The Aloof Lord's Mysterious Wife-Chapter 827: Don’t Follow Your Parents, One’s Bad, the Other’s Brainless
Chapter 827: Don’t Follow Your Parents, One’s Bad, the Other’s Brainless
This short sentence left Yun Jianchu speechless.
She hummed gloomily.
After all, what Nanli said was the truth.
Though she was of the Asura Clan, she was indeed a weakling.
It was rare to see Yun Jianchu suffer, so Nanli comforted her, "Maybe my memory isn’t fully restored, so I don’t remember you."
Yun Jianchu seemed to come alive, her energy suddenly restored.
"Exactly!" she excitedly shook, "I used to be just Jianchu. The Yun surname was added later."
Nanli wasn’t surprised.
Since the Asura Clan had no surnames, it was natural for her to be called by only her given name.
"How did you end up with a surname?" Nanli asked.
Yun Jianchu replied, "When I came to the Human World, I realized everyone had surnames, so I had my master give me one. He didn’t know what to choose, so he just gave me his surname."
Now, Nanli’s interest was piqued.
"You, an Asura Clan, actually took a mortal as your master?"
Yun Jianchu retorted, "My master isn’t a mortal! He’s the famous Celestial Emperor Yining!" She pouted stubbornly, "How could the master I wanted be some weak mortal?"
"Yining?" Nanli frowned immediately.
She sat up with a serious expression, her mind racing.
"Celestial Emperor Yining has been in seclusion for years, close to becoming a deity. How could he take an Asura Clan woman as his disciple?"
But as she sifted through her memories, she did recall hearing about Celestial Emperor Yining having taken on a female disciple, though she hadn’t delved into her identity.
Yun Jianchu faltered, feeling guilty, and quickly said, "Ah, I’m tired, you must be tired too, let’s just sleep, okay?"
"I’m not tired," Nanli responded. "My curiosity has conquered my fatigue."
In the Immortal World, titles were determined by cultivation levels.
Celestial Beings were divided into six realms: Divine Immortal Realm, Genuine Immortal Realm, Mythical Immortal Realm, Golden Immortal Realm, Celestial Sovereign Realm, and Celestial Emperor Realm.
Yining had reached the Celestial Emperor Realm, earning him the title of Celestial Emperor Yining.
Siheng, on the other hand, was in the Celestial Sovereign Realm, with the title Jifeng Celestial Sovereign.
"..." Yun Jianchu decided to play dead.
Nanli, however, knew how to deal with her. She formed a hand gesture, pressing it against Yun Jianchu’s chest, making her cry out in agony, as though her Demon Soul was being burned by intense flames.
"Hey! Nanli, I don’t want to keep talking about this. Don’t you understand the meaning of ’knowing when to stop’?"
Nanli’s voice was cold. "As it happens, I have some acquaintance with Yining as well—we could even be considered friends. But during the war between the immortals and demons, his cultivation realm plummeted. And now I strongly suspect that you deliberately hid your identity to harm him."
Thinking back, the Five Elements Vajra Umbrella really could have been forged by Celestial Emperor Yining.
And for such a powerful artifact to contain an inner secret realm—one that sealed Yun Jianchu for tens of thousands of years—it was clear that Yining’s downfall had a great deal to do with her.
Upon hearing this, Yun Jianchu flew into a rage, her voice laced with madness:
"Harm him? What did I harm him with?!
"He was the one who kept me by his side, refused to let me go, and insisted on taking me as his disciple!
"I was held captive, trying to bide my time, hoping my family or clan would eventually come rescue me. I never expected that he didn’t just want me as his disciple—he wanted me as his wife!
"Ha... Ha... Ha... I had no way out, so I gave in—but never did I imagine... never did I expect... that he would personally kill the child I bore after so much pain and suffering!" fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
"After that, I couldn’t escape my fate either. He sealed me inside that Vajra Umbrella. Nanli—it was he who wronged me, not the other way around! You’re a woman too—why are you defending a heartless man like him?!"
That part of her past was filled with both joy and agony.
Now, as she recalled it, Yun Jianchu was overwhelmed by pain. Without a physical body, her demonic soul trembled violently.
Nanli could feel the depth of her anguish and sorrow.
She was momentarily dazed—never had she imagined that the "heartless man" Yun Jianchu spoke of... was Celestial Emperor Yining.
"But I’ve known him for many years," she said softly. "Though rigid, he’s always been a man of principle and feeling. How could he kill his own child with his own hands? There must be some kind of misunderstanding between you."
This remark only angered Yun Jianchu more. She shouted, "What do you mean, misunderstanding? Our child was a Celestial-Demon hybrid, with both Celestial marrow and Demon bones. The Heaven’s Law couldn’t tolerate him, so Yining had to kill him! I saw and heard it with my own eyes! Just because I’m of the Asura Clan, you won’t believe me? Nanli, you’re just like them, thinking all of us from the Demon Realm are liars, only knowing how to kill!"
Nanli fell silent.
Celestial-Demon hybrids were indeed incompatible with the Heaven’s Law, as the blood conflict would push them toward the Demon Path.
She sighed, "He has already fallen, and the truth about the past is beyond my reach. But you spent so much time with him, so you must know what kind of person he truly was."
Yun Jianchu froze for a moment.
She quickly calmed down, but Nanli continued, "He must have had some real affection for you. Otherwise, he would have killed you without hesitation. Why would he imprison you in the Vajra Umbrella instead?"
Yun Jianchu found an excuse. "Because he wanted to torture me! Yes, he wanted to torment me!"
Nanli sighed.
Unfortunately, true gods and immortals only have their primordial souls left, with no remaining spirits after their fall. Otherwise, she could have called Yining up to explain everything.
She lay back down. "It’s getting late, let’s rest."
After hearing enough gossip, she comfortably fell asleep, completely ignoring Yun Jianchu’s continued mumbling.
Yun Jianchu, still lost in her painful memories, was about to curse Yining’s entire lineage when Nanli fell asleep so quickly. She tried to continue complaining, but it was useless. Nanli seemed to have learned how to block her out.
Frustrated, Yun Jianchu floated over to the three little ones nearby and began her monologue:
"Listen up, you all must be good people in the future, or you’ll be struck by lightning!"
"Don’t follow your father; he’s awful!"
"Don’t follow your mother; she’s brainless!"
"Follow me, I’m beautiful, kind-hearted, and generous. If you can learn even one percent of me, everyone will love you once you’re born."
The three little ones, exhausted from their long day, had hoped to finally rest. Instead, they were subjected to their mother’s endless nagging.
It was pure torture!
But they couldn’t bear to torment their mother, so they silently endured it, not making a sound.
Yun Jianchu’s Demon Soul didn’t seem tired, and she kept talking for three full days and nights.
Finally, the three little ones couldn’t take it anymore. They began to stir, waking Nanli up.
Nanli was jolted awake by a sharp belly pain. Still groggy, she could hear Yun Jianchu recounting her sweet past.
The non-stop monologue felt like double the torment!
Nanli closed her eyes and said, "Shut up already!"
Yun Jianchu paused, then laughed. "Oh, you’re finally awake."
As soon as she stopped talking, Nanli’s belly pain subsided.
