Naruto: Wooing Tsunade from Day One!-Chapter 336: You Can Make a Request
Chapter 336 - 336: You Can Make a Request
When the meal was over, no one left. Even Minato stayed behind instead of going to keep Kushina company.
The servants cleared the leftovers, wiped down the table, and served fruit and drinks.
"Minato, are you going to stay in the Anbu or come out?" Tsunade broke the silence, deliberately avoiding the previous topic.
"I'll do whatever you say," Minato replied. Team Maple had been disbanded, and he wasn't particularly interested in forming a new team. However, there was still Nawaki, and he didn't want to be separated from him. So, he left the decision in Tsunade's hands.
"Hmm..." Tsunade thought for a moment. "How about this? I'll transfer you and Nawaki out. You've been in the Anbu long enough."
The decision seemed natural. Nawaki and Minato couldn't remain in the Anbu forever, and with the departure of the three, it was the perfect opportunity to make the change.
"Okay, whatever you say," Minato agreed with a nod.
"From now on, Senior Brother Minato will have more time to spend with his loved one," Konan teased, smiling playfully at him.
"You're right about everything," Minato laughed, taking her jest in stride. Everyone at the table knew about his relationship with Kushina, so the teasing didn't faze him.
"Hey, Sensei~" Konan suddenly piped up, curiosity flashing in her eyes.
"What is it?" Kawakaze asked, picking up his teacup and taking a sip.
"If we don't come back, can we at least get cash for the house we were promised?" Konan's materialistic streak showed as her eyes sparkled mischievously.
"You girl~" Tsunade was momentarily speechless, unsure whether to laugh or cry at the question.
"Cancel it? I'll cancel it for you!" Kawakaze sputtered, nearly choking on his tea as he glared at Konan.
"Forget canceling it! Just give us a 20% discount," Konan shot back cheekily. "I know you, Sensei—you love us the most. You wouldn't want us starving in the Land of Rain, right?" She blinked her wide, innocent-looking eyes at Kawakaze.
"Don't even think about it. When you turn 18, I'll deliver it myself," Kawakaze replied firmly, rejecting the idea without hesitation. He knew Konan's tendency to spend recklessly and doubted the money would last long in her hands.
Even so, the determination in Konan's expression made it clear she wasn't ready to give up just yet.
"Hmph, stingy~"
Konan pouted in disappointment, feeling as though a golden opportunity had slipped through her fingers, like a duck flying out of reach.
"Say whatever you want, I don't care," Kawakaze replied nonchalantly, popping a grape into his mouth. His casual tone was anything but what you'd expect from a teacher.
Frustrated, Konan angrily punched Yahiko twice to vent her annoyance.
"Forget about the money," Kawakaze said, his tone softening slightly. "But I can promise you one not-too-unreasonable request. Think carefully—you only get one chance."
Konan's eyes lit up again, the wheels in her mind turning as she considered what benefits she could ask for.
"Then I'll have to think about it carefully."

Kawakaze shifted his attention to the others. "What about you two?"
"Sensei, can I transfer my request to Konan?" Yahiko asked, utterly smitten and completely under Konan's spell.
"Fine, whatever you want," Kawakaze agreed with a sigh, thinking it was fortunate they were a couple. Otherwise, Yahiko would undoubtedly be the one suffering.
"Yahiko, you're the best! Heart sign!" Konan exclaimed, thrilled, as she imitated a hand gesture she'd learned from Kawakaze.
"Heart sign!" Yahiko responded enthusiastically, grinning like a fool.
"What a sight," Sakumo muttered, rubbing his forehead. His family seemed to be filled with eccentric individuals. For a fleeting moment, he thought it might be nice to escape all of it.
"And Nagato?" Kawakaze asked, turning his gaze to him.
"Sensei, I don't want anything," Nagato replied quietly, his response unsurprising to Kawakaze. Nagato was always like this—calm, selfless, and never one to compete.
