The Accidental Mage: Awakening of the Ordinary-Chapter 39: Damian’s Dagger
Chapter 39 - Damian's Dagger
The food arrived and everyone was like a kid who saw their favorite foods. Their mouths were drooling as they look at the foods being served.
"Thank you for the food!"
Everyone prayed before digging through the food.
"Yow, Aziel. You ordered a lot of food, man. I know finishing up these foods isn't the problem but how can we afford to pay for these?"
"Excuse me but we all know that it wasn't Aziel's idea to order these much food. It was yours you dummy!"
Rocky answered indifferently.
"Alright, it was my idea but we all ate though."
Jake said and continue to eat.
"Don't worry Jake, I already paid for it. As long as you continue with your training, I got your back. Anyways, Miss Edith said something weird after I paid for the service. Makes me think that something bad might happened sooner or later."
"Weird?"
"What do you mean? Is the food poisoned? What did she tell you?"
Rocky and Jake simultaneously hold their chewing, and asked.
"She just said that we might get in trouble because they only serve this kind service once a week."
"That explains why they made the food extra special just for us."
Damian pointed out noticing that the food was a little extravagant than before.
"You have a keen eye, new one."
Everyone turned and saw their student council president.
"I'm sorry to interrupt you guys, but it seems the special service ticket that was offered only once a week was already sold and I can see who bought the ticket. Anyways, I apologize for calling you, new one."
Claire's veins could be seen bulging in her temple, and she wears a weird forceful smile.
"Hi guys, I am Claire Terra, I only came to remind Aziel about later. Thank you guys, you can continue eating."
After introducing herself, she just casually walk away with her group, as if nothing happened, but the rest of the people who saw it was suppressing their shock faces, not because of the angry look that Claire had shown, but the fact that she came to remind Aziel personally about something that wasn't really emphasized, which makes it intriguing.
After Claire and her group left the cafeteria, everyone's jaw dropped, and bombarded Aziel personal questions.
"Dude! How long have you been dating the student council president? I knew you're a playboy, mah man!"
Jake tapped Aziel's back three times.
"Dude! Claire is your girl? Could you introduce me to one of her friends?"
Rocky tapped Aziel's shoulder three times.
"Aziel, I don't think it's appropriate to..."
Damian couldn't finish his sentence because Aziel stood from his chair.
Rocky and Jake's eyes sparks as they look at Aziel.
Aziel got annoyed by his friends' teases so he gave them a smack in each of their heads.
Aziel turn to look at Damian and was about to smack him as well.
"No! I didn't say anything. I'm peacefully eating, and enjoying the food here, I have nothing to do with that."
Damian raised his hands before playfully continue eating his food.
Aziel sat back down in his seat.
"Ah! What is the meaning of this, Aziel!? Having favoritism aren't we? Why are you always letting Damian off the hook so easily?"
"You will know soon enough Jake, but for now, I want you two to respect Damian, as much if not more than you respected me."

"That might be a bit hard to do, if you ask me, dude. You see, if it was Rocky, I wouldn't mind. Although he was a bit weaker than me, he was still the first person to aid you, Aziel. But I can't comprehend why Damian? Is it because he was stronger than both Rocky and I?"
Jake protests.
"I will tell you if you can improve yourself in a week, Jake. Prove to me that you are worth more than this information!"
Aziel stood from his seat again and walks towards the exit door of the cafeteria.
"Dude, I was just kidding! Come on, man! Will you just come sit back here?"
Jake stood and requested Aziel to come back to their table.
"No, Jake. And I wasn't joking about it. Show it to me and I will grant you the answers to your questions. Anyway, I'll go on ahead, the lecture might have started already, and I don't want to be scolded by Arnold once again. Head to your class after eating, I'll see you at the dorm."
Aziel bowed his head before leaving the cafeteria.
"Look what you did, you dummy!"
Rocky stood from his seat and smack Rocky's head before running to the door.
"Hey! You pay for that Rocky!"
Jake yelled and went back to eating.
"Can you finish al that by yourself?"
