Sovereign of the Ashes-Chapter 1010: Come Help
Chapter 1010: Come Help
“A greater deity’s divine clone?!” the God of Brute Force exclaimed in shock.
Lesser deities who wielded weak divine power were far inferior to those who wielded lesser divine power.
There was no way a divine clone of a greater deity could be weaker than a lesser deity.
In Faeloria, deities rarely sent their clone into battle —if a clone perished, it could severely impact the deity’s main body.
Now, with a strange greater deity’s clone appearing here, the God of Brute Force was certain that this being was not here for a friendly chat.
Without hesitation, it turned and bolted toward the exit of Feymous Canyon.
Sein and Lorthisra had gone to great lengths to trap this god—there was no way they would let it escape so easily.
The special arrays Sein had set up outside the canyon had been reinforced by the Spider Queen’s divine power beforehand.
Although Knox had entered this canyon easily, crashing through like a golden meteor, leaving this place was proving far more difficult.
Beneath the Spider Queen’s feet, golden threads of divine power began spreading outward in all directions like layers of spider webs.
With this, Knox’s chances of escape were dwindling by the second!
Like a helpless insect caught in a web, the more it struggled, the deeper its despair grew.
From these divine threads, Sein sensed a superimposition of debilitating effects—slowing, poisoning, confusion, drowsiness, paralysis, and more.
“A divine domain...? Who the hell are you? Why are you targeting me?” Knox demanded.
“I belong to the Wings of Nature! I serve the God of Oak...!” it added, attempting to invoke its allegiance as a shield.
In Faeloria, most deities could not survive without a faction or a powerful backer.
Even if one managed to survive this cycle of the Avatar Crisis, there was no guarantee they would survive the next.
Every cycle of the Avatar Crisis claimed the lives of the weakest among the deities.
Knox had joined the Wings of Nature over ten thousand years ago under the banner of the God of Oak, a neutral intermediate deity known for its mild temperament.
Unfortunately, the God of Oak was nothing more than an ordinary Rank Five entity. The Spider Queen did not care who it was, let alone show it any respect.
Of course, Knox never expected an intermediate deity to intimidate the Spider Queen. Its true intention was to invoke the God of Oak’s name and the forces backing it to gain leverage.
As one of Faeloria’s intermediate deities, the God of Oak was well-regarded within the Wings of Nature.
It maintained close ties with other intermediate deities of the faction, such as the Gods of Earth Elementals and Water Elementals.
Beyond that, it had a solid reputation within the Justice League—even managing to exchange words with the God of Justice.
Even Faelorian greater deities would think twice before offending an intermediate deity of such stature.
Unfortunately for Knox, the Spider Queen was not a local deity.
A cold chuckle echoed through the canyon.
The Spider Queen had made her stance clear—not with words, but with actions.
For the first time, Sein got to witness her true combat prowess. The last time she had captured him in the Underworld, she had barely exerted any effort.
With a wave of her right hand, a curved, razor-sharp blade—forged from divine energy—manifested in her grasp.
To Sein, the weapon resembled the lethal claw of a spider.
A faint purplish hue shimmered along its surface, its sharp edge pulsating with a demonic glow.
“You are merely a divine clone. Do you truly wish to cross me?” Knox growled.
It hesitated for a moment before letting out a roar, as if trying to steel itself.
“Fine! The God of Brute Force never backs down from a challenge!”
Had the Spider Queen descended in her true form, Knox would not have had the chance to speak.
Surrender or face death—those would have been its only choices.
Since this was just her clone, Knox still clung to a sliver of hope—a chance to survive.
After all, it was not entirely powerless.
Seeing that the Spider Queen had no intention of answering, Knox had no choice but to grit its teeth and face her head-on.
Retreat was never an option.
Unlike the Spider Queen’s divine domain, which gradually expanded to envelop the entire canyon, the God of Brute Force’s domain could only cover a radius of one thousand meters around itself.
This was not its divine domain’s original scale; it had been compressed to this extent under the overwhelming suppression of the Spider Queen’s divine domain.
Still, Knox’s divine domain was unique and its law was exceptionally strong.
The law of strength was pretty rare in the Astral Realm. It was a higher-grade law that granted immense battle prowess to its wielder.
However, this power came at a cost: progressing to the higher tiers of this law was agonizingly slow.
Ever since Knox had obtained this divine ability, its growth had been as slow as a crawling turtle.
Yet, in terms of individual combat strength, the God of Brute Force was far from weak—even among lesser deities.
For more than ten years, Sein had carefully searched for an ideal target to strike.
He had picked the best terrain and faction, yet the God of Brute Force was not exactly an easy target.
But that did not matter—Sein believed in the Spider Queen’s strength!
BOOM!
Under the overwhelming effect of the strength law, the Spider Queen’s clone was blasted backward hundreds of meters by Knox’s sheer power.
A massive gash tore through the steep canyon wall, a clear testament to the God of Brute Force’s devastating might.
Amidst the billowing white smoke and falling debris, the Spider Queen rose to her feet once more.
A fresh wound ran from her flawless cheek down to her collarbone.
Though she had been forced back, that brief clash of raw power had, in reality, been an advantageous exchange for the Spider Queen.
The God of Brute Force had swung its massive ax—but it failed to break through the Spider Queen’s defenses, leaving only a faint mark on her cheek.
On the other hand, three tiny puncture wounds had appeared on Knox’s neck, inflicted by the Spider Queen’s curved dagger.
Though the wounds seemed insignificant, the black blood and strange black gas seeping from them made it clear—the blade was laced with an extremely potent poison!
Feeling the sudden change within its body, Knox’s eyes turned bloodshot.
With a furious roar, it lunged at the Spider Queen once more.
Knox had to injure the Spider Queen—disrupting her clone’s origin energy—before it could break free from her divine domain.
At this moment, it was like a cornered beast—fighting with everything it had.
Since the Spider Queen had no intention of sparing Knox, it had no choice but to fight for its life.
A lesser deity unleashing its full power in a frenzied state was no easy prey, let alone one who wielded the law of strength.
As the God of Brute Force charged forward, the Spider Queen let out a shrill whistle.
In an instant, her marvelous human form twisted and transformed into a half-human, half-spider abomination.
Her upper body remained stunningly beautiful, but her lower body—with its bulbous spider abdomen and horrifying legs—was enough to send shivers down anyone’s spine.
High above the battlefield, Sein, who had been momentarily dazed, was suddenly jolted back to reality as the Spider Queen suddenly barked at him.
“What are you spacing out for? Come help!” she commanded angrily.
“Oh!” Sein blinked, quickly snapping back to his senses before summoning Yuri and her Burning Flame Unit.
Instead of diving straight into the battle between deities, the master-servant duo positioned themselves at the battlefield’s edge, providing the Spider Queen with long-range support as best as they could.
The entire canyon was soon engulfed in violent explosions and thunderous collisions.
Fortunately, the pale red barrier surrounding the canyon was able to conceal the ferocious battle within.
