Bryan didn’t take long before returning with an expensive-looking bottle of foreign wine in hand.

“Of course, since we’ve met, it’s only natural to offer a toast.” Bryan smiled and nodded. Even if they hadn’t planned for it, now that they were at his hotel and he was the host, it was his duty to offer a toast, especially to esteemed guests like Carolline’s family and relatives.

However, all were slightly taken aback as they saw Bryan Hawkins following Carolline inside.
Henry Ruiz and Emily Hill might not be aware of much about Bryan Hawkins or the Hawkins family, but Ryan and Blake Ruiz, who had both been fighting in the business world, knew this formidable foe quite well. After toasting Grandfather Ruiz, Bryan offered a toast to Henry Ruiz and Emily Hill, then Carolline’s second and third uncles and aunts and finally the younger generation of the Ruiz family.
Carolline thought Bryan had had enough to drink, but he hadn’t finished yet. He stepped in front of Simon and said, “Thank you.”
Others might not understand the significance of those two simple words, but Carolline blushed, and Simon knew that the ‘thank you’ was spoken on her behalf.
But why was this man allowed to express gratitude to him on Carolline’s behalf?
Simon didn’t quite understand, but in the end, he raised his glass, drank the wine, and accepted Bryan’s thanks.
