Reborn into Beast Tamer Clan with Monsters-Only Affinity-Chapter 53: Pity
Chapter 53: Chapter 53: Pity
Cyruz’s eyes darkened, his anger boiling past the point of control. With a sudden, furious growl, he slammed both palms down on the long dining table—this time harder than before. Plates clattered, silverware jumped, and several small dishes slid across the surface, tumbling down and shattering on the floor.
"You always act like you’re better than everyone!" Cyruz yelled, his voice echoing "You don’t care about anyone but yourself, and now you’re fooling Ellory too?! She’s just four years old, How dare you?! She doesn’t know how cruel you really are!"
But in the middle of his outburst, a small sound broke the tension.
A sniff.
Then another.
They all turned to see Ellory kneeling quietly on the floor, her tiny hands trying to scoop up the ruined dessert with trembling fingers.
Millie was the first to react, rushing to her side and gently trying to lift her up. Elias followed, his expression deeply concerned as he knelt beside her, whispering softly, "Young Lady Ellory, please don’t..."
Cyruz’s anger vanished in an instant, replaced by a cold wave of regret crashing down on him. He stumbled forward, crouching beside Ellory, his voice faltering.
"Ellory... I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to— It’s just, It’s unfair" he paused, struggling with the guilt. "I’m always here for you, you know that, right? Not like him. He doesn’t care. He never appreciates anything you do. But me... I’ve always been here."
Ellory slowly looked up at him, her eyes still wet—but it wasn’t sadness that stared back.
It was pure, unfiltered hatred.
Her voice cracked slightly, but it was steady. "I really, really hate you."
Those five words hit Cyruz harder than anything Axelius had ever said.
He froze in place, stunned as Ellory turned and ran out of the dining hall, her small feet pattering against the floor, followed closely by Millie, Elias, and the other attendants who had been standing by the walls. Her pink dress fluttered behind her like a banner of heartbreak.
Cyruz bit down on his lip, drawing blood. His hands trembled, then clenched into his hair as he dropped lower to the ground, face pale. Without another word, he stood and dashed after her, shouting desperately,
"Ellory! Wait! Please!"
The doors slammed shut behind him. For a long moment, only silence remained.
Owen clicked his tongue and leaned back in his chair with a sigh. "Tsk, tsk, tsk. Look what you did, Axel."
Axelius, now leaning lazily in his seat, calmly placed his utensils down and wiped his mouth.
"What?" he replied with a blank tone. "I didn’t do anything."
They started walking down the corridor soon after. Owen hovered beside him, then bounced up lightly and landed on Axelius’s head. ƒгeewёbnovel.com
"You provoked Cyruz," Owen muttered, "You shouldn’t have done that."
Axelius gave a nonchalant shrug, eyes forward. "It already happened. Besides, it’s his fault. He’s too easy to provoke. Pathetic. He acts more like a peasant than a noble."
Owen gave a sharp little laugh. "You talk like you know a lot about nobles."
Axelius’s voice lowered slightly, "With you rambling about every noble book you’ve read—even while zombies were chasing us? It’s hard not to learn something. Even if I didn’t want to, all of it’s stuck in my brain now."
Owen grinned. "Oh right. I didn’t think you were actually listening to me."
Axelius rolled his eyes. "You read every genre and summarized every single book to me. For nineteen years. At least 80 percent of our time together was you talking about those books."
Owen let out another laugh, "You make it sound like I bored you to death."
They reached the garden soon after. The sun was warm but not harsh, casting soft light over the leaves. Axelius walked over to a large tree and sat beneath it, leaning against the trunk with a soft sigh. Millie and Elias stood nearby, quietly watching the surroundings without speaking. The wind rustled the leaves gently.
Owen hovered in the air for a moment before floating down to sit on a low branch. "Hey, about your Primal Veil Core..."
Axelius sat up straight at that, suddenly alert. "I almost forgot about it," he said, a rare smirk forming. "From one-star to three-star cycle in one go... I jumped levels."
He chuckled lightly to himself, almost in disbelief.
"Now..." he muttered, glancing sideways at Elias. "To test it properly, I need Elias to leave me alone for a while."
"Try doing it in your mind," Owen suggested again, his gooey body bobbing gently in the air as he floated beside Axelius. "Since meditation is one of your methods, this might help you focus better... Maybe even stabilize your core."
Axelius didn’t respond right away. Instead, he slowly looked up at the sky, then at Owen... and a dangerous grin started to spread across his face.
Owen blinked—well, as much as a slime could blink—and suddenly floated backward, sensing the familiar shift in atmosphere. "H-Hey, wait. What’s with that grin? That’s not your thinking face—that’s your evil face!"
Without saying anything, Axelius stood up from under the tree. He dusted off his robe with one hand while the other reached up toward Owen.
"Don’t tell me—no. No, no, no—" Owen panicked, trying to float higher, but it was too late.
Smack!
Axelius slammed his palm right on top of Owen, squishing the slime flat against the grass with a low, villain-like chuckle.
"It’s time, Owen," he said, voice deep and mocking as he slowly added more pressure to his palm. "Time for you to become... my loyal servant. HAHAHA!"
"YOU PSYCHO!" Owen squirmed beneath his hand, his slime body wobbling like jelly. "Let me go, you walking disaster! You can’t just force someone into servanthood! I have rights—even if I’m dead!"
Axelius only pressed harder, now stepping on the poor slime with his foot for extra dominance, his wild laughter ringing through the quiet garden like thunder.
Meanwhile, a short distance away, Elias and Millie both turned toward the sound. Axelius, laughing like a villain, seemed to be having a full conversation with himself. From their point of view, it looked... concerning.
Millie’s worried eyes followed him, her hands nervously clasped together. "Sir Elias... has the young master always been like this? I really think something’s wrong. He talks to himself more than before, and now he’s laughing like a madman."
Elias calmly pulled off his glasses again, wiping the lenses with his handkerchief in a slow, practiced rhythm before placing them back on. "Well," he said calmly, "when I was young, I also had a pretend friend. I think most children go through a phase like that. It helps them cope or express themselves."
Millie’s expression softened into pity. "Still, seeing him like that... I can’t help but feel a little sad. He really doesn’t have anyone his age around, does he?"
She let out a quiet sigh as Axelius laughed again, Owen screamed in the background, "YOU’RE A MONSTER! LET ME GO, YOU DEMON CHILD!"
Millie whispered to herself, almost like a wish, "Oh, how I wish I could do something to help..."
Axelius proudly posed on top of Owen’s flattened form while Owen grumbled, How is this hurting...? This is spiritual bullying, I swear."
