Rebirth: Revenge of the abandoned heirress-Chapter 77: Looking wealthy
Chapter 77 - Looking wealthy
"How do I look?" Sebastian Crowne asked the same question for the thousandth time.
"You look very handsome. Perfect, Brother. Your mere style can steal the hearts of countless women. You look more handsome than a Korean idol." Elias eyes were groggy. His voice was raspy and less cheerful than he intended it to be. God, he felt so sleepy. But there was no way he could retire before nine a.m.
"At least I'm not the only one suffering in this Hell," he mumbled and glanced at Hong Kong's ten best stylists standing in a line, looking like they were about to cry. They were continuously wiping their sweat, trying to please the impossible man.
"This is not it..." Sebastian Crowne threw away his coat.
All the stylists' faces looked like they were in great pain. But they could not even complain.
Another hour passed by as they did their best to dress up President Crowne. After trying more than a dozen outfits, Sebastian finally looked like he felt satisfied.
"Marvelous, Brother! You look marvelous! I know women better, and I can say with certainty that any woman who sees you will fall on her knees kissing your feet..." Elias wanted to butter up his brother so that he wouldn't change his mind. The stylists secretly praised Elias in their hearts. The young man had such a kind heart — saving them in their despair.
But to Elias' terror, his brother gave him a cold glare.
"Jazmine is not just any woman."
Elias felt cold. "Of course! Of course! Jazmine is the most wonderful woman in the whole of country to be able to gather your interest!" He must be careful with his words from now on. Elias shuddered. Ah... so scary!
After a silence, Sebastian said, "In the whole world."
"Huh...? Why not! Why not! Sister-in-law is the most wonderful woman in the whole world!" He purposely called her sister-in-law and saw his brother's mood improve a bit. Seeing the opportunity, he asked, "So can I leave now?"
"No."
"Why not?"
"Since you seem to know women better than me, I want you to arrange a restaurant for dinner."
...
When Jazmine suddenly entered the room, they both were momentarily stunned to silence.
"How long have you been outside?"

"I just came. Why do you ask?" Jazmine frowned and then raised her eyebrow. "Have you two been plotting something against me?"
"N-No. What could we possibly plot?" Amelia gave an awkward laugh.
Frank sighed. "She knows what we talked about." Being perceptive, he easily read Jazmine's fake expressions. "Since you know already, we'll ask directly. Have you been seeing someone?"
"If you have, please make sure to keep it secret from the media and especially that David Anderson jerk. I don't want them to have an excuse to bully you."
Jazmine smiled at her friends and joked, "Are you two not worried at all that your friend is cheating on her husband?" Such wonderful friends she had.
"It is true then!" Frank sounded shocked. Jazmine thought he was just being dramatic.
"See? I told you!"
"I didn't say I was seeing someone. Besides, I'm not here for that." Jazmine walked to the couches. "Earlier that day, I heard Caroline Anderson saying that the perfume brand spokesmanship would go to her with certainty. She even said that President Crowne showed interest in her... Is that true?" Jazmine wanted to strike a deal with that President Crowne. Before that, she wanted to gather as much information about him as she could.
If he actually admired Caroline, then she would have second thoughts about selling the real estate to him.
"Did she tell you that?" Amelia laughed. "Oh my God! How could someone be so delusional? Right... I saw that famous President Crowne talking to her once when she pestered him for some time. But there was anything but interest in his eyes. I see it now. That President Crowne is relatively a cold person with mostly an expressionless face, so his emotions are hard to read. Caroline must have misunderstood him."
"So what was really his expression?"
"I can tell you with certainty that he didn't even bother to look at her. Only once he heard her name did he look up. But there was nothing like admiration in his eyes. I was close by, so I saw it clearly. It felt more like a killing intent. Even from a distance, I felt the chill. He asked a couple of questions, and she continued to ramble. If I was her, I would have already left the place after seeing that look in his eyes. To be given such a terrifying look from such a scary person... I would rather stay away from him rather than trying to flatter him."
When Jazmine listened to that, for some reason, she felt happy. She couldn't explain her happiness.
"Why did you ask, Jazmine?" Frank asked.
"I was just worried that Caroline might get a step ahead of Amelia if she won the spokesmanship. But according to your explanation, it seems most unlikely. So there is nothing to worry about."
Later, despite Amelia's relentless persuasion, Jazmine didn't reveal the identity of the man who was in her room last night. In the end, Amelia even used all the threats that came to her mind but to no avail. She could only give up with a puff.
After returning to her room, Jazmine took a quick bath. Her eyes wandered to the clock. It was eight a.m. With a smile, she called Emily Carrol.
"Have you brought everything I asked you for?"
"Yes, President. Everything's ready. I'm on my way to personally deliver it."
"And the car...?"
"In the garage."
"Good." Jazmine smiled and hung up.
After ten minutes, Emily arrived with different boxes. Jazmine had just gotten out after taking a bath. Jazmine opened the box and took out a very expensive dress.
Jazmine's eyes sparkled with glee as she readied herself. Tonight, she was going to look her prettiest and act wealthy to make him feel inferior.
Or so... she supposed.
