The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter-Chapter 944: THE FINAL BATTLE (10)
Chapter 944: THE FINAL BATTLE (10)
Lou got a backlash when he killed Osana. He could feel how his energy ran wildly within his body and even though he didn’t show it, but he was not in the condition, where he could use his magic freely, let alone to create a massive protection shield for all of them for a long time.
With his current condition, he wouldn’t be able to pull it through.
"Lou, they are coming," Ethan said. His eyes fixed at the flock of crows that came toward their direction. "Lou, why didn’t you put up the shield yet?"
"I can’t."
"You have the magic stones with you, no?" Redmond came over. He pointed at the three magic stones between his fingers. "What do you mean you can’t?"
Lou scratched his head and he ordered for the remaining eleven magic users to gather around him. They were not trained magic users. If anything, their skill mostly only average, which wouldn’t be enough to put up the protection shield for long.
More so, three fire magic stones wouldn’t last for long too if they had to put up the shield in an uncertain duration of time.
Lou then explained of his backlash and why it wouldn’t work.
"You have at least an hour to go as far as you can and find a shelter. I can only hold it that long." Lou glanced at the crows that were getting closer to them. He cursed under his breath again. He didn’t believe it, it would be the end of him. Life was suck.
"I don’t want to do it!" One of the magic users protested. He shook his head. "I will not stay!"
"If we have to stay behind, it meant we are going to die once we ran out of power? No! I don’t want to do it!" The other chimed and soon after the rest of the magic users refused to do it and a second later, there was this argumentation between the magic users and the merchant, the warriors also voiced out what they were thinking.
"Enough!" Lou said. The sound of their bickering was hurting his ears. Their point of contention for not wanting to stay was because they were going to die if they stayed to put up the protection shield. "All of you go! I will stay!"
"What? Are you crazy? Is that suicide?" Ethan threw back the red cloak that Lou lent it to him.
"I told you to wash it first before you returned it." Lou didn’t look happy to see his dirty, red cloak.
"The fuck with the cloak, Lou! Are you going to die?"
Lou waved his hands nonchalantly. "Don’t think too much. Do you think I am generous enough to die for all of you? You overvalued yourself."
Ethan was annoyed by this merchant, yet he couldn’t help, but worried. "How do you plan to fight those crows?"
"Well. I have my own way. I am a magic user. I know something that you don’t."
"I thought you are a merchant." Ethan referred to the way Lou called himself less than an hour ago.
Some of them argued that Lou had to go with them after creating a wall of protection, but Lou told them that was not how it worked, because if he was away from the shield he created, it would weaken the shield and in his current condition, it became even more impossible.
"Go. Go. Shoo. Shoo." Lou waved his hand impatiently. "You are wasting your time and my energy." And after that, Lou took a deep breath and created a wall of protection, which prevented the crows from going through. "GO NOW!"
Couldn’t argue with him anymore and because the situation was critical, they didn’t have any other choice, but to leave Lou there.
Ethan took the red cloak that he threw earlier and helped Aliana to runaway from that place.
The roars of monsters and the sound of when the crows made a collision against the protection walls was rather scary. Soon, you would be able to see how many the crows were.
Thousand? Million? There were a lot of them and their number only kept increasing, as they emerged from the fissure just like the other monsters.
Seeing the gravity of the situation, all of them started to move, leaving Lou alone to hold back the crows for them.
When Lou thought, he was alone, he felt something nudged his back and when he glanced to his left side, he saw the lazy bear was sitting there. Lil Thing blinked its eyes innocently before it decided to sprawl on the ground.
"What are you doing here?" Lou narrowed his eyes. "Go. You will be killed if you stayed with me."
Yet, Lil Thing yawned and wiggled its body, seemingly didn’t listen to what Lou told it to do. The merchant wanted it to go with the other warriors, but the white bear didn’t listen. It stayed there with him.
"Well, thank you for the company then," Lou finally said, tired to shoo this bear away, but it didn’t budge an inch. "I will treat you something nice if we can survive this. How it sounds?"
Lil Think only blinked its emerald eyes and continued to become lazy.
"Well, at least I am not alone." Lou lifted his head and watched how the crows had covered the whole wall of protection that he created.
Once it broke, Lou wondered if he would feel the pain when they tore his body apart. He only hoped it wouldn’t be too painful. He hated to be in pain. He recalled the core memory when he was little, watching his mother was being burned because she was a witch.
At that time, in Karam continent, a magic user was a sin. They disliked magic user and tended to kill them or not to torture them. Only a few years back that they started to accept magic user, even so they still used to torment them in secret and mostly, Red Claw pack provided it for them, along with shifters and children.
