Meanwhile what happened in the human realm in these past two months since the moment they left.

In Agartha, everyone was anxiously awaiting their return, worried about what might happen. The two women were counting every single night, longing for their mates to return to them.

"Sierra, will they be alright?" Ember asked, her voice filled with worry. freēwēbnovel.com

"For them to return, it’s necessary for Oriana to regain her power and become the most powerful being in the demon realm," Sierra explained. "Only then can they return with her. The current lord of the demon realm must be more powerful than all four of them combined, and he won’t wait long to mark Oriana. Once he succeeds, there will be no future for Arlan and Oriana together."

"They will find a way," Seren said with determination. "Drayce and Arlan always find a way out, and with King Draven by their side, they will plan something. I trust them. Prince Arlan would never let Oriana go; he would never."

"We can do nothing else but trust them and pray for their safe return," Sierra added.

In the human kingdom of Griven-

It took nearly two weeks for Aaron and Lucian to reach the northeastern territory.

Arthur had remained stationed there after taking over the entire area and capturing Luis Mortiner’s two sons, other family members and his loyal subjects. He had been informed of everything and was eagerly awaiting the arrival of the two new lords of the Northeast.

One he already knew very well, and the other was someone new to him, but he was already impressed with the work Lucian had done and how he had become a thorn in Luis’ heel.

At the border of the territory, in front of the huge gate attached to the tall walls, Arthur arrived to welcome them. Soon, a large entourage approached the territory border.

At the gate, Aaron, Lucian, and Nathanial stepped out of their carriages and walked toward Arthur, who had dismounted from his stallion to greet them.

"Nathan," Arthur greeted his dearest friend with a hug, "I heard you’re finally be free from your father’s clutches?"

Nathanial hugged him back, "You heard right."

Arthur let him go and turned to Aaron. "Alex... or should I call you Lord Wynter from now on?"

"Whatever Colonel Lieutenant feels is right," Aaron replied.

"Drop the title already," Arthur said with a smile. "You’re no longer just a knight; you’re a lord now. You don’t have to be polite with me. Just treat me like you treat Nathan."

Aaron nodded and then looked at the handsome young man, who radiated noble authority even in his travel-worn appearance. "This must be Lord Rainier."

Lucian nodded. "Please, call me Lucian. I’m Aaron’s younger brother."

"Very well, Lucian," Arthur responded with a smile, pleased to finally see familiar faces in this territory beyond his subordinates and soldiers. He was looking forward to being with friends and having some much-needed fun.

He instructed his subordinates to take care of everything at the border, while he decided to accompany his friends back to the main city and then guide Aaron and Lucian to their residences. It was a long journey from the border to the main city, taking another hour to reach their destination.

Arthur informed them that both residences had been thoroughly cleared of any trace of the Mortimer family, including the entire estates. The loyalists to Luis had been imprisoned, and his large personal military force was now under the command of the King.

The ordinary servants and guards were retained to ensure they did not lose their jobs, as they had no ties to the previous owners and were simply focused on earning their salaries to feed their families. The people in the territory were delighted to have their true lords back and had never been pleased with Luis Mortimer’s reign.

After an hour, they stopped at a vantage point from where they could see two vast estates below, each with a small palace-like residence at its center, guarded by tall walls. These estates were built at the border between the northern and eastern parts of the territory. The northern side of the residence belonged to the Wynters, and the eastern side to the Rainiers, separated only by a wall between them but connected by a gate, allowing people from both residences to visit either side.

Aaron, who still had memories from his childhood, could vividly recall his home and how he used to roam freely between both estates.

Nathaniel placed his hand on Aaron’s shoulder, understanding the significance of this moment for him. He knew how emotional Aaron must be feeling to be back here, even if he wouldn’t show it.

"You finally made it back here," Nathaniel commented, to which Aaron nodded, his eyes glistening with unshed tears.

"That estate on the left is the Rainiers’," Aaron informed Lucian, who was also gazing at the estates. Though it was his home, he was seeing it for the first time.

As the carriages stopped, Rina stepped out and joined her brother where he was standing. "Wow! Such beautiful palaces! Who lives there?"

"That’s our home," Lucian replied. "We’re going to live there from now on."

"What?" she exclaimed in disbelief. "Are you really that rich, brother? Rich like our king?"

Lucian patted her head and simply smiled.

"But it’s so big that our entire village from Wimark could live in one of those. Won’t we feel lost?" she asked. "I can already feel my knees hurting with so much walking."

"You’ll have a carriage to take you anywhere you want," Lucian added.

"Oh, that would be really helpful," she said, hugging him from the side. "You’re the best brother."

Everyone heard her and felt cheerful at her excitement. Gwen and Paul came to join them as well, feeling emotional as they took in the sight.

"I never thought I would ever return here," Gwen commented.

"But we’re here now, back to our home," Paul replied, consoling his wife.

Both had happy as well as painful memories of their lives in this place, but they were glad to be back.

After everyone had a good look at the place they were going to live, Arthur spoke up. "Let me fulfill my duty of escorting both lords and their families to their homes," he said, mounting his horse and everyone followed.
