The Growth of a Titan-Chapter 416- Can I See The Items Once More?
Chapter 416: Chapter 416- Can I See The Items Once More?
Tsk!
Mar-Yue clicked her tongue when she saw the female attendant running off when she saw them. Sol also narrowed his eyes as well.
As soon as they entered the store, a rather beautiful woman who looked to be in her mid-twenties suddenly approached them from behind the store counter that was next to the entrance.
She had flowing long black hair that moved as she walked. Her face was as smooth as jade and was an oval shape.
She wore a simple white female cultivation robe that showed off her slender but curvaceous figure.
A few people in the store suddenly stopped what they were doing to look at her, both men and women were included.
However, despite the stares, the woman was calm. Her temperament made one feel as if they were staring at a calm lake, gentle and peaceful.
After approaching Sol and Mar-Yue, she politely greeted them in her silky-soft voice.
"You two must be the couple the Drifting Cloud Palace mentioned. At first, when I heard that the Descending Heavenly Dragon of Jianghu would be visiting my store I couldn’t believe it, I even found myself looking forward to your visit. And I’m not disappointed."
As the beautiful woman said this, she gave Sol a once-over, admiration evident in her eyes. She then turned her attention to Mar-Yue.
As she got a closer look at Mar-Yue’s features, the beautiful woman was shocked. Mar-Yue was young, but one glance at her and one would see that she would be a stunning beauty in the future.
A bit of envy even arose in the beautiful woman’s heart, but this was a rather common feeling any woman would have if they looked at this girl, so she quickly discarded it.
Smiling, the beautiful woman said.
"What a beautiful little Sister, I am the manager of this store, you can call me Miss Hanyu. What’s your name, little Sister?"
Mar-Yue smiled sweetly as she answered.
"My name is Yue."
Mar-Yue deliberately left out Mar in her name.
"Little Sister Yue is extremely pretty, no wonder a genius like the Descending Heavenly Dragon of Jianghu would fall for you."
"But Miss Hanyu is also beautiful."
Hanyu gently placed her slender palm on her snow-white cheek before she shook her head and said with a sigh.
"I’m already getting old and with my lack of talents, I’ll start having wrinkles soon. However, little Sister Yue’s talents are extraordinary, having reached the Spiritual Realm at such a young age. Perhaps only a few women your age in this generation can be compared to you."
Hanyu then sighed once again before she smiled and said.
"Look how rude I am, chatting away when you both came here to purchase a few items. Come inside, are there any accessories that little Sister has a preference towards?"
Hanyu then led Sol and Mar-Yue into the store and showed them around.
As they passed the many waist-height display cases with exquisitely made accessories inside, Mar-Yue stopped at a particular one.
"I like this one."
She pointed at a small hairpin that was in the shape of a blooming white lotus. It was small, but it was extremely detailed. It was almost as if it wasn’t a hairpin but an actual lotus flower that had somehow fallen into the display case.
"I also like this bracelet."
Mar-Yue once again pointed at a bracelet not too far away from the hairpin. Its chain was as thin as a thread while small oval-shaped white jades, that looked to be dotted with golden stars, hung from it.
"Both of them are beautiful."
Mar-Yue whispered as she observed the hairpin and bracelet, seeming to be enraptured by them.
Seeing this, Hanyu’s eyes flickered before she said with a smile.
"So little Sister Yue likes simple designs and colors."
Mar-Yue looked away from the display case and nodded. But she then paused for a moment before looking back at the display case while asking.
"I like them, but I don’t see the prices for them."
The person who designed the items and the material they were made from were inside the display cases with the accessories but not the price for the item.
Hanyu smiled and explained.
"Our store is a bit different from others. We don’t show the prices for the items, but our staff knows the prices for all of them from memory. However, we do have a price range. The first-floor items are below one hundred million mid-grade Aether Stones, while the second-floor items are above one hundred million and below three hundred million mid-grade Aether Stones. The third-floor to the fifth-floor items are sold in high-grade Ather Stones. The third-floor items are sold below three million, the fourth-floor items are above three million and below twenty million, and the fifth-floor items are sold above twenty million but below fifty million."
"That sounds convenient for you, huh?"
Mar-Yue suddenly said with a smile, however, there was a bit of mockery in her voice that wouldn’t be detected unless one had the context of her true emotions.
Hanyu tilted her head in confusion.
"Little Sister Yue, you’re the first person to say that, usually our staff would complain that it’s difficult to remember so much."
