Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster-Chapter 140: Evelyn, And Aria
"Can you put that sword down for a moment?" Rael asked as he tapped Evelyn on the shoulder.
Yet instead of replying, she twisted her body and swung her makeshift sword at him.
In reality, it was just a wooden stick, but then again, Rael felt like he'd take a lot of damage if he were to tank that attack.
Therefore, he simply took a step to the side. As the sword flew past, Rael leaned in and, without wasting even a single moment, bonked Evelyn over the head with his palm.

The damage was pretty high, and it made her grip loosen on the wooden sword, which, in turn, gave Rael enough time to confiscate it and put it inside his inventory.
"Alright, missy, what the fuck?" Rael said, holding the dazed Evelyn by her shoulders.
After a few seconds, her eyes regained color, and she finally snapped out of it.
"Huh? Where's my sword?" Evelyn muttered, looking around.
"The same sword you broke a while ago?" Rael asked. "Or the wooden sword? Because I'm a bit confused why you'd surrender your sword if you had a backup."
"Oh right... my bad," Evelyn said, an embarrassed expression appearing on her face. "I think I got immersed in my training. I'm sorry, and I'd accept any punishment you'd impose upon me due to my actions—"
"That's just creepy, stop with that talk," Rael said, a shiver running down his spine. "You're a part of Celestara now, and I'll have Zafira assign your role tomorrow. For the time being, you need to calm down and tell me what's going on."
Evelyn stared at him for a few seconds, and then let out a sigh.
She swatted his hands off her shoulders, and with that, she began her little explanation.
"After you gave me that gift, I had a dream. In that dream, I had to defeat a much stronger clone of myself. It took a few years, but I managed to beat her in the end," Evelyn said, her face contorting to one of ecstasy.
"Can you imagine fighting the strongest version of yourself and actually beating them? Yeah..." Evelyn put her hands around her chest, her arms trembling. "That type of feeling... I never knew I could feel something like this."
"Right..." Rael scratched his cheek.
She really is acting like some masochist right about now, but...
"So you're a battle junkie... look, Evelyn. I'd like it if you could control your urges, at least in public," Rael said with a sigh and took out the wooden sword before tossing it back to her.
Evelyn nodded, a slight blush on her face. "I'll try my best. Again, I swear to wield this... or rather, my future sword for you."
Rael nodded. "I'll make you a weapon later. Do you have any preferences?"

She tilted her head. "Uh... sharp?"
Bruh.
"What type of sword do you most prefer? Do you prefer speed over power?" Rael added.
Immediately, her eyes lit up. "Something fast! Oh, but it should still pack a punch. I wanna feel every hit clearly. Maybe a thin blade, razor-sharp, lightweight—"
"Alright, alright, I get it," Rael interjected, facepalming. "If you want the best, then I'll provide the best. However, after I give you the sword, I have fulfilled your wish. Is that clear?"
"Crystal clear," Evelyn replied with a smile on her face. "Thank you, Rael. I'll be sure not to disappoint you or your lovely wife."
"She is lovely, isn't she?" Rael chuckled, glancing toward Zafira who was softly snoring on the bean bag.
Evelyn giggled, then swung her wooden sword in the air one last time before stashing it inside her inventory.
"So what should I do now?" she asked.
And before he could answer, Aria did instead.
"The guards will take you to my quarters. As Rael had stated, you will be assigned your role tomorrow. Until then, you may relax," Aria said with a serious look.
Oooh... a secretary, Rael thought, his eyes gleaming in excitement.
Evelyn seemed skeptical, but when she glanced toward Rael, he merely nodded, affirming that what Aria had said was true.
"Okay... I'll take my leave then. See you tomorrow." Evelyn waved and slowly made her way out of the throne room.
Of course, Aria followed for a moment, then informed the guards, and with that, Evelyn was led to her quarters.
As for Aria, she confidently walked back to Rael, stopping right in front of him.
"So? How's that for initiative?" Aria asked with a smug look.
"Not bad, though don't cut me off like that in public," Rael replied, narrowing his eyes. "But yeah, we'll work on that moving forward."
She flinched, her gaze sharpening. But in the end, she gave in.
"Yes..." Aria sighed apologetically. "Will you be doing anything else today? Maybe interacting with the travelers, or the envoy?"
"Nope. Also, the envoy can go fuck themselves," Rael chuckled, but then halted. "Actually... do you want to handle the envoy? They're annoying, but since you're considered something of a princess, then it'll be easier for you to deal with them, right?"
"I'm on it," Aria replied, straightening her posture. "I'm not your servant. However, I'll take your earlier words to heart. If I see that I'm not actually learning anything useful, I won't hesitate to go back to Yrgon."
"As you should," Rael nodded. "I'm a straightforward person, so I hope you learn to be as straightforward as me. That's all, you can go now."
Aria shot him one final glance and then left, being escorted by whoever was left of the guards.
Meanwhile, he walked up to the throne beside Zafira and sat on it.
As expected, it was uncomfortable as shit.
However, he didn't sit here to feel some comfort. Instead...
"How long are you planning to pretend to be asleep?"
Zafira's soft snoring stopped immediately, followed by her rolling over and glancing straight into his eyes.
"When did you realize?"
Rael smirked. "Since the start. You don't usually snore that loud. At least from what I've heard earlier."
Zafira's brows twitched as she stood up, then stretched her back.
"I'm done with all my paperwork for today. Want to watch another one of those moving pictures... movies? I saw a good one," she asked, excitement clear in her tone.
A warm smile appeared on Rael's face as he stood up and took her hand, gently rubbing it.
"Zafira... I think it's about time I introduce you to popcorn."