If there was one continent that close to barbaric, it must be Karam continent, though it was better place compared to when Lou was little.
"Dang. Sabian is right... I shouldn’t have entangled myself with them. Damn." Lou sat down next to Lil Thing and caressed its ear. "It’s a pity that I can’t see her anymore." He hoped everything was well in her end.
However, it was not the case, because right now Iris was far from being well.
Blood dripped from her arm when she stared at the black beast in disbelieve and Rei took a stance in front of her to protect her from the beast.
Cane attacked her.
Iris couldn’t believe that.
He actually attacked her. Why would he do that? Iris felt the pain on her arm, but mostly anxiety. Because something must have gone wrong with Cane if he attacked her.
Iris looked around and saw the people behind Zeke. They were not magic users, neither they were shifter, thus they must be Decratic’s follower and his follower...
She remembered that they had a discussion about it that his followers were mind controller. Zeke and Dexter were mind controller as well. In that case, would they get to Cane?
"Back off, Na. I will handle him." Rei shielded Iris behind his back. His eyes fixed on the beast before him. "Stay close with me."
Right at that time, the elders came and surrounded her too, giving her their protection.
"What are you going to do with him?" Iris was on alert. Rei had been wanting to get rid of Cane and he would use this as a perfect reason to do so. Even without any reason, he would eventually be a danger for Cane, as he justified his action to kill the shifters for his own benefit, of course, he wouldn’t let go of this golden opportunity to justify his decision.
Rei didn’t answer her, which made Iris became even more nervous, but she didn’t have time to prod further when the black beast started to attack Rei.
The fight was brutal. Cane used the black wisp and they moved very fast. If Rei was not blessed with the speed he had, he must have been done for.
However, Iris was not completely safe either, because once Rei was occupied by the black beast, Dexter and Zeke, also the followers started to attack them as well.
Some knights came for their aid, but Iris had to witness the extend of the cruelty of the mind controller.
Just like what Rei did to the monsters, who currently guarded the second fortress, the followers of Decratic made the knight to fight against each other.
"Don’t look at their eyes!" Elder Xarex roared, he tried to stop the assault, but it was a futile attempt, he couldn’t undo what had been done. ƒгeewёbnovel.com
Mind controller was not something that related to black magic, it was an ability. Like how shifter could shift into their beast form. Therefore, Iris was clueless of what to do.
But her main focus right now was on Zeke and Dexter, since they were using the black magic to back up the followers, at the very least, she could do something with them.
"Come here, follow me!" Elder Rose suddenly grabbed Iris’s hand and brought her away from the mess.
"No." Iris swatted her hand and fought back when Dexter and Zeke attacked her with black magic, she purified it and made a counterattack with the black wisp. She gritted her teeth when her aim missed. She was not used to using this black wisp after all.
"Come here! You can’t fight them all!" Elder Rose insisted.
Yet, Iris swatted her hand. At this point, she didn’t trust anyone. Her only worried was Cane, who fought against Rei, but from the look of it, Dexter seemed to be more interested to fight the black beast, instead of helping his father to get Iris for Decratic.
His hatred toward the alpha must be very great for killing Aria. When in fact, it was Iris, who had done it.
"No! Stay away from me!" Iris threatened her with the black wisp, but Zeke suddenly attacked her again with the black magic, which upset Iris. Why the divine power couldn’t be used for an offensive attack?!
"You can’t fight them all! We need to retreat!" Elder Rose screamed, she couldn’t care less with the threat from the black wisp. The sharpness of this thing grazed her neck and it drew blood on her skin.
Right at that time, the ground was shaking one more time and all of them was forced to stop their fight to save themselves, as the crack started to appear. How many crack that had appeared right now?
If this continued, even with Rei power, they wouldn’t be able to fight Decratic. No. If this kept going, the victor of this war was obvious.
"Stop with your stubbornness and come with me!" Elder Rose snapped at Iris and then grabbed her hand again to move away from the battle, but Zeke was following closely behind them.
Iris glance over her shoulder to see the black beast was still fighting Dexter and Rei at the same time. She wanted to rush toward him, but the pain in her arm told her that was not a good idea. Cane was being mind controlled and this made Iris’s blood boiled with anger.
She snapped her hand from Elder Rose’s grip and turned around to face Zeke. She didn’t think about this earlier, but this man was a black magic user, as much as he was a mind controller.
Therefore, she should be able to do that. He was no different from Rei.
"What are you doing?!" Elder Rose widened her eyes, panic on her expression when she realized what Iris was going to do to Dexter. "Are you insane?! Are you going to kill yourself?!"
