Chapter 204: Chapter 204: Elevator, Iron Blood Pyramid

Kael followed the scent and sound of the law, paying close attention to the areas where it was most prevalent and the areas where it wasn’t.

He and Chloe followed the paths of the wide hallways and interacting halls. The pyramid was really big and Kael noticed that it had been built in a certain kind of way.

The ceilings were tall, the hallways were wide, the halls were exceptionally large, and the doorways were all very big.

Everything was built with the habitants having really large bodies in mind. This place was able to hold the large frames of the lions without them always colliding with the walls whenever they moved.

The black marble floor was very hard and Kael noticed that no matter how he pressed, his claws couldn’t leave scratches on it.

After some time, the two of them finally arrived at a hall that was quite different from the rest.

This hall had a circular contraption in the center and a wide space in the ceiling. The wide empty space in the ceiling was the same width as the contraption in the hallway.

The contraption itself was circular. The top half was made of a tinted green glass material and the lower half was just a circular, black, base.

"An elevator," Chloe mentioned. Kael nodded, the scent of the law of Conquering was coming from the hole in the ceiling and it was overall stronger in this room.

When they got closer, the doors of the contraption automatically opened for them. There were no hinges or levers used, the doors just pushed forward slightly and slid to the sides with a tiny gap between them and the main elevator body.

Kael walked in cautiously, taking note of the green-tinted glass and the ground. Despite how shiny the ground was, it wasn’t slippery and still had a lot of friction keeping Kael’s form stable.

Just like the whole pyramid, the magic elevator was also designed to accommodate the large size of the lions. Kael even had a feeling that he was a bit too small for this elevator, his head wasn’t even reaching the mid-section of the elevator.

He was just talking enough to look over the black metal base, at least, Chloe could see his head through the green-tinted glass.

Chloe followed after him and the elevator door closed behind her. She stood beside Kael, waiting for something.

Almost at the time she was wondering when it would appear, magic energy started gathering in front of their face.

The green-tinted glass lit up lightly and a triangular diagram of the pyramid appeared on it.

"Hmm, maybe the magic energy is running low..." Chloe muttered.

The two-dimensional glowing diagram on the glass formed at a position higher than Kael’s head, so Kael had to step back so that he could see the triangular diagram clearly.

The diagram was clearly meant to be seen by a being much bigger than Kael, a bigger lion who could look at the diagram at the same eye level.

Kael didn’t think too much about it though, he stared at the faintly glowing diagram of the pyramid and saw that it demarcated the levels of the pyramid.

However, Kael could not understand the writings and characters, he had never seen the insides of a pyramid before nor did he understand the written lion language.

"What are these?" He asked Chloe who seemed to be more familiar with this magic technology.

"Oh, these are just the levels of the pyramid.

The first and base level is where we are currently and it is the general area and also has general access points into the pyramid for all lions.

Other levels have access points from her outside but we wouldn’t have been able to enter through them because of the standard settings. That’s why it’s good that we tried to enter from the base

The second level is filled with various resting places for unimportant lions and lionesses, maybe Lion Lords and guest lions.

Then the third level is the biggest, it has various rooms like workshops, storages, indoor gardens, experimenting rooms, training rooms, libraries, hangars for magic shuttles, and some other stuff.

The fourth level is just the resting space for the special lions or lionesses, probably reserved for the princes or consorts.

Above that is the fifth level which is the control center for the whole pyramid and probably things beyond. That is where things like the magical defense mechanisms and elevator operators are controlled from.

The highest level for this pyramid is the sixth level and since it was owned by a lion king, that should be where the throne room is."

Chloe explained it to Kael in a way that she was sure he would understand. However, Kael found her explanation a little too basic, as though she was leaving out complicated details, forgetting that he had the brain of a Magus lion.

Chloe was just reading the writings beside the triangular diagram and summarizing it for him.

Some of her words were just guesses, all those things that she said were in the third level were not confirmed, she just knew it was the Activities Level among the other levels.

"What’s that there?" Kael asked while looking at a particular writing underneath the pyramid diagram. The written characters were black but emitted a red light, it was an intriguing magic trick that dealt with the manipulation of light.

Chloe followed Kael’s line of sight and saw the black words emitting red lights. "Iron Blood Pyramid," Chloe read out loud.

"That should be the name of this pyramid, makes sense given the color theme of black and red," Chloe added.

"Hmm, do all pyramids have names?" Kael asked.

"No, it depends on whether the owner feels like naming his pyramid or not." She responded.

"Okay then, let’s go to the sixth floor," Kael said. As if automatically reading his spirit signature wave, the elevator vibrated all of a sudden and the diagram flashed brightly.

"What’s wrong?" Kael looked around, he hadn’t touched anything at all.

"Here, telepathy is like a remote, since you don’t have your humanoid’s form’s fingers," Chloe said.

"The elevator reads and processes every telepathic wave you send out and treats it as an order

You have to keep a private channel inside this pyramid. If not, you will find yourself accidentally activating some mechanics without intending to any time you use certain keywords." She added.

"Okay, but why didn’t it move?" Kael asked. He didn’t know how the elevator worked but now he did and he was sure that he had intended to go to the sixth level. Yet the elevator merely vibrated a bit but didn’t move anywhere.

"Yes, that’s because this elevator cannot take you directly to the sixth level. Don’t you think it would be weird if everyone could just take an elevator and go straight to the throne room?" Chloe asked with a smile.

Kael found it to make sense, there had to be some kind of exclusivity, "Where can we find an elevator that goes to the sixth level,"

Kael found it common sense that what he was looking for would be on the sixth level, if it wasn’t then he could just look through other levels.

"Well, the highest level we can go to with this elevator is the third level, the Activities Level.

We can look for the elevator that goes to the sixth level from there. It is also an opportunity to check out any treasures lying around other than the heavenly beacons,"

Kael’s ears perked up at the mention of treasures, that was logical.

"If we are going to find any leftover treasures, we would have to start from the third level, can’t afford to lose on both sides, right?" Chloe turned to Kael for confirmation.

Kael nodded his head silently, Chloe then turned to the triangular diagram and released her telepathic wave, "Third level,"

The elevator instantly reacted to her words and began moving. The magic-powered machine moved, floating upwards and into the fitted hole in the ceiling.

Through the transparency of the green-tinted wall, Kael could see that they were rising, but he couldn’t feel anything. He didn’t have that distinct feeling that he was inside a rising elevator at all.

They passed through the decking that was more than ten meters thick, more than that even. Soon, they found themselves in the second level and still rising.

The second level had the same aesthetics as the first level. Red ceiling, grey walls, and black marble floor. The only difference was that, unlike the first layer, this level actually had rooms.

Based on how big the pyramid was, Kael guessed that there had to be hundreds of rooms on this level.

Kael and Chloe didn’t stay behind to check them out, they passed through the gap in the ceiling and after ascending through another stupidly thick decking, they ascended to the third level.

As soon as they arrived here and the elevator settled, the doors pushed out slightly and slid open for them to walk out.

However, Kael had barely walked out of the elevator when his eyes opened wide in shock.

Chloe looked over and glanced at what he was seeing, immediately, she smiled with barely contained excitement.

"Kael, I think we just found one treasure,"