"Since you can't think of anything, then I'll decide for you," Kawakaze said with a sly smile. "Do you remember that girl named Nonō?" He deliberately left out her full name to gauge Nagato's reaction.
"Of course I remember. What about her?" Nagato's composure broke. He grew agitated and then panicked, suddenly standing as if bracing himself for bad news.
"Don't get so excited," Kawakaze said, suppressing a chuckle. "She's fine. Do you want to see her?"
Nagato froze, his emotions clearly in turmoil. Kawakaze's expression revealed that he had asked the question intentionally, knowing Nagato's introverted nature and enjoying the tease.
"I..." Nagato faltered, unable to summon the courage to admit his feelings.
"Ah, you don't want to? That's fine," Kawakaze said casually. "It's a waste of my time remembering you."
He was clearly trying to provoke Nagato further, his tone teasing.
"Yes. I miss her," Nagato admitted at last, the innocent love he had buried deep within suddenly surfacing under Kawakaze's persistent prodding.
"That's more like it," Kawakaze said with a satisfied smirk. "She's now a ninja from the Land of Earth, and she can be assigned to you guys. What do you think?"
Nagato's emotions surged like a roller coaster as Kawakaze spoke. The idea of Nonō Yakushi being reassigned to them was almost too good to believe. Now that Jiraiya's Intelligence Division was fully staffed, transferring her wouldn't disrupt operations.
"Really?" Nagato asked, his voice filled with surprise and disbelief. The possibility felt like an unexpected gift.
"Of course it's true. Your Sensei could never lie to you, could he?" Kawakaze replied.
Tsunade, observing the interaction, couldn't help but notice how uncharacteristic Nagato's excitement was.
"How is she doing these days?" Nagato asked hesitantly. He had avoided asking about Nonō's missions, partly out of fear of hearing bad news. But now, with Kawakaze bringing her up, he couldn't hold back.
"She's doing very well," Tsunade said reassuringly. "She's passed on a lot of valuable information to Konoha."
Tsunade had kept track of Nonō's work through Jiraiya, who often praised her as an exceptional spy. Nonō had executed every mission flawlessly, traveling through several countries without ever letting anyone down.
"That's not what I wanted to ask," Nagato said, scratching his head. It was clear he wasn't interested in the details of her missions.
"Don't worry. No disfigurement, no disability. She's perfectly healthy," Kawakaze reassured Nagato immediately, giving him the answer he needed.
"That's good, that's good," Nagato murmured, relief washing over him. His hand instinctively reached into his pocket, feeling for the pair of black-framed glasses he had kept all this time. The thought of their reunion being so near filled him with anticipation, even sparking an urge to leave for the Land of Rain right away.
"Sensei, I've thought it over," Konan finally spoke up after much contemplation, her expression a mix of seriousness and vulnerability.
"You must have killed a lot of brain cells, so hurry up and say it," Kawakaze teased, though inwardly bracing himself for whatever unpredictable request this mischievous girl might make.
"The first is that our room should be kept for us," Konan began. "And the second is, don't forget us."
As she spoke, tears streamed down her face. Despite her usual playful demeanor, it was clear that beneath it all, she was just a young girl about to leave the safety of her home for a distant journey.
"What kind of request is that? Think of two more," Kawakaze replied, his voice softening. His nose tingled with emotion, and he struggled to hold back his own feelings in front of everyone. Stupid girl, he thought. You really know how to pull at someone's heartstrings.
"I don't have any other requests," Konan said, shaking her head as her tears continued to fall.
"No one will forget you, and there's always a place for you in the family," Tsunade said, her voice trembling as she rubbed her reddened eyes.
"It's okay. It's not like we're saying goodbye forever," Sakumo said suddenly, his voice steady but his emotions restrained. "You guys chat. I'm going for a walk." He stood, tilted his head slightly, and left the dining room.
That night, the lights in the dining room stayed on late, casting a warm glow as the family lingered together, unwilling to let go of the moment.
