The Greatest Mecha-Chapter 72: Alto’s Block
Chapter 72: Alto’s Block
Alto sat cross legged on his bed looking at the notification he had received from his system days prior, his eyes wide in excitement. Apparently the mech designer protocol has given him a mission in the time he had not used it. There were also numerous results he had yet to claim, all because he had been too absorbed in his work of recent.
[You have recieved 3000 creation points for selling a grade C mech]
[You have recieved 1500 creation points for selling 10 pieces of a mech design]
[You have recieved 10,000 creation points for winning your first mech duel]
Alto’s jaw dropped in shock, all this time he had been working he had received a total of 14,500 creation points. He had made a sale much earlier than he had expected, he had been rewarded for defeating Charles Vans, and more importantly he had sold ten copies of his mech in such a short span of time. This meant he had also received credits within the game he could use to purchase licences for more designs.
The system brought up a new mission before him.
[A mission has been given to the user]
Alto gave the system a positive nod, more missions meant more creation points which in turn meant more growth which meant his chances of winning the competition and becoming the professor’s disciple would increase drastically.
[Mission: Participate in the Zen Utopia tournament and and win first place. Upon completion the user will be rewarded 50,000 creation points. Additional rewards will be given according to task completion]
"What the hell is mecha doing now, does it seriously want me to take first place in the competition. Taking top ten is going to be unimaginably hard and how I have to be number one." He stroke his chin as he re-read the mission, "But then again I think it’s within my abilities when I look at that reward. With that much I can level up all of my abilities and become a genius."
Alto was beginning to fantasize about prospect of winning the competition, despite how hard it would be he could not turn down such a bountiful reward. He knew if the reward was so good then the risk would be even greater but that did not cause him to fear in anyway. The mech designer protocol in its first week has encouraged him to build ld his very first mech, in his eyes it only showed him what could he possibly if he poured out his every being into it.
At that moment his eyes caught sight of the very first mission the mech designer protocol had given him and it caused him to shudder.
[User, as a beginner mech designer your use of the system is greatly limited. You have a period of 365 earth days to advance to a novice mech designer or lose forfeiting the system]
That was just three months ago, meaning he had at most nine months left to achieve his goal. And the competition was seven months away which meant if he failed to become a novice mech designer by then he would have at most two more months before he would lose the system.
"Shut, I totally forgot about this. I don’t even know if it’s possible at my level but I can’t deny that my growth with it has been exponential even with it’s uses still being limited." He spoke to himself. "What do I do now? I don’t really have a mentor and I don’t really know where to start, no one tells me anything. It’s frustrating."
He opened the game mech galaxy wars to find that he had made a total of twelve sales over his last mech, the Percival. Apparently it was boosted somehow, perhaps someone saw the gameplay of whoever used it first and thought it was great. He saw the notification he received, and tapped on it to see a review on his mech. It was from the first person who purchased it and probably the one he wanted to thank for his recent success, there were a few other reviews too but the first one was the only was he seemed interested in since he considered it that it would be genuine and not based on any form of hype.
It was a five star review from someone called "THE WHITE CAT". And it clearly said the words, "Your spear design won me the war."
The other reviews were either flamboyant or chess each carrying their own propaganda but this one however more quiet connected with Alto and uplifted his spirit. He smiled slightly, "Wow, I can believe someone actually used the spear and figured out my special feature." Alto had thought that having a melee weapon like a spear was good but compared to the age where each mech carried their own diverse set of fire power and defense he wanted to create a type of weapon that would complement for it. He was not too proud of himself though, he did not design the weapon since his weapon optimization was something he had never learned so he could only just tweak weapons slightly and not make any major adjustment. Perhaps this was also a skill that needed looking into.
Because of his use of the mech designer protocol he had grown not overconfident but a bit too confident for comfort. Now that he sat down and accessed himself he realised there were still many fields he fell behind in. His weapon optimization skill, his AI optimisation skill, his armour optimisation skill, his sensor system optimisation skill, and many other of his skills were still largely un-evolved and only slightly above average.
Alto threw himself back down on his bed and sighed. "Seven months, that’s all the time I’ve got to master all these fields, is it even possible?" Each of the skills would take a year to be proficient in and he had just a span of seven months to be versed in them all and even then he was sure that he would just be on the level of lower student mech designers and not the level of those he would really be facing in the competition. Alto groaned at the amount of work he had to do now.
The beautiful young woman with dark braided hair wore a beautiful flowing pink dress that reached her knee, she wore silver sandals over her legs and a beautiful silver ring on one hand. She walked down a long beautiful made of brick, it had windows by the side showing the view of a beautiful green garden with silver flowers. She walked gracefully with a metal tray in hand and on it some a plate covered up with a stainless cover to conceal the content within.
As she approached she saw two figures standing by the huge door she wished to enter and they were casually waving at her to stop. "Long time no see Sophina, I hear you’ve been well." Said the female figure of the two.
Sophina smiled and said. "Marie, still as positive as ever." She looked to her side and smiled at the male figure by her side. "Looking good Kram." Kram smiled back happily, Sophina continued. "Is my father in his office, why are you two standing guard?"
The first to respond was Marie, after traveling for a long time they finally returned and even then they were not relieved from duty, her brain was literally overheating from the exhaustion. "We were just leaving actually, the higher up needed our briefing on our latest mission, I almost froze up when I heard that a Seraphyne was attending the meeting. Those guys give me the chill."
Sophina was a bit startled. "You mean... The Seraphyne was there?" If they were involved she knew it had to be huge news. "What mission were your guys on?"
Kram responded this time. "Secret mission, can’t tell."
Sophina chuckled. "Are you kidding me you muscle head, secret is my middle name. Braised I’m the generals daughter, it’s not like I would ever dare to release informationgntjau could be lethal to human life."
Marie sighed and pulled Sophina closer to her, the motion causing the lid over the tray to open slightly and the sweet aroma of pie attacking her for a few seconds. Marie who had not had the luxury of such a good meal swallowed hard before saying. "We don’t get the details much but we were sent to infiltrate a planet far away in some distant star system to investigate something strange. We were told the inhabitants of the planet were violation a huge world order rule. This claim was confirmed when we scanned an electromagnetic pulse before we reached the planet the scale of it was level five at least. It’s a shame that they’ll be in trouble though, they had this sweet little guy. He was cute, smart and adorable."
Sophina chuckled. "Seems like you had a crush, if my father was really sent so far for that reason I believe that there was a reason behind it."
Just then there was a boom from the room like an argument in a very loud voice. Sophina on instinct charged into the room followed by Marie and Kram who were worried about the general, when they entered they could see the general standing before three people massive seats, they were all holograms of a meeting that was going on.
"It’s the admirals." Marie said softly.
General Duncan’s face was contorted in rage and confusion. "I apologize but that request."
A fourth figure was a white figure on a magnificent throne that could not be seen. The figure spoke in a distorted voice. "We the Seraphyne have been watching you and we admire your work, we would appreciate it if you finished the world we have handed to you, purge the planet."
Sophina, Marie and Kram frozen from shock, the tray of fruit pie fell to the ground spilling it’s content on the floor. The term of a purge was not one that could be taken lightly, it would be the total extinction of life on a planet.
