Regarding her and Ruby’s kidnapping, Ella had not joined the dots at first because there were some missing pieces in the puzzle.

Ella rubbed her eye and sat on the bed, tucked within the comfort of the fluffy blankets, ’’I slept for so long...’’ she yawned, "Baby, I thought you were working in the study. Why did you shift here?"

"Grandma wanted me to.’’

"Grandma asked you to work here?" Ella blinked. Why didn’t this information add up to what she knew about Grandma King?

The old lady rarely disturbed Adrian when he worked. Unless it was something urgent, she would keep the servants from bothering him as well.

When Adrian worked, she tried to give him enough space so that he would finish his work and catch a little rest, even for a few minutes.

’’Second Master, the Old Madam is asking you over for supper. She also wanted me to check if Miss Yu was awake so you can both go over together,’’ The servants were too afraid of coming here hence he was the one who had to offer his head under the guillotine.

After freshening up, Ella accompanied Adrian and went downstairs.

On her way, she noticed that the old lady seemed to be concerned about something as she talked to the servant, ’’What? He doesn’t want supper?"

The servant lowered her head, shaking it slowly.

Old Madam King sighed, ’’Forget it then...’’

When she looked over and spotted Adrian and Ella, her eyes lit up, ’’Come over. Quickly come over.’’

Adrian sat on the single throne chair while Ella sat beside the old lady on the long couch, ’’Grandma, you should have woken me up earlier. I came here to keep you company but I ended up sleeping for the most of the day.’’

’’Aye, that’s fine,’’ Old Madam King waved her hand, ’’In any case, you are staying for the night. You can keep me company for all that you wish.’’

Staying for the night? But she had to go to the university tomorrow... However, seeing the old lady’s bright smile, Ella dropped the thought.

’’She has to go to university,’’ Adrian uttered calmly.

Ella looked at the man in surprise, not expecting him to remember or speak up, considering the fact that he was the most reluctant to send her there.

Old Madam looked over at her grandson, ’’Look at me. You told me you were 22 and I did not consider this at all...’’

"You don’t have to worry about it, Grandma. We can stay for the night,’’ Ella comforted her.

Seeing the Old Lady’s face, Ella sighed.

Her situation in the university was already precarious. One more day of absence would can’t hurt more.

Old Madam nodded, ’’How about this? You stay for the night and leave early in the morning? Little Ian will make all the arrangements for you to not miss the class.’’

Ella glanced at Adrian who was looking at her, seemingly not disagreeing with the Old Madam’s offers.