Jake was stunned almost scared when he saw Damian still sitting in front of him.
"What are you still doing here!? I thought you left with Aziel!"
"It seems like we had the same class after all. So if you're done eating we should go now. I had to introduce myself in front of everyone right?"
Damian stood up from his seat.
"Uhh, no. You only need to introduce yourself to the Master, and he will tell you the basics in smithing which is not really an important part since you already knew how to smith. You just have to convince him that you have the talent in smithing, and he decides whether to treat you right or not by how talented he sees you in smithing."
"Hmmp, maybe we could get along. So, shall we go?"
Damian said to Jake who's still mulching in his seat.
"Uhh... give me 5 minutes. I will just take a bite on some of the other foods that wasn't even touched."
"We don't have time for that."
Damian pick Jake by his collar and headed to the exit door.
Jake managed to grab two chicken legs before getting dragged out of the cafeteria.
"Thank you for food!"
Jake yelled to Edith with a smile.
"Please come again anytime."
Edith bowed her head as she sent her customers outside.
Aziel and Rocky were in the same class, while Jake and Damian were classmates as well.
Aziel and Rocky manage to get into their homeroom before Arnold arrived.
"Sigh! Luckily, we arrived first before Arnold."
"Dude, how can you run so fast even though you put so much restrictions on your body?"
"Constant training and resolve, that's the formula Rocky. If you continue to train your body, you can eventually do that same things I did."
"Yes sir!"
Rocky yelled, forgetting about the fact that their lecture was already starting.
"What? I haven't said anything yet Rocky."
Arnold turn to look at Rocky.
"Uhh, yes sir. I'm sorry for interrupting."
Rocky blushed in embarrassment, and the class laugh.
Jake and Damian went to the smithing class.
On their way to the forge, a constant hitting on metal could be heard. And the air around the area was hot due to the fire that was use to melt the metals.
When they got inside the room, they saw a huge man hammering a burning metal. His body was full of sweat, and he had an eye patch in one of his eyes with a scars behind it.
"Who opened to door!? I will smash your heads if you open that shit again!"
Although he was a bit rowdy looking person, he was actually a meticulous person when it comes to smithing. There is only one thing that he dislikes the most and that is opening his forging room when he's working.
"That's Gordon Morris but he likes to be called Master. Go on, greet him and introduce yourself."
Jake whispers in Damian's ear.
Damian nodded and head towards the Master.
"Good day to you Sir, I am Damian Miller. Willing to be taught with your magnificent craftsmanship. I will be in your care sir."
Gordon didn't even give Damian a single glance.
"Pipsqueak, I haven't let you in yet. Show me your work first and I will decide whether to let you in my class or not."
Damian was infuriated by Gordon's word of choice.
"You have until this noon. Let's see if you can manage to finish something."
Gordon continue to hammer the blazing metal.
"Yes sir."
Damian had no choice but to obey the demands of Gordon and headed to one of the furnace.
The room was small and only a small number of students could fit inside.
Inside this room only Gordon, Jake, Damian, and two other students who are also working with their own furnace.
All the other students from the class were in a different forging room, and Gordon would just check their works after they finished it.
"Dude, that's fine. He usually acts like that in front of a student he deem talented, so go on, and show him what you've got!"
Jake winked at Damian.
Damian nodded and starts to crafts his weapon.
After a few hours, Damian finished his weapon and hand it over to Gordon.
Although Damian had a huge confidence in his craftsmanship, he was still nervous. It was the first time that someone critiques his final work.
"What the hell is this!?"
Gordon yelled to Damian.
"That's a dagger sir."
"I know! I am not blind! What I was asking is that, in what way you think someone can survive a battle with just this tiny thing that looks so brittle!? I bet even a small smash can destroy..."
Gordon's jaw dropped when he witness Damian sliced a Mithril bar using his dagger.
Mithril is one of the most durable metal in the world, and the fact that Damian's small dagger manage to cut it in half, left Gordon Morris speechless.
"Am I in or out?"
Damian asked with a smug look on his face.
