One Piece: I'm Destined to Be the Son-in-Law King!-Chapter 217: Let’s Form the Strongest Band!
Chapter 217 - Let's Form the Strongest Band!
The Frost Wolf Mini, sleek and white, cut through the shimmering sea, the salty breeze pushing it onward towards Glass Bead Island. This island was the place to be in the East Blue, a haven for the stylish and trendy.
Inside the ship's lounge, a fresh, bright sticker adorned the wall, joining the others.
[To-Do List: Get Back at Red Hair]
Roya surveyed the wall, now a vibrant collage of goals and reminders. He nodded, a satisfied smile playing on his lips. One more thing checked off.
"Yamato," he called out, "is Uta awake yet?"
Yamato, sprawled languidly across the table, was idly poking at Black Horn General, the large beetle. "Not yet," she mumbled. How could anyone faint at the sight of this handsome little guy? she thought, bewildered. Unbelievable!
A short while later...
Creak-
The bedroom door slowly swung open.
Uta leaned weakly against the frame, one hand clutching her head. She felt dizzy and unsteady; stamina wasn't her strong suit.
Roya's brow furrowed with concern. "Uta, how are you feeling?"
"My head's spinning," she replied, her voice a little shaky. "I think I had a nightmare."
She shook her head, trying to clear the lingering fogginess. In her hazy memory, she recalled a monstrous, terrifying black creature, something... something... ƒreewebηoveℓ.com
Her eyes suddenly locked onto the large beetle Yamato was playing with, and her face paled.
Just like that!
"Bu-bug... Bugs!" she shrieked, her eyes rolling back in her head as she fainted once more.
"Uta!"
Roya swiftly caught her, gently placing her on the plush sofa. After a few moments of pinching her nose, Uta finally stirred, her eyes fluttering open.
"Am I dead?" she asked, her voice barely a whisper.
"Not yet," Roya chuckled, shaking his head. This girl's tolerance is unbelievably low.
"Yamato, put Black Horn General in its new home, please."
"Okay!" Yamato replied, reluctantly placing the large beetle into a glass jar.
This time, the glass barrier between them provided enough reassurance for Uta to calm down. She forced herself to look away, the image of the bug still sending shivers down her spine. She was terrified of them.
"Did we leave Elegia?" she asked.
"Yes."
Roya gestured towards a map on the wall. "Uta, Shanks is in the New World, which is really far from the East Blue. We can't get there quickly. I have a lot of things to take care of, so I won't be going there just yet."
"How long will it take to see Shanks?"
"About a year."
"A year? Okay, no problem!" Uta sighed, relief washing over her.
She had spent much of her young life traveling with the Red Hair Pirates. She understood that sailing took time, especially to get from the East Blue to the New World. A year was actually quite fast.
Like Yamato, Uta had been isolated in Elegia for almost ten years, and she yearned for adventure and the freedom of the outside world.
"Where are we going now?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.
"Glass Bead Island!" Roya grinned, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Uta, you like to sing, right?"
"Of course, I do!" she exclaimed, her face lighting up. Singing was her greatest passion.
"Uta, I've heard your songs, and I can feel your longing for the future in them. I want to ask you something important," Roya said, leaning forward, resting his chin on his hand. His eyes were intense, like a mentor on a talent show.
"What is your dream?"
"Dream?" Uta's hair tie seemed to perk up like rabbit ears as she tilted her head, a wide smile spreading across her face. "Ah~ Ah~~ I want to create a New Era of Peace and Happiness through my singing!"
"Amazing!!!" Roya jumped to his feet, applauding enthusiastically.
"Your dream is wonderful, Uta!"
"Huh? Is that so?" Uta blushed, suddenly feeling shy.
She hadn't expected Roya to embrace her dream with such enthusiasm. It was the first time anyone had praised her like this since the incident.
Roya continued to praise her, then steered the conversation toward his plan. "Uta, I want to put together a super band. The band's main goal is to bring Peace and Happiness to the world, and you are the perfect Vocalist in my mind!"
"Form a band?"
Would Roya even be helpful? she wondered. She had never considered the idea of a band, as she felt she could do it all herself.
Still, if that's what Roya wanted, she would go along with it, as long as it meant getting to see Shanks again.
"Okay, I can!" Uta agreed. "I can only sing. I don't know anything else, and I don't know much about the outside world. You can decide everything else!"
"Then it's settled." Roya declared, decisive.
"Do you have any ideas for the band's name?" he asked.
"No."
"Then let's keep it simple and call it the Peacekeepers!"
When Roya had decided to find Uta, he had already planned to form a band, and he had people making preparations for their first public performance.
If he was going to do it, he would do it big.
If they could become world-renowned superstars, spreading positive energy, their influence might even surpass that of a Marine Admiral.
He wanted the Peacekeepers to become synonymous with "Peace!"
"We need a theme song now!" he exclaimed.
"I've already thought of the name!"
""We Are The World"!"
"This song promotes world Peace. I only remember the basic melody and lyrics. Uta, I need you to help me complete it!"
Roya began excitedly telling Uta about the song, humming a few lines from time to time. Michael's song had been his favorite in his past life, but his memory of it was a bit hazy.
"Roya!"
Uta, energized by the idea, reached out and pressed her forehead to Roya's, and musical notes danced around them.
Their thoughts aligned with the rhythm of the music.
"You recall this song, and I can feel its melody," she said, her voice filled with excitement.
"Okay."
Roya closed his eyes, focusing on the song, remembering Michael's voice.
Notes began to form, one by one, and a moving melody filled the room. Uta joined in, her voice soaring with emotion.
"We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones..."
Yamato listened quietly, captivated. Even if she didn't fully understand the lyrics, she could feel the hope for Peace.
When the two broke apart, the song ended.
Uta grabbed a pen and paper and began writing down the melody and lyrics. There were gaps in Roya's memory that she would need to fill.
Yamato's eyes sparkled with excitement.
"Roya, I want to join the band too!"
"You?" Roya looked at her, a hint of doubt in his eyes.
"What can you do?"
"I-I can play the drums!"
