Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure-Chapter 1396: Mother in law (4)
I also didn't channel that much mana into the Staff of Earth as I did this.
The only thing that was released from the Staff of Earth was a small wave of mana.
The way that the Staff of Earth controlled the earth in the first place was by releasing divine energy that grabbed the earth from the ground.
But instead of doing that, what I was doing was releasing as little of the Staff of Earth's power as possible. What I was doing was simply sending a single wave of energy from the Staff of Earth into the wall.
The wall was resistant to being manipulated by divine energy, but the thing was that it didn't actually resist the mana as it flowed through it. It seemed that it even allowed the mana to flow through quite easily.
With the way that the mana was flowing through, it really felt like there was something about this wall that even helped conduct the mana through more easily.
Though I had no idea what it was about this wall that did it.
The only thing that I knew was that since the wall was conducting the mana this easily, I would make full use of it. With this mana flowing through the wall like this, I was able to achieve what I wanted to achieve.
A small wave of mana definitely wasn't enough to cause any changes in the wall itself.
However, it did bounce back.
The second part of the Staff of Earth's power was to retrieve the mana that was released. That was part of the Staff of Earth's power because the user of the Staff of Earth needed to be able to see the things that they were controlling.
This echo effect was similar to echolocation, which allowed me to see everything that was a part of this wall.
With this echolocation, I was able to find the button that Aisha pressed earlier to open up the wall.
Though just this alone wasn't enough.
Since I had already seen the location of the button, it wasn't as if I was actually discovering something.
But there was a reason for me to do this.
It was to let me test this new ability that I had developed with the Staff of Earth.
I had never been able to do something like this before because I simply didn't have the mana control to do so. However, now that I had trained my mana control with a few lessons from Moon, it was easy for me to do this.
"Tap."
I went over to the next wall and did the same thing where I placed the tip of the Staff of Earth up against the wall.
It didn't take me long to find the button.
Though it really wasn't that impressive again since Aisha had already opened up this wall as well.
It was the next wall that really mattered.
This was the wall that she hadn't opened up yet, so now it was time to test if I could really find the buttons or not. After all, I didn't have her show me where the button was ahead of time.
This time, I took a bit longer to use the Staff of Earth's echolocation on the wall.
This time, I was focused on making sure that I found the right location of the button.
But when I was certain, I went over and pressed the button without any hesitation.
"Kachunk."

With that sound, the wall started to open just like how it had opened previously for Aisha.
"That's interesting, it seems that this staff has the ability to sense things through the earth."
I was surprised to hear this voice and I was even more surprised to find that Aisha was currently looking over my shoulder. She didn't even seem to be looking at me, it seemed that all of her attention was on the Staff of Earth that I was currently holding.
"Not only that, it seems like it even has the ability to control the earth itself."
She was just muttering to herself as if I wasn't there, but it was a bit uncomfortable with the way that she was just leaning over my shoulder like this.
Especially the part where she was pressing her chest up against my back…
This was my mother in law, so it really felt like I was crossing a line…
Turning around, I said, "Yes, this is a staff that can control the earth, but it doesn't work here because the walls are made from a kind of material that is resistant to its power. I can't use it to break us out of here."
Though I was talking to her, it didn't seem like Aisha was actually listening to me.
This was made even more evident when she suddenly reached out to grab the Staff of Earth without a single word.
I wasn't afraid since it wasn't as if she would be able to grab the Staff of Earth. Even if she was a high elf that was blessed by Vivrum, it wasn't as if she would be able to grab the Staff of Earth that easily.
Even the dwarves blessed by Terra couldn't touch his holy relic.
And it was just as I predicted as her hand went right through the Staff of Earth.
Only I was mistaken on the fact that it wouldn't be a problem.
It was a very big problem in the end…
After seeing her hand pass through the Staff of Earth, there was a surprised look that appeared on Aisha's face. But that surprised look was quickly replaced with eyes that were filled with excitement.
She reached out again as if she wanted to grab the Staff of Earth once more, but her hand went through again.
Though her hand went through the Staff of Earth again and again, it didn't seem like Aisha was about to give up.
"Just what is this? How is this thing doing this?" She said in an excited voice while doing this.
