Chapter 82: 83, I am your father

Jaysen Smith knew Michael Gordon ‘s thought process all too well, blocking all Michael’s arguments before he could raise them. Ultimately, the truth was all that was left for him to share!

However, he wasn’t even sure where to begin.

Michael Gordon nodded, paused, glanced at Jaysen Smith, and finally spoke with a calmness to his voice, “She and I have a child together. You probably already know who the child is, right?”

After finishing his statement, Michael Gordon departed without glancing back, leaving a retreating figure full of boldness and loss.

Bianca?

Bianca Aretha is Michael Gordon and Ivy Aretha’s daughter?

Jaysen stared in disbelief at the retreating figure, and then, instinctively, gave his head a vigorous shake, trying to clear his mind and confirm whether he had just heard correctly.

Michael Gordon always had a rule: sleep with a woman yes, but never fall in love or father a child. When did this child show up? And now she was older, so this was a long unattended issue!

When Michael Gordon entered upstairs, Ivy was leaning over Bianca’s hospital bed, taking a tissue from Sienna Harrison to wipe away the tear stains. After crying, her bright, beautiful eyes were as swollen as walnuts, making it problematic to face anyone.

“Enough, everything’s fine now, stop crying!”

Sienna handed her another tissue, attempting to console her while teasing her, “Stop crying. If Bianca wakes up and sees you looking like a panda, she might faint!”

Upon hearing her words, while trying to control her excitement, Ivy saw herself tear up again. She recalled their daughter opening her eyes and wagging her little head in mock disapproval. Ivy couldn’t help but laugh amidst her tears,

My precious girl loves pandas. She would never be scared of them. Rather, she would jump up to give them kisses!” Ivy exclaimed, blinking back her tears.

“Now that you can laugh, I feel relieved!” said Sienna.

Seeing Ivy’s concern, Sienna sighed in relief. As she stood up and turned around, she saw Michael Gordon leaning against the door, his eyes glued to the figure in the hospital bed, his gaze lingering over Bianca Aretha.

“Mr. Gordon?”

Sienna purposely raised her voice!

Upon hearing her voice, Ivy got so startled that she immediately stood between him and the hospital bed, shielding Bianca lying on the bed. Even her hands splayed out protectively before her.

Hmph!

Was she afraid he would take her child away now?

Too late!

However, noticing Ivy’s swollen eyes and unconscious gestures, Michael decided to put this matter aside until she was in a better state.

“Do you know what you look like now?”

Michael looked at Ivy’s puffy eyes and chuckled.

“What?” asked Ivy, her eyes full of irritability.

From the look of things, he does seem to like Bianca. With Ivy, she would tense up just at the mention of his name. Now that he knows that Bianca is his daughter, he would definitely want her to return home.

But she would never allow it!

Even if it means going to court, she would never compromise. Without fear, Ivy stared back at Nathan, silently making up her mind.

Reading her anxious expression, Michael laughed and said, “You look like a mother hen!”

She did remind him of the mother chicken protecting her chicks in that childhood game, “Eagle catches little chickens”.

“A mother hen?!”

This damn man, dared to call her a mother hen, even in front of Bianca. What, was she then considered a chick? What kind of man says that about his daughter?

Ivy suddenly understood the meaning and brightened, shooting him a sly smile, “Well, out of nowhere a big eagle just showed up. If I didn’t act like a mother hen, the eagle will snatch away my child!”

In her display of protective instincts, Ivy subconsciously moved closer towards the bed, despite already being against it. Her protective instincts overrode her conscious thoughts, prompting her to gravitate towards to Bianca.

The irony of her actions was not lost on Michael.

What on earth was this woman doing! The nerve of her to not even let him see one glimpse of his own daughter. If it weren’t for Bianca needing quiet rest, he would have given Ivy a piece of his mind by now.

“Mr. Gordon, could you give us a moment?”

Michael was planning to take care of the issue then and there before waiting for the aftermath.

A crisp echoing voice could be heard from the entrance. As Michael turned his gaze, he saw Cathy lowering her head, calling him softly by his name from the entrance. Without thinking, Michael knew what she wanted.

“Ivy, wait here. We have still need to settle the scores between us!” Michael gave her a stern nod, and then he turned around and walked out of the hospital room.

The two people walked for a while until they had distanced themselves enough from the ward. In the privacy of the corridor, Michael looked at the nervous woman and said, “Okay, what is it?”

Hearing Mr. Gordon’s question, Cathy simply lowered her head, nervously tugging at the hem of her clothes. Michael found this restless behavior frustrating, knowing that she had something on her mind but was hesitant to speak up.

“Speak up!”

Seeing that Cathy struggled to compose herself, Michael’s patience was wearing thin, “If you’re not going to say anything, I’m leaving.”

Was he so daunting that she couldn’t even vocalize her thoughts?

Ivy didn’t fear him, she even constantly challenged him, openly swearing at him. Why couldn’t she do the same?

Unknowingly, CEO Gordon began comparing all the women he had met to Ivy and found that despite her sharp edges, she held a surprisingly high rating in his heart.

“Mr. Gordon, could you fulfill one request for me?” asked Cathy, she mustered her courage finally found her voice to speak.

“Let’s hear it!” Michael furrowed his eyebrows, “Considering you saved my daughter’s life, I might accept your request.”

He found it hard to digest the fact that Oliver Thompson could be interested in a timid person like her!

“Could you not tell Oliver that I’m staying here?” said Cathy, raising her head and looking earnestly at Michael.

Huh!

Just as he thought, it was about that!

“Sure!”

Michael’s response came crisp and clear, which made Cathy slightly dumbfounded. He had always supported Oliver in their relationship, helping him to look for her all along. His unexpected concession made her doubt his sincerity.

“What? Don’t believe me?” Michael could tell from her astonished expression that she didn’t trust him, “Julie, you’re so timid. Has your courage shrunk along with your head?”

Having said that, he turned to leave. After taking a couple of steps, he looked over his shoulder at her and said, “If you wish to work as a nanny, do it correctly under Miss Aretha!”
