Emma frowned on seeing him. 'Body curses... I see; this is what Matthew meant when he told me that curses were very versatile. So, they can be used that way.'

Although they were a little different from what he had told her, if Matthew were here, he would realize that it was because they were corrupted by an external power, and a very powerful one at that.

"Heh. Damn woman, I hope you're ready to feel the power of our curses. There is no better invention than this, I tell you, in a few years, your stupid Heirs will be obsolete because these are the supreme abilities that our entire race will have when the True King comes to us."

He lunged ferociously in her direction again, but the speed was several times faster this time, so Emma could only bend her body to avoid the attack.

'That fast?'

Acklam's claws still managed to graze her lightly, tearing the part of his clothes that covered his arm and leaving a scratch on her skin from the light friction.

He was not only fast, he was also powerful.

Even so, Emma still managed to defend herself against the other two successive attacks that came against her. She rolled in another direction before jumping towards him with a powerful horizontal attack.

Her sword struck that full-body armor created with energy at a key point, causing the impact to send Acklam rolling across the floor while his armor was left with a hole in the back.

"… It regenerates." Emma thought as she watched the armor begin to regenerate.

Acklam smiled. "That's right. No matter how hard you hit it, it will regenerate endlessly. In the end, you will be exhausted, and you will die under my hand."

Despite the impact that should have made him dizzy, his mind was as clear as it had been before he was hit, so he focused his vision on her and attacked again.

"Endless? Hehe, they've filled your head with shit." Emma attacked back, engaging in a frontal battle, where her sword continually struck the claws and armor of that bastard, and his claws struck her skin.

She didn't seem to be doing any damage, but the wounds on her body continued to grow and become more evident.

Even so, she couldn't stop.

She had to find a way to get the upper hand, so her hands moved nimbly, and her attacks were lethal and extremely fast.

'He can't keep up with me, but I can't destroy his armor. This is problematic.'

In a fight that lasted for tens of minutes, Emma saw a clear opening in her opponent's upper body. After a powerful lunge, she retracted her weapon in a strange way and launched a vertical attack, trying to cut his left shoulder.

Acklam smiled coldly.

"It seems you're not very good. You've forgotten something important, Future Empress," he said mockingly.

Emma frowned, and then she remembered.

'Shit, he wasn't alone.' She turned to look behind her when she felt imminent danger coming from behind, but a voice came from the front.

"Curse of Blindness." Acklam's eyes flashed red for the last time, and suddenly, his eye color returned to its usual red hue, but a strange, super-fast black cloud came out of his eyes and blocked Emma's vision, blinding her.

Then, a strong blow framed her back, and she was sent flying right to where another of Acklam's companions was waiting for her with a strong sword attack on her back.

She was then bombarded from another direction towards Acklam, who was the last to hit her in the stomach.

A mouthful of blood suddenly came out of her mouth; her eyes could not see.

'I made a serious mistake getting in the line of fire of someone using a curse like that.'

When she got up, she found it hard to find her center of gravity because she wasn't used to not seeing, but suddenly her ears perked up when she heard something behind her. She immediately turned around and swung her long, thin sword, but she was hit by a powerful attack that sent her rolling about ten feet.

"How? She was able to defend herself from that without seeing?"

"Shit, that woman is really fierce."

'Left, right... That one is right in front of me and Acklam...'

She had almost forgotten when she was engaged in battle with Acklam. Her strength is not in actual frontal attack but in using her skill to her advantage. She does not need to get close to them unless it is essential.

As long as she remains their target, all she needs to do is...

Wait.

'My strength is my hearing. No matter where you hide, I can find you even if I can't see you. Patience.'

Emma took a deep breath and returned to a fighting stance that differed slightly from the previous one. Her sword pointed to the ground, and she held it with both hands.

Her long legs were firm on the ground, like immovable trees, while her eyes were closed, for the curse's effect had not passed.

Suddenly, Emma turned around about 40 degrees from where she was pointing, and her sword was suddenly pointed at Acklam.

'Can she see me? Impossible. Is it because of the hearing?' He frowned and tried to nod to one of his subordinates from a distance to move first, as he wanted to verify that.

But he realized he couldn't.

The one who wanted to nod was behind Emma, but right now, he couldn't see him because she was covering him with her body, and, considering the distances, his subordinate couldn't see him.

Acklam made fun of this childish tactic and pretended he would attack but jumped high. "Attack!" He shouted.

But the signal he sent to his other subordinates was not to attack; the only one who could do so was the one behind Emma. He wanted to trick her.

Emma looked up, managing to follow the trajectory of that guy in the sky very precisely, but she soon realized what was happening.

She kept looking straight ahead but raised her sword a little, bringing it down until it was close to a rock.

Acklam smiled broadly. 'I've got you.' He also prepared to attack.
