Chapter 47 -47: Such Good Luck

Carolline Ruiz and Simon Carrington agreed to meet at a western restaurant. Simon originally wanted to pick her up, but Carolline refused.

They decided to meet at six-thirty in the evening. During the day, Carolline went to the Bluen Lake Wonderland by Xavier Estrada’s car. As the name suggests, there’s a beautiful artificial lake called Bluen Lake.

Then, the designer got inspiration from a fairy tale and decided to name it Bluen Lake Wonderland.

Every villa here looks like a western castle, with beautiful exteriors and even more beautiful interiors. Although the location is not the best, every square inch is still very precious and valuable.

Carolline was not picky about decoration. Besides, if she was not satisfied with the decoration here, she would feel disgusted with herself.

Xavier had something to do at noon, so he left. Carolline cooked lunch for herself in the villa. The villa was not too big, so Bryan Hawkins hadn’t hired any servants yet, only an hourly worker and a gardener, both of whom were also hourly workers.

After eating lunch, Carolline casually chose a room for a nap. The bed was very soft and heart-shaped. She slept in the middle and felt very comfortable. She ended up sleeping for three to four hours.

When she woke up, she checked the time, hurriedly called a taxi, and rushed to the western restaurant.

Simon arrived early, and Carolline was five minutes late. She apologized, “I’m sorry, I’m late.”

“It’s okay. Being late is a privilege every girl should have.” Simon was generous and didn’t mind her tardiness.

Simon even helped her pull out her chair. Carolline sat down, and he went back to his seat. A waiter brought the meal that Simon had ordered for her, and everything was just right.

“I ordered a black pepper steak for you. Mine is plain. If you don’t like it, we can exchange.” They spread the white cloth, and Simon spoke slowly.

“Thank you, I really like black pepper.” Carolline shook her head. She would also order black pepper if she ordered herself.

“That’s good.” Simon was relieved.

Carolline was very focused on eating, and Simon occasionally looked up at her, asking if she needed anything else.

Carolline shook her head. A palm-sized steak, Italian pasta, and a fried egg were enough for her; she wasn’t used to eating a lot at night.

Simon did not force her. He added a portion of pasta for himself, and ordered an ice cream for Carolline in the end.

Carolline accepted that. From this point of view, she knew that Simon must be quite good with women, otherwise he wouldn’t have taken care of her so thoughtfully.

Simon was handsome, young, and talented. He was rich, good-looking, and successful. What woman wouldn’t like such a man? Naturally, he had been in several relationships, but none of the women had ever made him take the initiative like he did with Carolline. She was the first one.

After finishing the meal, Carolline took the initiative to ring the bell and took out her wallet.

“Carolline, are you trying to treat me? When I’m out, I’m not used to being treated by women.” Simon spoke the truth. He was a bit of a chauvinist. He did not accept the modern concept of going Dutch between husband and wife.

As long as he accepted a woman, whether passively or actively, he believed as a man, he should be responsible for the expenses when going out. This was also why he was so popular with women; he was never stingy towards them.

“Mr. Carrington, we agreed that I would treat you today to thank you for saving my life.” Carolline insisted. She didn’t like owing people favors, and she already owed Simon one. If he treated her now, wouldn’t she owe him even more?

“You don’t have to. I’m actually glad that criminal gave me such an opportunity.” Simon looked deeply into Carolline’s eyes and said those words.

Carolline was not a fool, although she was a bit stunned, but she quickly reacted. The bruise on her neck hadn’t completely faded after three days. Thinking of the scene that day still gave her lingering fears.

Simon didn’t look at her for too long. He called the waiter over to pay the bill and casually said, “Carolline, would you like to go to a movie together later? I’ve booked the movie tickets already.”

With these words, he had directly cut off Carolline’s reason to refuse. Since he had already bought the tickets, how could Carolline refuse?

“Alright.” Carolline agreed, even if reluctantly.

At this moment, the waiter brought their bill, and Simon took it without checking and put it in his bag. The two of them left the restaurant side by side.

Xavier Estrada entered the luxurious western restaurant with a group of people at this time. He saw Carolline and Simon Carrington by her side as soon as he walked in.

Simon didn’t know Xavier, but Carolline bowed her head guiltily. She sighed helplessly at her luck.

She had met Xavier in the villa in the morning, and now she ran into him again at night.

Fortunately, Xavier didn’t say anything. He just glanced at Carolline and Simon and went past them. Carolline, however, felt guilty like a thief. She had concealed her secret marriage to Bryan Cooper from everyone, but Xavier knew the truth.

Being seen by Xavier felt no different than being seen by Bryan.
