After seeing Evelyn's appearance, he thought there was no one more beautiful than her, but he was wrong. He almost forgot that Tamamo no Mae was known for its charm and beauty.

She had long golden hair with slightly wavy tips basked in sunlight, making it look like it was sparkling. Her enchanting golden eyes were filled with wisdom and seduction.

He had read so many novels describing a jade beauty, but he never really understood it until he saw it with his own eyes. He realized this was what they meant.

He thought she would be wearing some traditional clothes, but it might be her way of adjusting to this world that she chose to wear something that blended more with the people in this world.

She wore something like a white dress going all the way to her thighs, but the stiffness looked similar to a coat instead of a dress. It was fitted neatly with a black belt on her waist.

While it wasn't as he expected, this change actually made her curve stand out more, creating a unique charm he had never seen from anyone else in this world.

More importantly, she still had a pair of fox ears and two of her tails.

"Hmm?" Mae seemed to notice something wasn't right as well. She first touched her head, noticing her ears. She then turned her head and found her tails. "Ah. It appears the ena improves my illusion instead of my shapeshifting ability. I can only reach this far. I will cover my ears and tails with my illusion for the time—!"

She abruptly stopped as Nathan grabbed her wrist and gave a thumbs up. "No. This is perfect. Thank you."

Mae paused for a moment, but Nathan's reaction, along with other divine beasts' embarrassment of their summoner, just made her chuckle. "In that case, I will stop at this point."

Nathan nodded in approval. "This is good indeed. As expected of me. You guys suck!"

Fenrir gritted his teeth before snarling, "I'm going to tell Selena!"

"Oi! I haven't even punished you for jinxing the last mission! It seems you want to do it now." Nathan glared at him.

"Let's test it, shall we? Horny brat!" Fenrir couldn't help but return to his former self when he heard Nathan's challenge.

"Dog with anger issues." Nathan harrumphed. Both of them were just glaring at each other without doing anything.

On the other hand, Anubis came to Mae, saying, "Ignore both of them right now. I'm Anubis. It's fine to call me by my name since it's more efficient in a battle. Although he looks like that, he is definitely a good summoner… no, he might be a perfect summoner, if you ignore his pervertedness."

Mae chuckled. "There's nothing wrong with someone being perverted. In this kind of world where monogamy is not strictly enforced or taught from a young age, it's normal to have this kind of feeling.

"It simply shows their strength if they could afford it. As long as he doesn't mistreat anyone around him, he's perfect the way he is."

"Oh!" Nathan overheard their conversation and immediately came to Mae, acting jokingly. "Are you an angel? You must be my angel."

"Don't spoil him please. He will become a lesser man if you spoil him too much." Nidhogg stepped forth. "Nidhogg. As I said, I don't fully trust your character, but as long as you are his familiar, I will protect you with all my might."

Jinwu nodded. "Indeed. He has to take care of a lot of things. Although there might be some resistance from his woman, I think it's best to have you around. At the very least, he won't think about another woman out there. But do you really not have an issue pledging like that to a man you just met? By the way, just call me Jinwu."

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Anubis, Nidhogg, and Jinwu. I will do my best to gain your trust, and my master is not a man I just met. I have known him longer than any of you." She shook her head. "I'm just glad that Master doesn't feel repulsive to me."

"Peng. The other one is Kun. It's a pleasure to meet you, a beast who once started as a normal animal and became a spirit beast and ultimately a divine beast. Allow me to pay my respects to a warrior who overcame all the challenging trials."

"Thank you very much." Mae smiled. "I'm the newest here, so I will work hard to catch up to everyone."

"Ehm. I have a lot of expectations for you." Nathan had a smug look on his face as he took advantage of Mae, who was sitting on her knees, by resting his head on her lap.

"My teeth and paws are itchy." Fenrir gritted his teeth. He couldn't help but remember what Nathan said at their first meeting. It truly made him want to bite him again.

Mae just let out a small chuckle without pushing Nathan away, thinking it was just a light-hearted gesture.

But she might have underestimated her master severely, as she was dumbfounded when Nathan's expression suddenly turned solemn.

"Now that the introduction is out of the way, you haven't finished your explanation about my luck. What do you mean by it was twisted? What twisted it?"

Mae's body shook as she felt chills down her spine. Nathan simply changed his nature so fast that it took her aback.

She hurriedly regained her composure and explained, "Unfortunately, I can't provide you with an answer. All I can see is your karma being twisted. I can't see what causes it. After all, you have to be careful when playing with karma. It might erase your entire existence if you make just a single mistake."

"…" Nathan frowned. It seemed everything about him, whether it was the soul contract, the two dreams, or even his luck, was unnatural. His existence was as mysterious as the aliens themselves, and he should focus on uncovering them from this point on.

Nathan closed his eyes as his tone changed to a bit more lighthearted. "In that case, do you have the memory of my two dreams? They have been plaguing my head for so long. Is it a divination, time, or something else?"
