Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster-Chapter 54: Accidentally Meeting The Future Sword Saint
Rael idly watched the fights happen, and from time to time, he flashed a glance toward Chop-E.
To his surprise...
<Crazed Wasp (x7) [Level 55] Killed! Experience: +42,904>
<+21,452 Trell Acquired>
It was killing those monsters easily, even if they were weak.
Also, since the construct was the one killing the monsters, he gained experience for both himself and the Crystal Genesis skill.
Safe to say, if he were to create a dungeon-clearing army in the future, Chop-E would be their leader.
Despite that, he was not left with many things to do, except for watching the fights unfold.
Or so he thought—until the sight of overwhelmed soldiers greeted him, so he had no choice but to head over to them.
—Deadly Beetle [Level 62] [27,800/27,800 HP]
—Lizardman [Level 68] [40,700/40,700 HP]
There were a few monsters like that, and since he wanted to deal with them fast, Rael merely ran up to them and used Fractured Prism.
[MP -29,500 161,700/1,761,200 (1x Fractured Prism)]
A single one was enough to draw their attention—and even kill a few in the process.
<Deadly Beetle (x6) [Level 62] Killed! Experience: +42,461>
<+21,230 Trell Acquired>
<Lizardman (x11) [Level 68] Killed! Experience: +86,970>
<+43,485 Trell Acquired>
<Level: 82 → 84>
<+1,600 Trell Bonus>
As for the others? They ran away once they noticed him.
It was an annoying cycle, and there wasn't much he could do about it.
He'd just leave it in Chop-E's hands instead.
"Are you alright?" Rael asked, walking up to the guard.
He had a cut on his shoulder, but it didn't seem that deep.
However...
"Fuck, I think I'm going to die! That lizard bastard nicked me across my arm—I might have to cut it off!"
Rael tilted his head. That cut barely even pierced the skin, though?
But he didn't point that out. Instead, Rael ignored the guards in this post and went to the next.
However, midway through, he noticed a particular figure—making him stop dead in his tracks.
A woman with long golden hair and beautiful blue eyes. She had her hand gently resting on the hilt of her sword as she stared at the fights from the sidelines.
Is that fucking Evelyn Ardent? Rael thought, startled.
She was the one who would become the Sword Saint in the future, and people would be able to get an Epic-ranked class from her if she took them under her wing.
Safe to say, Evelyn was overpowered, but at the moment, she still seemed like an unknown vice-captain of a random Yrgon division.
Of course, once an opportunity like that presented itself, Rael would not back away.
Therefore, he approached Evelyn and stood beside her, making her slightly puzzled.
"Can I help you?" Evelyn asked, as she began looking him up and down. "You're that guy from earlier, right? The one with those weird tornados?"
"That would be me," Rael replied with a nod, before deciding to be straightforward. "What do you think the essence of loyalty is?"
Hearing that, she froze—turning to him suspiciously.
"Loyalty is gained, not bought... Who are you?"
"I'm a very greedy person," Rael replied with a smile, pulling his hood down so his hair would not be as visible. "And I would like to extend a proposal to you. In exchange for joining me, I'll grant you any one wish that is within my limits."
"And what are your limits, mister...?"
"Call me Arel. You don't need to know who I am for the time being," Rael said flatly. "Just think of something, and I'll get back to you later."
"Can you find the ones responsible for killing my parents? If you can do that, I promise I will consider your offer," Evelyn replied seriously as she tightened the grip on her hilt.
Rael almost wanted to laugh.
After all...
Just how perfect is my timing...? I will have the Faceless One on my side soon. The same person who can dig up the past of anything or anyone... Rael thought, calming his breaths as he nodded.
"Any details? Names? Date perhaps?"
Evelyn's brows twitched as she leaned in, whispering. "My mother's name was Seraphina, and my father was Thalric. Both of them had the surname Ardent, and they died right as I was born—exactly 19 years ago."
The Ardents, 19 years ago... Rael noted inside his mind. "The next time we meet, I will have that information ready for you. See you then."
With that, he left the stunned Evelyn and returned to the battlefield.
The monsters had noticeably dwindled, and Linlin was almost done butchering the Drake.
Can I kill steal? Rael pondered before sighing. Can't get there in time, sadly.
His MP was slowly being restored, and in the meantime, he chose to admire his creation.
<Dung Frog (x13) [Level 58] Killed! Experience: +97,988>
<+48,994 Trell Acquired>
<Level: 84 → 85>
<+800 Trell Bonus>
Hmm... It's definitely getting a shower after we're back—
His thoughts were interrupted when, all of a sudden, the tail of a drake entered his sight—literally hurtling right at him.
He didn't have much time to react, so Rael merely put his hands up to protect his head.
Linlin, you motherfucker.
[HP -24,225! 435,375/460,600]
Rael was sent flying into the city wall by the weight of the Drake.
However, he caught himself midway through by stabbing the ground with his staff and flinging himself onto the ground.
[HP -500! 435,875/460,600]
Of course, his luck made him hit a rock instead—despite there only being grass around.
Nonetheless, Rael stood up, brushed himself off, and glared at Linlin, who began tapping in the air.
<Linlin Xu: Whoops, my bad.>
His brow twitched upon seeing that.
"Don't 'Whoops' me. You did that on purpose, didn't you?"
She shrugged, and just as he was about to complain, the drake's body began crumbling slightly, as a bunch of its scales fell off.
Hmm?

<I saw you staring at it like a hawk, so yeah... Surprise?>
She just served me experience on a platter... Rael gulped, as he recalled Chop-E and gripped his staff.
Even with low damage contribution, the amount of experience he'd get would be insane.
Therefore, Rael grinned as he pointed the staff at the Drake... just a little lower.
"Prepare your balls, you overgrown lizard—this won't be fun for you."
