Star Gate-Chapter 1036: A Terrifying Li Hao (IV)

As the void cut into the Great Li priest, he could only diminish his strength in response. A piece of bone floated out of his hand and disappeared. Only one of his arms remained crystalline as he continued to pummel Li Hao with punches!

The world of chaos in the void abruptly split apart. One had to say, the main priest possessed a plethora of methods to draw from and his battle strength was strong. He could grow even stronger at any time. Although that increase had much to do with the bones of Initial Martial, that was still part of his skillset.

“Retreat!” Jiang Li growled again. He punched the sky with fury. “Seniors, please leave first. We will cover your withdrawal!”

The various core origin replicas looked around with alarm. Li Hao... was terrifyingly strong! The student puppets weren’t weak either. They’d identified that the puppets were imperial descendants and as such, beings not to underestimate.

The ancients had thought that fifty new reinforcements from the city and the dozen that were already with the Great Li army would be sufficient to take down Li Hao’s group, even if it would be difficult to do so. Not to mention, they had additional help from Great Li soldiers! Who would’ve thought that there would be no hope whatsoever?

Finally... they understood why their lord had said they couldn’t just throw replicas at Li Hao.

The ancients erupted with power and beat back their opponents, whirling around to flee. Li Hao snorted at the sight. Do you guys think you can come and go as you will? Don’t even think about it! Since the Great Li king’s not here, I’ll take you guys instead!

A supernatural character appeared in Li Hao’s hand. Close at hand, Director General Wang abruptly jerked to a stop and scattered out of the way, his presence fluctuating wildly.

Li Hao had summoned the ‘dao’ character.

Nine other characters of ‘metal, wood, water, fire, earth, wind, thunder, light, and dark’ melted into the ‘dao’ character. Two hundred and thirty acupoints lit up throughout Li Hao’s body. One hundred and eighty acupoints meant that all of the thirty-six dao meridians were halfway open. Every five acupoints after that represented a fully opened dao meridian.

Two hundred and thirty meant that Li Hao had fully opened ten dao meridians. Adding nine supernatural dao meridians to that meant he’d opened nineteen dao meridians. He’d also partially opened another twenty-six dao meridians and was bolstered by fearsome power. His strength was more than twenty dao meridians and it was all part of the dao character.

Bam! A loud collision reverberated through the land as shouts from an army traveled through the air. The Great Li army had noticed the disturbance and sent out their people in response.

Li Hao didn’t pay them any attention. Huang Yu was holding down the fort there, nothing bad would result from Great Li’s actions. He was simply curious, where had the Great Li king gone?

The young man’s sword bit into Jiang Li’s arms, fracturing it with a crisp snap. Pain twisted the priest’s face, but he managed to block Li Hao’s formidable blow. He punched the sky and sent the imitation of the Mirror of Wind and Cloud flying. There was nothing preventing their escape now!

Jiang Li teetered on the verge of collapse, but he still recalled his king’s orders at this time. He had to let the ancients leave first.

“Seniors, run!” he rasped out. “Run back to the ancient city. The Great Li army is no longer safe...”

The ancient replicas didn’t need his reminder. They’d long fled out of sight; their only thought was that these Great Li people were certainly loyal. If the ancients died, that would only be the waste of a replica. But if the Great Li soldiers died, they would truly be dead.

“Run?” Li Hao gnashed his teeth with fury. You guys have come here, where do you think you’re running off to? Dream on! “Imperial Guard!”

The projection of the imperial palace manifested in the void. A small tree swayed in the air, coming down on space with a vengeance!

The world was instantly corralled and the heavens seemed to retreat. Some of the fleeing core origin replicas shrieked, “The imperial palace...”

“Hurry, some of us need to self-detonate so that the rest can get away!” Although they were just replicas, losing a replica would still deal a significant blow to their primary bodies.

This statement wasn’t met with reluctance or outright ignored. Those of New Martial were utterly resolute when it came time to make a decision, whether they were traitors or still loyal New Martial citizens.

At least eight replicas immediately detonated themselves, obliterating the projection of the imperial palace and shaking the little tree with aftershocks. The remaining figures shot away into the distance!

Li Hao frowned, irritated at the development. His side had only killed roughly two dozen replicas. These guys... no, it was the divine temple’s main priest that was really annoying.

