one piece: gene extraction and fusion system-Chapter 195: Hei’er, the Soul-Hunting Crow
Chapter 195 - 195: Hei’er, the Soul-Hunting Crow
Cultivation completed very quickly.
[Cultivation completed!]
As the prompt appeared, Mio didn't even have time to check the cultivated creature's panel before summoning the little guy.
What appeared was a very small creature—about the size of a normal crow, or perhaps slightly smaller. Its feathers were jet black, but intricate crimson lines traced across its body. At the tail, those red lines blended into a dark blue hue.
Its eyes were completely blood-red—profound and ominous.
Just looking into its eyes made one feel as though they were staring into the depths of death itself.
The moment the little creature appeared, it let out a piercing cry. The sound was indescribable—sharp and chilling, as though it cut straight through to the soul.
Everyone aboard the ship heard it instantly.
Bai Feng's eyes gleamed sharply as he turned in the direction of Mio's room with a solemn look. "It can affect the soul... what a terrifying ability."
...
"It looks good," Mio muttered with a pleased expression. He waved his right hand, and the little crow flew to his arm, landing steadily. It tilted its head to look up at Mio.
Mio reached out and gently patted its head, grinning. "From now on, your name will be Hei'er."
The crow nodded, clearly understanding Mio's words. It even seemed pleased with the name.
That wasn't surprising. The little guy had extraordinary intelligence—its genes were far beyond normal standards. It would've been strange if it couldn't understand him.
"Now, let me take a look at your panel," Mio said with anticipation, activating the system to check Hei'er's abilities.

Hiss—
"So strong..."
Mio inhaled sharply, stunned by what he saw.
The ability panel was absolutely gorgeous—and terrifyingly powerful.
On top of that, Hei'er's strength was already at the level of an Admiral.
A tiny crow possessing Admiral-level combat power? That would shock the world.
Then again, it was expected. The soul-hunting crow clearly had soul-related abilities. Add to that the demonic power and other vampiric traits like life and blood drainage—it was only natural that its power reached such a level.
Even more surprising, Hei'er's extreme combat strength was listed at Peak Admiral level.
Not all Admirals were equal in strength—just like not all Yonko were on Whitebeard's level.
Peak Admiral meant Hei'er's full power was greater than that of the current Admirals.
"Hahahaha! You're perfect for the guardian beast of my Black Crow Pirates," Mio laughed heartily, stroking Hei'er's head. "People will lose their minds when they see you!"
With Hei'er perched proudly on his arm, Mio turned and walked outside.
As he stepped onto the deck, his expression changed.
The sky was dark—completely blotted out by crows.
Huge swarms of crows circled in the sky, letting out screeching cries that pierced the ears and chilled the spine.
"Captain... what do we do?" Robin asked, covering her ears.
Mio glanced at Hei'er and explained, "It probably summoned them unintentionally with its earlier cry. Let them disperse."
Hei'er let out a cry again, and at once, the dark swarm in the sky scattered in all directions, vanishing over the horizon.
As the sky cleared, Lilith walked over and looked at Hei'er curiously. "Is this our new companion?"
Robin also examined the crow carefully. "Its appearance has changed a bit from before, but... those eyes feel ominous."
"Yes," Mio nodded. "This is our new partner—Hei'er."
He patted Hei'er's head again and gestured toward the crew. "Remember these people. They are all under your protection. Understand?"
Hei'er gave a sharp nod in response.
"Now then," Mio added, "we need to set up a place for you to live. Warwick, Hei'er, you two go build a nest on the flagpole. Make sure it can withstand wind and rain."
"Leave it to me," Hei'er replied, flapping its wings. Together with Warwick, the two immediately got to work.
Mio nodded in approval and gestured with his right hand. Hei'er flew up to a nearby railing, perching quietly while curiously observing everyone aboard.
"Alright, back to work. Bai Feng, how far are we from our destination?" Mio asked, turning to his navigator.
Bai Feng thought for a moment. "About seven more days."
Mio nodded and walked to the bow of the ship, sitting down.
He activated the system again and murmured, "Now, let's begin extracting abilities."
Hei'er's training was complete—but Mio had yet to extract his abilities.
With such a dazzling ability panel, who knew what kind of incredible skills he could gain?
