The Growth of a Titan-Chapter 404- The Mysterious Shadow Immortal
Chapter 404: Chapter 404- The Mysterious Shadow Immortal
After the boys’ meeting, two weeks flew by.
Within those two weeks, a lot had happened. There was great turmoil because of the changes to the structure of the Academy and the details of the Two Continents Tournament.
The Academy had opened after a week to the frightened disciples’ joy. They didn’t hesitate to run back to their Clans and Sects to raise a complaint at the absurd actions of the Academy.
However, these spoiled Young Masters and Young Ladies were hit with devastating news. Their own Clans and Sects were echoing the same thing as the Academy. This left them distraught and terrified.
Were they really going to be forced into the Shadow Dimension, a place that was known as the Land of the Dead?
Did the older generation not care about them anymore?
Have they all gone senile and now wanted to get rid of them to leave a bunch of old fogies on the Continent?
This must be a conspiracy to get rid of them! What else could it be?
It didn’t take long for the news of the Two Continents’ Tournament to spread throughout Jianghu and eventually went on to disseminate throughout the entire Eastern Continent.
Everyone started talking about it, even the mortals were discussing it, while having vaguely heard about the shocking discovery of another Continent.
Of course, the panic of the spoiled disciples hadn’t died down as they had never experienced something like this before. But thankfully, their anxiety simmered down somewhat after it was announced that they would receive some form of protection.
However, there were some disciples who silently accepted this outcome and were doing everything to increase their strength within these four weeks.
As a result, the entire Academy was left a bit desolate as disciples had either gone back to the Clans or Sects or were in seclusion.
But regardless of which, both were cultivating like mad. It seemed as if a cultivation craze was happening among the younger generation. The older generation was moved by the results and thought they should have done something like this sooner.
No doubt some outstanding figures would rise during this Tournament. Each Sect and Clan hoped such figures could appear among their disciples.
Meanwhile, this was occurring, Sol had finished a few errands over these past two weeks.
He had returned the books he borrowed from the General Library about the Spiritual Realm for his breakthrough. He had also visited his Uncle Master to thank him for healing Little Zeel as well as visited the Jeagal Clan’s Pavilion Mountain.
Before he left for the Eternal Desert to find the Deep Autumn Flower to save Little Zeel, Sol had to solve Geon-Soo’s death. He had gone to the Underground Academy at that time and happened to meet Dae-Hyun, the Young Master of the Jeagal Clan, and Wei-Sun, his supposed attendant.
Sol had apologized for not being able to sell him the medicinal plants and herbs he promised, and he would visit him to make it up in the future.
However, Sol ended up going into seclusion in the Eternal Desert and only now returned after nearly a year had passed. When he went to the Jeagal Clan, he was turned away from the entrance and was given the excuse that their Young Master was in seclusion.
Sol could tell from the disciple’s tone that Dae Hyun was angry since only returned now. Sol could only pass on his apologies before leaving.
It was a pity he lost some potential profit, but there was no helping it.
Aside from those tasks, Sol would cultivate and practice his Martial Arts.
He had benefited a lot from his battles in the Martial Hall Pagoda, and he had his fight with Cian. He had managed to deepen his understanding of his skills to another level.
His omniscient ability that allowed him to project his senses from a distance was essentially him projecting his Willpower. Sol discovered he could combine this with his Fist Intent and attack from a distance.
Though he was facing some difficulty.
The further he tried to manifest his Fist Intent with his Willpower, the harder it was to control it and the more it drained him spiritually. And if he wasn’t careful and went too far, it wouldn’t just stop at him depleting his Willpower, but he could severely damage his soul as well.
It was to the point that even his Innate Dharma would find it difficult to heal it.
Furthermore, Sol also found out that constantly replenishing his exhausted Willpower and soul couldn’t be done, there was a limit to how much he could replenish his Willpower.
Though Sol figured out his control over this ability would increase if he added his Soul Energy to the mix. It gave him more finesse.
After Sol finished his training, he would sit in his open courtyard behind the manor and read a few books.
That was exactly what he was doing currently... well at least what he was trying to do.
It was nearly noon and Sol was hunched over a book which was resting on the table. He had his hand at his temples while his brows were scrunched so closely, they almost joined together.
The book looked pretty old with a few discolorations on the pages. The words also looked rather strange.
However, the reason for Sol’s facial expression wasn’t because he couldn’t read this book. The book was in the archaic language of Jianghu, but even a native who had a good grasp of the current language would be able to read it if they were given time.
Thus, Sol could read it clearly, however, it’s the fact that he couldn’t understand a majority of what was being talked about in the books.
This book was one of the ones Sol had taken from Su Moon’s Library back in the Hundred Plants and Herbs Dimension. He was finally able to look through them but as he read through one book after another, he found that the comprehension ability he was so proud of was utterly useless.
He could understand the books that told stories of Immortal Dia Shen, who supposedly embellished them before spreading them. Sol could also read the ones that spoke about the environment and the different places in the Violent Continent, which was what the Eastern Continent was called back then.
However, as much as Sol found it interesting to read about the ancient past, he was more interested in the ones that spoke about the cultivation of the Immortal Deities.
But Sol was in over his head.
For the books that spoke about cultivation, they were written in such a way that left him baffled. They were written on the pretext that the reader already had such a cultivation level and used jargon he had never heard before.
The more Sol tried to understand the more confused he became; it was to the point where he felt his mind being led astray.
There was a reason why the older generation when teaching disciples, stressed that they should not study about the higher realms of cultivation.
It would ultimately lead to confusion about one’s path and influence them greatly to make decisions that have irreversible consequences. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
Sol was being extremely careless by reading such books, even if he was only doing so out of curiosity and the cultivation system was long outdated.
But thankfully, the books didn’t actually go into any details about the cultivation of the higher realms, rather, the books about cultivation Sol were trying to read were on things like the amount of territory one can claim upon reaching a certain cultivation realm and other things along those lines.
Sol had also searched for the book he first read, about how one could conquer a Realm.
That was the book he was currently reading, and it was the one that was giving him the most headache.
"So, there are different levels of an Immortal, that’s interesting, but why would they need to conquer an entire Realm?"
Sol frowned as he asked himself this question, but he soon decided this was as far as he should take his curiosity. Any more than this and he was going down a dangerous path he couldn’t return from.
At the very least he got more details about the various peak existences that were on the Violent Continent back then.
There was Immortal Dai Shen and his disciples Su Moon, the Rune Immortal, the Sword Immortal Long Wei, the Saber Immortal Wang Ling, the Music Immortal Feng Bai, who was also known as the Poison Immortal, and finally the Beast Taming Immortal Feng Hong.
"As it turns out, the Music Immortal and the Beast Taming Immortal were brothers, similar to Cheong-San and Cheong-Su who got their inheritance."
Sol couldn’t help but say.
Aside from those Immortal Deities, there was the Giant Race’s Mar-Tu and the mysterious Shadow Immortal.
He was mysterious because Sol realized that the books hardly mentioned him.
It looked like even the people back then barely knew a thing about him, which made Sol more than suspicious.