Annoyance building, the young man struck blow after blow, wanting to claim Jiang Li’s life! So those replicas had gotten away, fine. They weren’t the primary bodies anyway. But Jiang Li had to pay with his life!

The main priest heaved a slight sigh of relief when he saw a large number of ancient replicas escape. He roared in protest and punched Li Hao, but the young man answered strongly. In addition, the void cutting into him was also a very unpleasant sensation.

Li Hao’s eyes narrowed with rage and he slashed with Stellaris, severing the priest’s other arm with a sharp crack!

Jiang Li didn’t care about his injuries. His presence swept through the area and enveloped the surviving guards and priests with darkness. He wanted to flee with them!

Li Hao regarded him coldly—there was only one thought on his mind. Jiang Li must die!

His concealed divine spirit replica materialized in the field. A tremendous presence erupted from the divine body as it landed in front of Jiang Li!

The priest’s eyes widened with horror and he inwardly groaned to himself again. The way out was blocked, so he set his jaw and summoned another Initial Martial bone, turning his legs crystalline. He kicked the divine spirit replica with dominating force!

Li Hao frowned and slashed from behind!

Jiang Li roared again, crystalline light appearing from his spine. The shadow of the Initial Martial god behind him grew more tangible. In response, the void cut into him more deeply, but there was no effort that the priest could spare to defend against that. He howled and kicked the replica to the side, then punched behind him to send Stellaris back!

Blood oozed out of Li Hao’s mouth as he constantly backed away, shocked at how high the degree of affinity was between the Initial Martial powerhouse and the priest!

The void slashed into Jiang Li again, as if furious that someone had pierced its limits.

Crunch!

One of Jiang Li’s legs was severed. He tried to scrabble after it, but the divine replica slammed a palm strike in his direction and sent him tumbling away.

He had to give up the leg then. Jiang Li fled through the air, cursing passionately to himself. This loss had been too great! His arms, a leg, and several dozen royal guards and temple priests were lost! Not to mention that several dozen core origin replicas had fallen. This ambush was a horrific failure even if they managed to kill several dozen primary bodies of the enemy in return!

The priest dragged his body through the air. Having lost a leg and two arms, the void no longer cut into him.

“Li Hao, if you dare continue the chase, I will bring out all of the divine bones!” he screeched as he fled. “I will kill all of the powerhouses under your banner even if I can’t kill you!”

Hot on the priest’s heels, Li Hao paused and looked into the distance. He watched coldly as he permitted the priest to escape. If that guy really made good on his threat and sought mutual destruction, his army would be obliterated while Li Hao would survive. Granted, the young man didn’t intend to let any of his enemies live!

Yuan Shuo and the rest flew over, still hacking up blood. “Let’s get him!” the old man spat through gritted teeth. “Since when were we afraid of threats?”

How dare that asshole threaten them!

“This is not a threat,” Jiang Li’s voice traveled from a distance. “We can continue skirmishing with our soldiers and generals. The king is of the mind to train troops with Commander Li as well. How will you do that if the army collapses upon all of our deaths? Not to mention, this place will become an abyss if I am forced to utilize all of the divine bones!”

The priest had returned to the Great Li side. “Soldiers, retreat!”

He hovered in the air, anguish and resignation flashing through his eyes. Two arms and a leg... that was the bone of an Initial Martial god! Who would’ve thought that Li Hao would be so ferocious?

Li Hao turned in another direction after one final look at the priest. The young man frowned slightly. It had been... a very weird night. Jiang Li sought to rescue the ancient replicas even at the cost of losing the bones of his god. It was very, very strange. The bones were plainly more valuable than core origin energy.

Were these guys in cahoots with the New Martial traitors since they worked so hard on the replicas’ behalf? Was the Initial Martial god one of the ancient traitors?

Li Daozong quickly flew over—he was the only one who’d chased the enemy.

“I killed the Gold Armor’s replica.” He was in a good mood. “Less than thirty replicas escaped, which means we killed at least half of them. It’s you who surprised me. You’re stronger than before!”

“Where has the Great Li king gone?” This thought occupied the greatest priority in the young man’s mind. I waited all night for him, but didn’t see a single hair of him! I would’ve utilized my full strength early on if I wasn’t wary of him making a move. None of these guys would’ve been able to run then, apart from Jiang Li.
