SSS Class Awakening: Start With A God-Level Choice System-Chapter 24: When Zombies Are Treated As Ingredients By God-Level Cooking
Chapter 24 - When Zombies Are Treated As Ingredients By God-Level Cooking
Looking at the beautiful girl using her ice superpower to fight against a horde of zombies, Ainsworth had no plans of acting like a knight in shining armor and saving the damsel in distress.
All the teachers at Edenbridge High heavily discouraged such a thankless task. As experienced awakeners, they always advised the students to only take action when there was something to gain. Otherwise, meddling in other people's business without anything in return would only make completing the otherworld mission a lot more difficult than it should be.
Even without his teachers' advice, Ainsworth's experience in his past life made him prefer to care only about his family and friends compared to the lives of others.
So while the beautiful girl was nobly and selflessly attracting the zombies' attention, Ainsworth used Freedom Of Movement (SSS) to teleport inside the convenience store.
When he arrived inside the convenience store, he only found three zombies inside it since most of the zombies were lured out by that selfless girl.
Faced with those three zombies that only had the average stats of an F+ Awakener which was comparable to the average athlete, Ainsworth didn't even need to go all out to defeat them. After all, his overall physical attributes at E+ meant that he had the durability of a building and could even destroy it with one punch.
"Three ingredients. Not the freshest." Ainsworth muttered.
The zombies lunged all at once.
"[Formless Kitchen Knives]!"
Activating his recently obtained Formless Kitchen Knives (S) skill, two white-colored knives appeared on both of Ainsworth's hands.
Due to the God-Level Cooking talent, when Ainsworth held the two kitchen knives and glanced at the three zombies running towards him, he instinctively knew how to use the kitchen knives to "butcher" and "dice" the ingredients in front of him.
A cooking recipe and cooking method for preparing a dish that used zombie meat which even removed the zombie virus and made it edible was recalled in his mind as well.
When the zombies attacked him, Ainsworth moved faster than the eye could see.
In one heartbeat, he twisted his body, the two knives flashing white arcs through the air.
He dashed past the first zombie, his right-hand blade carving a clean lateral cut through its hamstring before the left swept upward in a precise neck disjoint, severing its cervical spine. The zombie collapsed in silence.
"Primary butchery complete. Good texture, poor freshness, and zero hygiene."

The second lunged at him with a raspy groan.
Ainsworth ducked low, gliding across the floor like a blade on a whetstone.
Both knives moved in tandem—executing a primal cut at the shoulder joint, a clean disjointing maneuver. Before it could react, he pivoted, sliced down the sternum, and butterflied the torso with precision. The ribcage cracked open under the pressure—reminding him of bones gone soft from a slow braise.
"Sloppy bone structure, but tender meat if you ignore the rot."
The third zombie, more persistent than the rest, came from behind.
Without turning, Ainsworth flipped one knife into a reverse grip and thrust it backward—a spinal glide, the blade slicing clean up the spine to the skull. He followed up with a downward cross-slash that stabbed through both eye sockets.
"Bound tight. Would've made a clean roast."
As the final corpse dropped to the linoleum floor with a dull thud, the glowing knives dissipated in his hands.
Ainsworth exhaled. "No mise en place, no sanitation, and still prepped under twelve seconds. I should be charging for this."
He looked around the blood-splattered store, shrugged, and added dryly, "Next time, I want an actual kitchen. But I definitely don't want to use virus-filled zombies as ingredients."
Ainsworth preferred if he was in a magical fantasy world like those animes in the Sakura Shogunate. Having an Otherworld Mission where he, Rian, and Dante were summoned as a hero to defeat the demon king might be cliché, but it would be a dream come true.
After all, only that way, could he use his kitchen knives to dismember a dragon alive and use it as ingredients. He could even try if those orcs, who looked like green-skinned pigs, tasted like pork or not.
After eliminating those three zombies, Ainsworth was unhindered.
Using Freedom Of Movement (SSS) to pass through the shelves and all solid objects as well as doing short-distance instant teleportations, Ainsworth brushed his hands on all supplies he could find in the convenience store.
Whether it was sanitary items like napkins and toilet paper, frozen products, as well as canned food and snacks, Ainsworth snatched everything he could.
He was like a thief whirlwind, everywhere he passed through, the shelves were cleaned empty. He didn't even leave the condoms behind and stored it as well in his system inventory. Anyway, his system inventory has infinite storage so he had no scruples in using its capacity to the fullest.
The only reason why he asked his sister for a Spatial Food Storage (A) skill book was just for everyday food use and to use it as a cover for his system inventory.
And if he were ever to take out something that wasn't a food, that wasn't a problem considering his class is Freedom Freelancer which meant he could just reason it out as him having the freedom to do that but at the cost of expending more mana and aura.
After he looted the convenience store empty, Ainsworth was about to leave but before he could do so, the convenience store's door opened followed by a temperature in the convenience store dropping lower as a white cold mist wafted into it.
The source of the white cold mist was none other than the selfless girl with ice superpower who was guarding the convenience store from zombies while Ainsworth was looting!
When that beautiful girl saw the empty convenience store and Ainsworth who was inside earlier than her, she put two and two together and realized something!
"Are you an evolver with a space superpower?"