Sol squeezed Mar-Yue’s hand.
Mar-Yue smiled as she explained.
"There is a downside to this arrangement, but I meant it’s convenient since the items are organized within price ranges. Customers can find what they want within their price range without the staff scrambling around to show them the items with varying prices."
Hanyu suddenly clapped her hands and said with a gratified smile.
"Right? I thought of this arrangement precisely for this reason, but all I receive are complaints from my staff... *Sigh*... At least little Sister Yue understands me."
Mar-Yue nodded; the sweet smile was still on her face, but inside her heart was extremely cold.
After a small chat between them about the items’ arrangement, Hanyu skillfully shifted the conversation back to the price of the items.
"Little Sister Yue, the hairpin is only twenty million mid-grade Aether Stones while the bracelets are for sixty million mid-grade Aether Stones."
Sol nodded.
"We’ll take them."
He then turned to Mar-Yue and asked softly.
"Is this the only thing you want; I can buy more if needed."
Mar-Yue smiled sweetly at Sol before she looked at Hanyu and asked.
"Miss Hanyu, I have a few items in mind, but are there any more items with this design?"
Hanyu smiled.
"There are more on the higher floors, but..."—Hanyu hesitated for a moment then said—"...they are quite expensive."
Sol immediately waved his hand dismissively and said.
"If Yue wants it then I’ll buy it, the price doesn’t matter."
Hanyu’s heart couldn’t help but flip-flop when she heard that, almost coming up into her throat. Thinking about what Old Han had told her, she couldn’t stop the excitement inside her heart rising.
Hanyu’s smile seemed to become a bit brighter as she led Sol and Mar-Yue upstairs to the higher floors.
However, as they were leaving, the female attendant who had seen Mar-Yue and Sol at the door before rushing inside was standing not too far away from where Mar-Yue had chosen those items.
When she saw that Mar-Yue had chosen the hairpin and bracelet, her heart sank. Those were two of the items that the rich Young Master had his eyes on. However, now the sale of those items was going to the manager.
The female attendant couldn’t help but sigh regretfully, but she soon had to focus on the customer she was attending. But she wasn’t that enthusiastic, as this male customer in his late teens who was dressed in rugged clothes, was looking for the cheapest items.
No doubt he was some poor fellow who wanted to find a gift to give an unrequited love.
Only after half an hour did she get this poor youth to buy something so she could serve the next customer.
The female attendant saw the youth, but not with as much politeness as she did for the rich Young Master.
She then waited by the side for another customer to walk in. As she was waiting, she saw the manager coming downstairs with that couple.
The female attendant looked at her manager with pure jealousy.
The role of the manager was to oversee the store as well as attend to high-profile customers. She was also the store’s protector if anything went wrong.
So along with getting a fixed salary to protect the store, she also got commissions from the items her high-profiled customers bought.
It wasn’t often that she served a customer, but each time she did, the female attendant could only imagine the type of wealth her manager obtained, even from just a single deal.
At the counter of the store, Sol and Mar-Yue were standing together with Hanyu on the other side.
"The total comes up to eighty-two million high-grade Aether Stones and three hundred mid-grade Aether Stones. Will you pay with paper notes or Aether Stones?"
Hanyu said with a gentle smile.
Sol returned the smile as he said.
"I’ll pay with Aether Stones."
He then took out a storage bag to give to Hanyu, however, just before he could, Mar-Yue suddenly yelled and held his hand.
"Wait!"
Mar-Yue looked at Hanyu before asking.
"Can I see the items once more? I might also want to purchase another item."
Sol pulled back his hand holding the storage bag and he hesitated before turning to Hanyu across the counter.
"Is that possible?"
Hanyu, who still had her hand outstretched, almost gritted her teeth upon hearing Mar-Yue’s first sentence. But after hearing her latter sentence her heart was greatly stirred.
Upon hearing Sol’s question, Hanyu causally kept her outstretched hand and said with a smile.
"Of course, Li Mei, come here."
Hanyu suddenly called over the girl who was standing near the entrance.
The girl named Li Mei was slightly startled, but she quickly walked over.
"Yes, Miss Hanyu?"
Li Mei politely stood by the said.
"Come here, take these items, and put them inside an open display box so little Sister Yue can see them properly."
Hanyu took out a storage bag and handed it to Li Mei as she came around the counter.
After taking the bag, Li Mei went into the room behind the counter to do as she was told.
However, even after three minutes of waiting, there was no sign of her returning.
