Talentless Extra Of The Legendary Hero Academy-Chapter 25: Arc 1
Chapter 25 - Arc 1
He smiled, and to Derrick's surprise, he nodded and said, "Of course. We are here to secure the key for the Academy."
Ethan flinched, and then he turned to the hammer that was strapped to his back as understanding filled his eyes. "You bastard. You are crazy. Is this why you said I should come with my hammer? You want to play at hero and villains?"
Severin's voice turned sharp. "You're not here to play, Ethan. You're here to follow whatever I say without questions."
Ethan shook his head, stubborn, and gave a dry laugh. "Do you know how powerful a Headless is? And you want me to fight him? I'm nothing but an ant beneath his feet..."
"You're not smart enough if you think you're fighting a Headless. This is why you are just here to follow my orders. You're too useful to be sent on a dying mission like that. You will be used for something you can handle."
Ethan flinched again when Severin stared at him, and he looked away with his jaws clenched. He still wasn't used to being ordered around by someone so much weaker than him, but each time he looked at Severin's eyes... those eyes that seemed to be staring down at everything.
Derrick snorted and shrugged. "Then what are we going to do? I know you already planned all of it. Just tell us."

"The Scar. They will be here," Severin said.
Derrick and Ethan frowned. "The what?"
Severin remembered that, at the moment, the criminal organization that was later labeled as world terrorists, 'The Scar,' hadn't really made a name for themselves. But the event at the Zenith Hero Academy where they stole a key would be the beginning for them.
"They're a criminal organization that's built on the hatred of Etherion users and Heroes. They want to tear down the dominance of the Etherion users and make normal humans the true rulers of mankind."
Immediately, Ethan and Derrick lost interest. "So they're the type of revolutionary faction that thinks normal humans can rule the world?"
Ethan snorted. "They believe we should only focus on the military and the extermination of monsters and dungeons while they rule. But honestly, why worry about them? They are made up of normal humans. All growl and no fangs."
Severin wouldn't have been worried about them if, in the book, they weren't the cause of ripping the system that guards the world apart and causing the Great War with the Aberrant Singularity once again.
Of course, the evolutionary factions about the unfair treatment of the average normal humans and Etherion users had been in existence for some time now.
But what made The Scar different was that they traced the history of humanity far back and discovered something. Human science and technology. With that, they were able to create something: OPT Core.
The optimization core that they implant into their hearts, giving them power on par with Heroes.
Severin's eyes glowed. "The Scar is built on the hatred and jealousy of the Etherion users. They have their ways of getting by. If any of you do not take this seriously, then you will die tonight."
They both flinched, but before they could say anything, something hard seemed to strike the building with a loud crash of metal bending and tearing.
The whole facility shook, and the lights went off in an instant, only to come back in flickering red.
"What is that?"
"Is there an earthquake? What is going on?"
"They didn't tell us something like this was going to happen!"
The other students in the room fell to the ground and covered their heads while they tensed, ready for what was about to happen.
But Derrick and Ethan stared at Severin with their eyes wide. "They really came?"
Severin felt his gut tighten as well, and his hand trembled a little. This would be his first direct involvement in the event of the story, and it would be a lie if he said he had absolute confidence.
But as he always did before doing anything major, he took a deep breath and made his head blank, reminding himself again. '...I have planned for this... the only thing I can do now is act...'
"The Scar came with all their most powerful members. Two of them are on par with the Headless. One of them will engage the Headless while the other one, with a spatial power, creates a shield around the building to stop outside interference. That will also mess with the system, and all defensive and offensive measures in the facility will be down."
Severin met their eyes, and before they asked any questions, he spoke over them, trying his best to get the tightness out of his voice. "The actual job of getting the Key will be handled by the low-ranking members. They are already spies in this place."
Ethan's eyes might just fall off any time soon. "Spies?"
"Yes. The Scar might not be powerful now, but they have a strong spy network. One of the researchers is a spy, and two of the Class Four students as well."
Derrick took a deep breath and raised his hand in a punch. "Then what are we waiting for? Let's go crack some heads!"
"We won't be involving ourselves for now. The researchers are normal humans, and the guards shouldn't pose any trouble for the Scar members. We will let them take the key out of its vault, and it is then that we will engage," Severin said.
But he wasn't really telling them the whole truth. What he was after wasn't really the key, but something else that the members would bring out of the vault.
Two of the members of the Scar would get their lucky moments that night, and Severin was there to make sure it was his. After all, it isn't the main protagonist or the main cast that are always met with good luck.
In the early days of the book, among the Scar, there were two individuals that met with incredible luck that made them a strong cast in the future. One of them was even the future ruler of the criminal organization.
