Chapter 683: Betrayed frёeωebɳovel.com

Everyone had gathered at the mountain, the battlefield. On one side stood the demons, and on the other, three dragons and a white wolf, as if ready to challenge the entire demon realm.

Arlan’s gaze immediately sought out Oriana, who was standing next to Tharzimon. The demon was holding her hand, and Arlan’s blue eyes narrowed at the sight, a fierce desire to rip the demon’s hand away surging through him.

"Don’t let his blatant provocation get to you," Drayce murmured, sensing Arlan’s agitation.

Arlan took a deep breath, keeping his composure.

Tharzimon, noticing Arlan’s reaction felt containt and, released Oriana’s hand with a light smirk. "Supernatural from the mortal world, I offer you a chance to save yourself. Return to your realm and never trespass here again," Tharzimon declared, his voice dripping with arrogance and authority, clearly looking down on Arlan and his companions.

Arlan’s response was swift and resolute. "Despicable demon from the demon realm, I give you an opportunity as well—hand over my mate and save your ass to continue to rule this realm." He was not sacred of this powerful demon in front of him.

Tharzimon’s smirk widened. "As you wish." He turned to Oriana. "I tried to offer him a way out, but he doesn’t value it. Don’t blame me for being merciless later."

Oriana’s eyes blazed with defiance as she glared at Tharzimon. "You can defeat him with all your might, but if you break your word and harm him..."

"It seems you are certain I will defeat him and fear I might kill him," the demon interrupted her, his smirk mocking.

"In this realm, you are the most powerful, and everything bends to your will," Oriana shot back. "But do not underestimate my husband. He is clever and capable of overcoming even your power."

"Then let us see what he can do," Tharzimon replied, turning to walk ahead, ready for the confrontation.

"Remember my warning," Oriana called out, her voice steady despite the tension. "He is my bottom line. If you hurt him, I will make sure you regret it one day."

Tharzimon chuckled, a dark amusement dancing in his eyes. "I look forward to it, my Demoness."

As Arlan and Tharzimon walked toward each other, the crowd around them stayed back, watching intently. The demons cheered loudly for their lord, their voices echoing in the air, while Arlan’s side remained silent, focused solely on their purpose.

Arlan glanced at Oriana, seeing the worry in her eyes, but also a deep trust. She believed in him, believed he would rescue her. She was his, and he wouldn’t let her down.

Stopping a few paces apart, Tharzimon sneered, "A Dragon? I’ve never seen one so weak. You are truly an embarrassment to the lineage of the Lord of Absolute Darkness."

"Soon, you will be an embarrassment to this realm," Arlan retorted, bracing himself for the fight.

With a swift motion, Tharzimon unleashed a spiral of darkness toward Arlan. In response, Arlan countered with his divine power.

Boom!

The collision of their powers created a massive shockwave, the force rippling through the air and the ground beneath them, a testament to their formidable abilities.

Oriana was relieved to see Arlan had regained his powers to some extent to be able to fight this demon but she was surprised at why Arlan was not using the power of absolute darkness. It would be more helpful than the divine power.

She turned to Xyron and said in a low voice while others were focussed on the battle, "Is this what you people planned? Use of divine power instead of darkness?"

Xyron nodded, "It was their plan."

"You should have told them how powerful Tharzimon is and that only the power of absolute darkness can stand against him, especially when Arlan is still weak," Oriana said, clearly displeased. "I sent you to guide them in the right way, but it seems I was wrong. Were you pretending to be on my side while staying loyal to your lord?"

Xyron remained silent, which only fueled Oriana’s anger. She clenched her fists, taking his silence as confirmation of her suspicions. The thought of being betrayed by the one person she had trusted enraged her.

"If anything happens to my husband, you will be the first one to pay for betraying me, followed by your lord. I will personally see to it that you both are sent to the depths of hell the day I regain my powers."

Xyron, unfazed by her threats, replied calmly, "We always knew who would win. Your husband never stood a chance, my Lady. You must accept that your place is in the Demon realm and that Lord Tharzimon is the one suitable for you. Together, we will rule all three realms."

Oriana seethed with frustration, wanting nothing more than to strike down the demon standing before her. But she was powerless. Her gaze shifted back to Arlan, who was visibly struggling against Tharzimon’s overwhelming power. It was becoming painfully clear that Arlan’s strength was waning and that he wouldn’t last much longer.

Panic gripped her heart as she shouted, "Arlan, use the power of darkness!"

Arlan heard her but continued to wield his divine power. The two opponents exchanged a flurry of attacks in rapid succession, further draining Arlan’s energy. Drayce and Draven exchanged worried glances.

"How long do you think his divine power will hold out?" Drayce asked, feeling worried..

Draven narrowed his eyes, assessing the situation. "Not much longer..."

Boom!

The next instant, Arlan was hurled back by the force of Tharzimon’s power, crashing into the ground with a devastating impact.

"Arlan!" Oriana screamed, rushing forward, only to find herself immobilized. She looked toward Tharzimon, who smirked, his expression clear even from the distance between them.

"Release me!" she demanded.

"You should witness what happens when one challenges the authority of the Demon Lord," Tharzimon’s mocking voice taunted her as he turned back to Arlan.

Arlan stood up on the ground, he was covered in dust and his own blood which he coughed out and some from his own wounds. It was evident that the last attack had hurt him severely.
