Chapter 679: What Is She Up to?

Every single demon present there recognized their princess right away, even though her appearance was a little different than in the past.

"Princess Esmeray?"

All the demons got on their knees the next moment, showing their respect to the princess, once the most powerful being of the Demon realm.

"What are you doing here?" Tharzimon asked, seemingly displeased to see her, and turned to Xyron. "Did I order you to bring her here?"

"You didn’t order him not to bring me here as well?" Oriana spoke, her gaze and voice full of authority. "You say I am the princess of this realm; then do I need anyone’s permission to walk around my own place?" She looked at all the demons kneeling in front of her. "Do you all want your princess to be imprisoned when she is finally back home, among her own people she always missed?"

"No, your Grace," all the demons said together.

Tharzimon could see she was trying to turn his people to her side, but he was still the ruler here. There was no way he would let anyone else take his place, not even this princess. Once he marked her, she would be nothing but obedient to him and serve his purpose of ruling the realm using her powers.

"Princess, this is not the place for you to be," he spoke, his voice calm, but his eyes showed his displeasure. "You should return and rest."

"Thank you so much for caring for me, my Lord," Oriana said as sweetly and politely as she could. "I think after returning to my home, my body is feeling much better than it has ever been. I guess I wish to stay here forever and gain my powers back."

"That’s a good thought," Tharzimon appreciated in front of her, but inside he didn’t believe her words. He clearly remembered how furious she was at him, and the thought of staying here repulsed her greatly.

What was she planning?

"There is a healing spring in the Demon realm. Xyron will take you there," Tharzimon said and turned to Xyron. "Be with her all the time."

"But I don’t wish to go at this moment," Oriana said bluntly. "I want to be here because I know my kin from the mortal world are here, and I need to see them."

"They have trespassed into the Demon realm, so they are intruders and will be punished according to the Demon realm’s rules," Tharzimon declared.

"My Lord, when you abducted me here so suddenly, what were my kin supposed to do?" Oriana asked. "They were simply worried that my life would be in danger and followed to protect me, the Princess of this realm, and you want to punish them? What kind of rule is this? The first thing I will do once I rule this realm is change such idiotic rules."

"I am the ruler of this kingdom, and you will be my demoness who will assist me with your loyalty and powers," Tharzimon declared.

"Then, my Lord, as your future demoness, I ask you to show mercy and let my kin go," she said, her voice polite, her lips curved into a gentle smile, making one want to agree to her request. "You would listen to your demoness, wouldn’t you?"

Tharzimon gritted his teeth; she was intentionally doing this in front of the other demons, and he could not insult her in front of them as they still considered her their princess. If not for his need for her powers to break that shield around this realm and then rule the three realms, he would have imprisoned her right away. freёwebnoѵel.com

"Your husband from the human realm must die so you won’t have any lingering feelings towards him when you are mine. The other two can return," Tharzimon replied, his eyes brimming with determination to hurt her deeply.

"Then you must fight him and win me over," Oriana didn’t back down, as she wanted to use any opportunity to give enough time to Alran and the others. "Didn’t you say you would claim me in front of him and then kill him? Are you going back on your word now?"

Tharzimon’s lips curved into a wicked smile, and he turned to the vice commander. "Bring them here."

"Wait! You are being unfair here," Oriana interrupted him. "If you think you are the most powerful and claim to rule this Demon realm, then you should fight with enemies that are your equal. If not, then you are a coward and scared to lose." She turned to the other demons. "What do you all think? Is your Lord the most powerful?"

"Yes, certainly," everyone spoke with pride. "There is no one as powerful as our Lord."

Oriana turned back to him. "My husband, whom you want to kill, is now weak, just as I must have been when I was brought here. You have to give him time to cultivate his powers and then fight with him. If you win, you can let him leave, and I will allow you to mark me, and I will have no relationship with the mortal world."

Tharzimon’s eyes brightened with wickedness. "I accept."

Oriana felt a little doubtful about how easily he accepted and noticed a warning in his eyes. Did she just commit another mistake, or would her faith in Arlan and his friends prove to be right?

"Then, instead of capturing them, provide them with food and water and allow them to regain their powers," she asked, pushing aside the feeling that something was wrong.

"As you say, my Demoness," Tharzimon said, gazing intensely into her beautiful eyes. "Tomorrow, at this time, I will mark you. That should be enough time for them to regain their powers."

"That won’t be enough at all," she tried to oppose.

"Then they can choose to die by my hand right away," Tharzimon said as he looked in a certain direction where three figures were standing in the distance, watching them.

Oriana followed his gaze and finally saw Arlan as the dust settled and they came into sight. Seeing him, even from a distance, her heart felt at peace, her gaze refusing to move away from him.
