Perfect Avatar-Chapter 113: The Sorrow Of Those Who Wake Up
Chapter 113: The Sorrow Of Those Who Wake Up
Agharita stammered, making Dora smile."Now you can say that I caused something."
The soul stone and the shining balls crumbled and disappeared.
Agharita, paralyzed, didn’t move, but a scream of rage rose from behind.
"Motherfucker!!!" The third Holy Knight rushed to him.
"Theodore, no!" Elizabeth shouted.
The Holy Knight jumped right above Dora, hundreds of colorful javelins around the Avatar who smirked.
"Now let’s see..."
Theodore shot the javelins which fell in luminous rays.
They were about to touch Dora when suddenly numerous black holes appeared all around him and absorbed the lethal rain.
Theodore, frozen recognized Angelo’s technique and was in such a shock that he couldn’t notice the black hole right under him.
He disappeared, following the rain of javelins.
Dora put his hand in his traditional finger sword pose.
"Taste your own medicine."
A black ball appeared in the sky, among the Dragons, and started to shine before exploding.
The ball emitted gravity magic and attracted several Dragons while conserving the explosion, making it look like a killing sun.
The town was once again lit by a sinister entity.
Peters greeted his teeth and threw his spear toward Dora, but passed through him.
The boy glanced at the Holy Knight with a smile.
"I still need most of you to hold them back, so..."
He vanished before Peters could reach him.
"Dammit! Get back here! Coward!!!"
Above them, the raging sun gathered more Dragon, three of them shot energy breath to destroy it, but the energy only joined the sun and added to its power.
"Please..." Agharita on her knees murmured.
She stared at the sun in despair.
"Destroy that thing, NOW!"
Elizabeth shivered, she had known Agharita long enough to understand that only a dire situation could put her in this state. freēnovelkiss.com
She held her sword tightly, surrounded by her aura, and gave a powerful sword swing.
A white gash cut across the sky, turning the sun black.
A phenomenal explosion succeeds, blowing up a few Dragons and hitting the earth.
Little by little, the sky returned to a normal color, or rather normal depending on the circumstances.
Agharita looked up and watched in horror as Theodore fell.
His body was ravaged, burned to the core, and bearing terrifying injuries, and his face was unrecognizable.
Peters jumped towards him, arms outstretched towards his comrade, and then the jaws of a small Dragon crushed Theodore from his stomach to his feet.
In a moment that seemed like an eternity, Peters caught sight of Theodore’s eyes.
The Holy Knight, with exhausted eyes, vomited blood, a sign that despite his physical condition, he was still alive.
Peters let out a cry of rage and was about to take hold of another Dragon in front of him, but just as he turned his back, another small Dragon bit Theodore’s upper half, the two Dragons fighting for their share and ultimately tearing him apart.
Peters watched the blood flow, the drops reaching Elizabeth and Agharita.
They stood still, the Dragons descending towards them.
In the sky, Fafnir flew at high speed, his new form preventing him from sufficiently damaging Midgard.
Suddenly, a giant spear appeared directly on his right wing, knocking him off balance.
Several black holes covered his body, and giant holes in the sky.
Dora and Midgard simultaneously used Angelo’s technique in offensive mode, making sure to hit the beast.
Between the gigantic size of Midgard and Dora’s movements, there were miles between the Avatar and the Player’s head, but both were internally shouting the same sentence.
"NOW YOU DIE!"
A colorful giant ball engulfed the city and space cracked.
From the horizon, the capital was replaced by a purple cyclone whose base glowed.
On a train heading to the South, a young girl with silver hair was holding back a slightly older girl with blue hair tied into a long ponytail.
They were standing in front of the train’s door.
Behind them, a few civilians watched in anguish.
Freya, with dead eyes, was hugging Iris from behind.
"Don’t do it... we can’t condemn everyone for our selfish desire."
Iris, her face contorted with anger and frustration, was clutching her fist tightly against the door. Beside her, Mercy was crouched down with her head between her legs, her body wracked with sobs.
Zuri lay further away, her face obscured by the thick curtain of her long, dark hair. All five had woken up not long ago, and as they began to take in their surroundings, they had noticed the strange, pulsating waves of energy emanating from the vortex.
It didn’t take them long to realize the situation.
"Let me go, now."
Iris trembled all over, but Freya didn’t move an inch.
"Iris, I understand how you feel, we all do, more than everything, I want to break this door and go back there, but... look behind you."
"I said LET GO!" Her fist rubbed the door dangerously, some murmurs rising behind her.
Freya rested her head on the back of the student council President.
"Iris, you’re angry too, aren’t you? We are also, if not more, but every action has consequences. We are here because we are deadweight, we have been weak enough to end like this, this is our sin, ours. But what’s about them?"
She gently turned Iris around to face behind her, but the girl resisted and pushed her back. Freya let out a sigh and hugged her once more. Her voice trembled as she spoke again.
"Iris... you don’t want to look at them because you know that if you open this door, they will suffer the consequences of our actions. If you really want to go through with it, can’t you at least look at their faces? Look at the people who will lose their lives because of what we’re about to do."
Iris was feeling overwhelmed as she gritted her teeth and turned around slowly. Her eyes fell on the pleading gazes of parents, children, and several injured people. At that moment, all her strength seemed to drain out of her body, and she fell to her knees, crying profusely.
Freya quickly knelt down beside her and hugged her tightly, trying her best to comfort her. On the other hand, Zuri was visibly upset upon hearing her cries, and she put her hands over her ears, tears streaming down her face.
Zuri’s mind was racing as she thought of Dora, and how she wished he was there with her. She whispered through her tears,
"Please... Please... I need you..."
Meanwhile, Mercy wiped the tears from her reddened face for the umpteenth time, feeling guilty for what had happened.
"I’ll never forgive you, Peters."
Cid was awake and watched silently as the Twilight of Gods shrank in size little by little. His face showed a new emotion that appeared to be a combination of fatigue and disappointment.
He refused to even think because he knew deep down that one single sentence was burning him from the inside.
"Thank God... that I don’t have to go there."
