the small blade.

However, Ha-Eun had incorporated his Wudang Sect’s Eight Trigrams Palm technique into his blade skills.

No doubt he was a genius.

Sol was caught off guard by the sudden change in direction of his blade, and with a ’Pitua’ it manage to pierce his chest.

Immediately, shock exclamations came from the crowd.

Mar-Dule who was below the stage erupted into anger and went to leap onto the stage, however, the green robe disciples stopped him from doing so.

The academy was really strict on its rules, especially when it came to fights in the Martial Hall Pagoda.

Even being expelled wasn’t out of the question if one interfere with a life-and-death match.

However, the only thing that truly stopped Mar-Dule from leaping onto the stage was that Sol was still alright.

He had shifted his body slightly so the blade had only pierced his shoulder and not his heart.

If Sol had not copied the Eight Trigrams Palm Technique he would not have been able to perform such a miracle and he would have been dead.

Sol gripped Ha-Eun’s hand that was holding the blade.

His face was filled with rage as he raised his other hand and balled it into a fist. One could even hear his knuckles crack as he did this.

All this while, Sol was holding back nearly his entire strength. But now, he was planning to put his full strength into this punch.

If this connected with Ha-Eun’s face without protection, his entire head would probably burst into a gory mess for all to see. But Sol didn’t care, his first instinct was to kill if someone tried to kill him.

However, just as his fist was about to destroy Ha-Eun’s head like a watermelon, he saw that Ha-Eun was crying and he paused.

"I-I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I didn’t have a choice."

Sol could hear Ha-Eun’s mutters.

"Brother Sol, if I don’t kill you then me and my family will be killed. Please, let me kill you. Please brother Sol, I don’t want my family to die. You’re only one person but my entire family might die, please Brother Sol."

Ha-Eun seemed to completely break down like he was holding back all his emotions until now.

Sol’s anger immediately faded and it felt like a bucket of cold water had poured over his head.

"I..."

Sol couldn’t finish his words as he didn’t know what to say.

His brain immediately tried to find a solution to this problem, but Ha-Eun suddenly took this opportunity to viciously drag his blade out of his shoulder.

Sol grunted, but he regained his senses to grab Ha-Eun’s wrist before he could stab him in the neck next.

With a loud crack, Sol broke Ha-Eun’s wrist.

Ha-Eun cried out and fell to his knees to clutch his wrist.

However, he immediately began sobbing uncontrollably.

It was filled with pain and anguish.

It wasn’t because of his wrist, but because he had failed to kill Sol.

Ha-Eun raised his head and glared at Sol with so much hatred it was indescribable.

Sol remained silent and said nothing.

He didn’t know what to say.

No, what could he say in this situation?

Suddenly, someone leaped up onto the stage.

It was a burly youth, however, he wasn’t from the Barbarian Pavilion. From his purples robes, one can see that he was from the Divine Beast Pavilion.

Ha-Eun at the same time got up and disappeared into the crowd.

Everyone felt that the situation that just occurred was extremely strange.

But the burly youth didn’t seem to acknowledge the attempt at Sol’s life as he cupped his fist and said.

"Brother Sol, my name is Jung-Sook and I am sixth on the Mortal Arena Rankings. I’d like to battle Brother Sol as someone who has climbed the Heavenly Staircase."

Hearing this, someone from the crowd yelled.

"Brother Sol, don’t fight him fight me! I’m fourth on the Mortal Rankings!"

"Oh my god! That’s Brother Do-Yun!!"

Someone in the crowd recognized the person who yelled and cried out in shock.

"No, don’t fight them fight me, I’m third on the Rankings!"

"Ah! Brother Ji-Min wants to challenge Brother Sol as well!"

"Bah! So what if you two are higher on the Rankings? Everyone knows that the top ten on the Mortal Arena Rankings aren’t that different in strength!"

The crowd was in an uproar.

These people were well-known figures, but they were fighting to have a chance to battle Sol.

Because of this, the crowd placed the incident that just occurred at the back of their minds.

Sol who was still a little rattled breathe in and out to calm his nerves. The wound on his chest was already beginning to heal.

He was currently twelfth on the Mortal Rankings, so he just needed to enter the top ten and he could fight to enter the Earth Arena.

Seeing that people were so eager to battle him because he had climbed the Heavenly Staircase, Sol welcomed it.

"Brother Jung-Sook, I’ll accept your challenge."

It didn’t really matter who he fought out of them, as long as they were in the top ten.

Jung-Sook hearing this stopped arguing with the two other youths and laughed out loud.

"Brother Sol, then accept my match."

Jung-Sook took out his Disciple Token and requested a match with Sol.

Sol took out his own Disciple Token and accepted the match.

However, just after accepting the match, his pupils constricted as he realize the request sent by Jung-Sook was a death match.

At the same time Sol accepted the match, Jung-Sook’s demeanor suddenly shifted and he dashed towards Sol.

Immediately, a saber appeared in his hands and his Innate Dharma in the illusory form of a bear appeared and then overlap with his figure. Strong killing intent wafted from him as he slashed down at Sol.

Sol dodge the attack and looked at Jung-Sook with a serious expression.

"Who is making you do this, is it Geon-Soo?"

Jung-Sook’s expression didn’t change as he rushed forward while saying.

"I don’t have a choice, so I hope Brother Sol can forgive me."

Swoosh!

Swoosh!

Swoosh!

Jung-Sook saber released terrifying wind gales as he attacked Sol.

The crowd seeing this realized this wasn’t an ordinary match, Jung-Sook was trying to kill Sol.

While being attacked, Sol clenched his teeth and didn’t retaliate.

"Is Geon-Soo forcing you to do this by holding your family hostage?"

Jung-Sook paused at that, then to Sol’s confusion he released a loud laugh.

"What are you saying? There’s no other reason why I’m doing this other than to get the bounty on your head!"

Jung-Sook then rushed towards Sol once again, his killing intent surging even more.

Sol was even more confused at this.

"What about the person from before, his family had been-"

"Ha! Is that what he said? He must have been desperate to kill you and get that bounty to say such ominous things."

Sol felt his mind freeze when he heard that before something slowly rose in his heart.

Anger.
