Chapter 60 -60: Do You Still Like It?
“What is this?” Carolline asked in confusion.
“I passed by a jewelry store and saw this jade bracelet. I thought it would suit you well, so I bought it. Do you still like it?” Bryan said casually.
He didn’t think it was necessary for Carolline to know how he got the jade bracelet. As long as he felt it was worth it, that was enough. For some reason, he felt that if Carolline knew the real value of the bracelet, she probably wouldn’t accept it easily.
So, it was better to tell her that it was just a decoration bought from a store, just like any other ornament.
“…” Carolline’s heart finally settled. So, this jade bracelet was probably not real jade, just a similar decoration. With that, she could accept it without worry, “Thank you.”
However, even if it was just an ornament, her job would not allow her to wear it. But since it was a gift from him, she would treasure it as a prized possession.
After all, this was considered the first gift he gave her since they got married.
Bryan didn’t say anything, implying that he accepted her gratitude.
The two walked towards the airport entrance, where the Maybach Bryan drove to the tea house that day was parked. Bryan took the key from a man in a work uniform and personally drove the car with Carolline in the passenger seat.
The front of the car wasn’t as spacious as the back, but it was much more comfortable compared to other cars.
Today, Bryan didn’t want anyone to disturb them. Although it was a secret marriage, this was their first night together after getting married. Even if nothing happened, Bryan wanted to spend the evening alone with Carolline.
This was to make up for the fact that she had to accept his absence for so long after their wedding.
The silver-black Maybach sped like a ferocious tiger towards Bluen Lake Wonderland. On the way, the two didn’t have any conversation. Carolline looked out the window, still somewhat excited.
For a moment, she couldn’t control her thoughts and started daydreaming about what their first night together would be like and how they would spend it. She hadn’t made any preparations for this because she hadn’t expected them to spend a night together – she thought they would only have dinner together at most.
As the car neared the entrance to Bluen Lake Wonderland, Bryan suddenly made a left turn. Carolline didn’t notice in time and, due to the car’s inertia and not being seated properly, she collided with the car door, causing some pain in her lower back on the right side.
But Carolline didn’t say anything – who could she blame? It was her fault for not paying attention and daydreaming while sitting in the car.
“Are you okay? I just remembered that there might not be anything at home. Let’s go to the supermarket first. Can you cook?” Bryan asked uncertainly. He originally planned to eat out, but after getting into the car, he suddenly wanted to eat a home-cooked meal.
The villa had servants who could cook, but he didn’t want too many people to know about his return today, even his own servants. So, he asked Xavier to give the servants a few days off.
It was the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day, after all – giving them a few days off made sense.
“Yes, I can, but I can’t compare to the chefs at my grandmother’s house.” Carolline nodded. She knew how to do housework because Emily Hill and Henry Ruiz had spoiled her, but they never neglected teaching her the necessary skills.
The car slowed down, and Bryan raised his head and looked at Carolline with a slightly raised eyebrow. Carolline immediately realized what she had just said and lowered her head, her face flushed red as she awkwardly explained, “I… I meant Bryan’s grandmother’s house, I mean… just…”
“You should call her grandmother. In front of me, there’s no need to add ‘Bryan’.” Bryan smiled, turned his head to look out the car window, and chose a parking space.
This was a department store, with a large supermarket occupying the basement and sub-basement floors – it had everything they needed.
The couple took the elevator into the department store, then took the internal elevator down to the supermarket. Before entering, Bryan grabbed a shopping cart.
“I’ll push it instead.” Seeing Bryan in his well-fitted suit pushing the cart, Carolline thought it didn’t match his image. Of the two of them, she seemed more suited for this.
“You’re in charge of picking things out. This isn’t my first time doing this; it’s okay.” Bryan naturally saw her concern and playfully poked her nose. Carolline felt as if she had been shocked and froze for a while.
It took Bryan quite some time to realize that Carolline hadn’t caught up with him. He turned to find her standing in a daze. He couldn’t help but smile. “Are you not coming? Do you want me to have them page you over the loudspeaker later?”
Carolline came to her senses and saw that the people around them were staring at her. Feeling awkward, she hurriedly followed him.
Bryan watched Carolline catch up. She hung her head low, and her earlobes were red – she looked so cute. This put him in an even better mood.
Carolline didn’t know what Bryan was thinking. She felt deeply embarrassed, as if she had become the center of attention.

Suddenly, Bryan reached out and pulled her closer. Carolline’s right hand naturally hung over Bryan’s left wrist. Her face turned even redder, while Bryan remained calm.
“Let’s go.” Seeing that Carolline didn’t want to move, Bryan sighed slightly. Was it just a little tease that had her so stunned?
“Oh.” Carolline nodded dumbly, following Bryan’s pace as they both blended into the crowd.
