The Growth of a Titan-Chapter 468- Yoon-jae’s Dance
Chapter 468: Chapter 468- Yoon-jae’s Dance
"Why is that?"
Yoon-jae asked, and Mai-ning responded.
"Because if the older disciples of the Holy Sects and Great Clans who have likely already entered the Spiritual Realm were to participate, they might completely suppress those disciples from the smaller Sects and Clans. If that were to happen those smaller Sects and Clans would obtain absolutely nothing inside the Shadow Dimension, so they’ve been joining together to protest. But even though they’re weak, their numbers aren’t to be underestimated, so the Holy Sects and Great Clans can only concede."
Upon hearing this, Yoon-jae figured this made sense, one could say this was the delayed backlash for the Martial Alliance Academy’s decision to have both Mortal Realm and Spiritual Realm disciples participate together. And everyone knows the Academy is an extension of the Holy Sects and Great Clans. It was no surprise the smaller Sects and Clans’ protests were aimed at them.
However, if someone with a sharp insight were to look at this situation closely, then they would notice that the smaller Sects and Clans have already given up. At most their protest would do is decrease the number of Spiritual Realm cultivators within this tournament. But even at the age of seventeen and below there are still Spiritual Realm cultivators from the Holy Sects and Great Clans.
But perhaps the only good thing that came from their protest is that at the very least this has increased their disciples’ chances of obtaining treasures inside the Land of Shadows. In essence, they were planning to use share numbers to their advantage while the Holy Sects and Great Clans were relying on quality.
"I suppose Senior Sister Mai-ning won’t be participating?"
Mai-ning paused at Yoon-jae’s question before surprisingly shaking her head.
"I will participate, since among my Tang Clan I am the best in this generation. Unlike some of the other Holy Sects and Great Clans like your Kunlun Sect, we don’t have multiple geniuses that can compete in this generation."
Yoon-jae nodded in understanding. Afterward, Mai-ning suddenly turned to the crowd of disciples and said.
"Are you friends with those two? Their dance was strange, but it was fun to watch."
Yoon-ah suddenly perked up.
"Right, it was so captivating I find myself being invested in the outcome without realizing it. It’s even almost as good as your dance Little Jae!"
Yoon-jae had already given up on getting his sister off of him. When he heard her words, he merely grunted in agreement.
But as if an idea suddenly hit her, Yoon-ah’s eyes brightened. Lowering her mouth close to Yoon-jae’s ear she whispered something to him.
Yoon-jae’s face twitched at her words and he immediately refused angrily.
"No! Absolutely not! Get off me this instance!"
Yoon-jae went back to trying to get Yoon-ah off his back. However, she clung to him and said pleadingly.
"Little Jae, just this once, I won’t ask for you to do it anymore after this can’t you dance just this once? You’ve already learned how to so why let it go to waste?"
"No! That’s what you always say, and who was it that tricked me into learning those girly dances in the first place?! You said that it was normal for boys to learn them! You even had me perform in front of father-Ugh! That dinner afterward is something I’ll never forget; I’ve never seen Father so silent."
Yoon-jae was already shuddering just thinking back to that time. But Yoon-ah didn’t give up.
"Nonsense, Father was so moved he didn’t even know what to say."
Yoon-jae wanted to laugh.
"How can our memories be so different? Father was disappointed his son was wasting time learning those useless things instead of focusing on Martial Arts. I promise I’ll never listen to you or brother ever again after one too many of those shameful dinners, so I won’t do it!"
Yoon-ah pursed her lips and said seriously.
"I told you that’s nonsense, Father doesn’t think of you like that. At that time, he never cared if you danced or not, but after seeing you, did he not say should continue if you liked it? That was obviously his way of saying he wanted to see you dance again."
"Liar... those words were obviously said with disappointment."
"Hmph! Like father like son, both of you are just as stubborn. If you don’t perform a dance, then I won’t stop bothering you!"
After saying that Yoon-ah began pinching Yoon-jae’s cheeks. Yoon-jae’s face twitched and quickly he was unable to take it anymore, so he relented with a defeated sigh.
"Fine, fine! I’ll go do a stupid dance. What’s so good about me dancing anyway?"
A bright smile appeared on Yoon-ah’s face and she said.
"Little Jae, you have no idea how great your dancing is! Haha, eldest brother is going to be so angry he missed it! Everyone, step aside, my brother is going to dance next! Hurry, go!"
Yoon-ah yelled at the cheering disciples before eagerly pushing Yoon-jae forward.
Upon hearing Yoon-ah’s voice the disciples all looked over in slight surprise. However, they still made way for Yoon-jae who stumbled forward.
After regaining his balance, Yoon-jae sighed before walking toward the clearing with a calm expression. However, just before reaching the clearing, he turned to Cheong-su and said.
"Play something that matches my movements."
Cheong-su nodded.
The others at the table had also heard Yoon-ah’s words and they began focusing on Yoon-jae who was about to dance.
Yoon-jae didn’t mind their stares, especially Mar-Dule’s amused gaze. He approached the edge of the clearing and took off his shoes.
All the disciples then watched as Yoon-jae took out what looked like bells and tied them to his feet.
Ding~ Ding~
The crisp and clear sounds of the bells echoed out over the silent crowd as Yoon-jae calmly walked to the center of the clearing. The expression on his face didn’t give away whether he was nervous or not, rather, he seemed extremely nonchalant.
Meanwhile, the gazes of the disciples watching were either filled with curiosity or excitement. The excitement all came from the disciples of the Kunlun Sect mixed within the crowd.
The sound of the bells around Yoon-jae’s ankles came to a pause as he stopped in the center of the clearing. After a thoughtful pause, he then took out a familiar white veil with a flip of his hand. After putting it on, his white robes flapped, and the bells echoed out once more as he spun and sat down on the ground in a seiza position.
The disciples who watch this scene play out couldn’t help but have their hearts speed up a little. When they looked at Yoon-jae sitting in the middle of the clearing wearing a veil, inexplicable emotions began emerging in their hearts.
They knew who was behind that veil, but for some reason, both the female and male disciples found themselves mesmerized. Perhaps it was due to the fact that they couldn’t see Yoon-jae’s face, but he seemed different. His demeanor now held a sense of nobility that created a unique aura around him that naturally attracted their attention.
Hush whispers were soon heard among the disciples as they expressed their similar feelings.
Yoon-jae didn’t seem to hear them as he flipped over his hand and took out another item from his storage ring, which he placed in front of him. The item was a black box.
However, while the disciples were whispering to each other, two youths mixed into the crowd were looking at that extraordinary-looking white veil and that mysterious black box with ugly expressions.
