My CEO Boss Is A Masked Internet Sensation-Chapter 224: Where Are You?
Chapter 224: Where Are You?
(Karsten)
Buried in guilt, I reached my bike and saw that Caysir was no longer in the car. Arata must have informed him that she wasn’t going to return, so he retired to his room.
Taking out my cell phone, I called Caysir.
"Ensure Arata remains safe. Check every few hours and take dinner to her," I instructed, knowing she would starve herself again.
I shouldn’t be leaving her like that, but right now, I was the last person she wished to see.
Mounting my bike, I headed home. I needed a new plan and someone who could actually act as a mediator between us.
Arata was stubborn, and she wasn’t going to listen to any of my pleas now. I was afraid she might take some harmful action which would haunt her in future.
Maybe I needed to speak with Ma. My stomach tightened with worries and Arata’s thoughts. Betrayal and regret had taken an abode in her heart, and I wasn’t even sure how I was going to win her back.
Reaching home, I parked the bike in the secret room and returned upstairs.
Asbela met me halfway.
"Master! Dinner?"
I shook my head.
"No, I am not hungry. Did Ma eat?"
"Yes, and she has retired to her room," Asbela informed me before I dismissed her.
Maybe I will speak to her tomorrow.
Reaching my room, I was welcomed by Arata’s faint scent. It lingered, especially on the bed, as she had been lying in it before leaving.
Not even bothering to change, I just took off my shoes and slipped into bed, the side she had been sleeping on.
The bed was still embroiled in her warmth and fruity scent. Greedily, I found myself inhaling as I picked up her pillow and hugged it.
’Arata, you have become a permanent part of me. And no matter what I need to do. I will win you over.’
Taking out my phone from my pocket, I sent her an apology text. I knew it meant nothing to her, but I had to try. She didn’t read it so I opened her Christmas pictures and began to ogle at her like a retard.
The ringing of my phone brought me back to my present situation. I saw it was Caysir. Quickly, I picked up the call.
"Sir! I took dinner for Miss Arata, but she is not answering her door or picking up my calls." My world shook at his words while Caysir continued.
"So I went downstairs and asked the guards, and they said they had seen her exit the premises about 15 minutes ago. The cars are here, so I am not sure where she is." The worries fully incorporated his voice while I jolted from bed.
"I am coming, take the car and look for her. Keep trying her phone." Before I knew, I was flying down the stairs with my restless heart pounding abnormally in my chest.
My thumb dialled Olphi on the phone.
"Get the car, we are heading to Arata’s place," I grunted and rushed out.
Something was wrong, I knew it in my gut. She would never turn off her phone. She could be petty, but she wasn’t stupid.
Olphi was already standing by the car with the door open when I arrived. I jumped in, and soon we were flying towards Arata’s apartment.
My fingers wouldn’t stop calling and texting her, but the same stupid voice kept repeating.
"This user is not available right now."
Arata! Where are you? I desperately asked, the pain numbing all my senses.
I should never have left her in the first place.
We arrived outside her apartment building, and I saw the guards speaking to each other. Quickly, I opened the door and rushed to them.
"Hi! I am Karsten Chevalier. My girlfriend Arata lives here. Did you see her leave?"
Both of them nodded.
"Yes, Miss Arata left the building about 45 minutes ago. She walked towards the left and was empty-handed as far as I can remember."
Why would you walk out all alone, Arata? The thought of someone taking her seared my soul.
I had to remain calm and think this through.
"Did you see anyone lingering around? Anyone who is not a resident but has been coming here."
Both of them shook their heads.
"No, we take our jobs seriously."
I nodded before entering the building and heading to the desk. The girl at the desk always flashed me bright smiles, so I approached her by putting a fake one on my lips, too.
"Hi! Swera, how are you?" I greeted her, and she innocently blinked.
"Mr Karsten, I am good. How may I help you? I think Arata is out." She placed both her hands on her desk and smiled sweetly.
I had to charm her to get the extra key card to Arata’s apartment.
"Actually, I wanted to surprise Arata, so I wanted to set up a party for her before she arrived. So can you be a darling and give me the spare key card to her apartment?" I placed my elbow on her desk and winked.
Swera blushed so deeply and giggled as if I were throwing a party for her.
"Of course! Mr Karsten. Anything for you."
She opened the drawer and took out the key card, handing it to me.
"Have a great time, I hope she says yes." Swera thought I was going to propose to Arata. Anything to make this work.
I knew once I got into Arata’s apartment, I would get some clue to where she had gone and if I had to involve the police.
Taking long strides, I arrived at the elevator and took it up. All signs of the phoney smile had disappeared from my face.
As the elevator dinged, I rushed towards her apartment door. I tried, and it was locked, meaning she went wherever she went willfully.
I used the key card and carefully opened her door. It was highly likely she went out just for some food and could be back any second. She wouldn’t appreciate me breaking into her apartment at all.
But after what she discovered about me, it was highly unlikely she would go out to eat.
The door quietly closed behind me, and the first thing I noticed was her trolley bag. It was completely packed, meaning she was planning to go somewhere.
Most likely back home, as she appeared to have been done with the likes of me.
Her handbag lay on top of the trolley bag, and I found myself moving towards it.
