Chapter 517: 502, Moment of Separation_1
A passing staff member caught sight of the two men holding hands, a quirk of surprise flashing in their eyes. Some of the women looked absolutely heartbroken.
All the good men are together; how are we supposed to live?
“Which one do you want to watch?” Black Jack asked.
Jian Luo pointed at random, his eyes fixated on the snack bar.
“Are you sure you want to watch this?” Black Jack asked, a twitch forming at the corner of his mouth as he looked at the movie Jian Luo had chosen.
Jian Luo took a confused look at the choice, inwardly cringing.
An animated movie!
“Yeah, let’s watch this one.”
He had chosen it. Now he had to finish watching it.
They bought the tickets, the staff member watching them with a look of wonder.
Two men, watching an animated movie?
What’s the play here?
Entering the cinema, they found it empty. They shared a smile.
Had they reserved the entire place?
They found a row of seats and sat down. The movie soon began.
After less than half an hour, Black Jack suddenly felt a weight on his shoulder.
He turned to look at the person resting against him. The serene sleeping face softened his gaze. He carefully gathered him into his arms, then draped his coat over him.
Tormented by a virus the previous night, or perhaps because he was next to the one he loved, he slept deeply.
It wasn’t until an hour after the movie ended that he woke up lazily.
“Did you wake up?”
A low voice came from above, and when Jian Luo lifted his head, he met the eyes of the man, brimming with a playful smile.
Only then did he realise he had slept against him.
“Why didn’t you wake me up?”
“You were sleeping so soundly.” Black Jack picked up the coat that was about to slide off and put it on him.
“Hurry and put this on, you’ll catch a cold.”
Jian Luo smiled helplessly, looking at him with sleepy eyes.
He wasn’t that weak.
Leaving the cinema, Jian Luo felt a bit heavier.
“Where do you want to go next?”
Jian Luo pondered for a moment, then suddenly looked at him and smiled. “Black Jack, let’s go to the beach. I want to watch the sunset.”
“Alright.” He was as indulgent as always.
The two drove to the beach, but there was still plenty of time before sunset.
Jian Luo took off his shoes in the car and urged Black Jack to do the same. They rolled up their pants and walked barefoot on the sandy beach.
“Luo Xiaobai, is there something bothering you?” Black Jack held his hand and pulled him into his arms, his deep blue eyes reflecting his face.
He had a feeling that something was off today.
Jian Luo buried his face into his neck, suddenly remembering when he had left a mark on his neck in front of the hospital.
“Black Jack, what would we be like if we hadn’t known each other when we were young?” He asked quietly.
Black Jack chuckled softly, raising a hand to ruffle his hair. “Idiot. You were meant to be mine. No matter when we met, we were destined to be together.”
“Are you sure about that?” Jian Luo couldn’t help but laugh.
“Of course.”
“Black Jack, let’s play in the sea.” He looked up at him, his eyes sparkling.
Black Jack frowned, “No, you just got better from your cold, you’re not allowed in.”
“But I want to play. It’s a rare chance for me to get out.” Jian Luo looked at him pitifully, his voice soft.
Black Jack looked at him and in the end, still capitulated.
“You can only play for a while.”
Jian Luo nodded, pulling him towards the sea.
“Black Jack, look out!”
Jian Luo bent down, and when Black Jack was not paying attention, splashed him with seawater.
The childish act was reminiscent of their younger days.
Black Jack didn’t dodge it, instead, he stood there with an indulgent smile on his face.
His gaze darkened, and he stomped heavily on the water, sending up a large spray.
“Hiss…”
Caught off guard, Jian Luo was splashed all over his face. The cold sea water that touched his skin made him gasp.
“It’s so cold!”
Black Jack reached out to wipe it off for him, but Jian Luo took the opportunity to splash him again.
“Hahaha!”
The triumphant smile on his refined face made him look like a sly little fox.
“Luo Xiaobai, it seems you are asking for trouble.”
Black Jack’s eyes narrowed dangerously, he whispered.
Jian Luo sensed something was wrong, and just as he tried to run, he was caught by a large hand.
“Trying to run?”
Black Jack’s strong arm pulled back, lifting him straight up.
“I was wrong, let me down.”
Jian Luo quickly apologized, but the smile at the corner of his mouth did not show any hint of remorse.
“Too late.”
Black Jack carried him through the water, Jian Luo felt like he was going to throw up from the shaking.

Their laughter mingled together, echoing in the world around them.
They were still in the same familiar place, with each other by their side. But what had changed was that they were no longer childhood playmates, but lovers of each other.
Time quietly slipped away, as the clouds were dyed with colourful evening glow.
On the beach, the two sat back to back.
Jian Luo looked at the reddened clouds, a bitter taste welling up in his heart.
Was it time for them to part?
“Black Jack, I’m a bit cold,” he murmured.
Black Jack’s face tightened instantly, spinning around to face him, his eyes anxiously scanning over the other.
“Is there something wrong?”
Jian Luo shook his head, burying his face in his chest.
The warm voice emanated from his chest, “I’m just a little cold.”
Black Jack circled his arms around him, shielded him from the cold wind, “Let’s go back to the car and put on a coat.”
“No,” Jian Luo mumbled.
“Luo Xiaobai, what’s wrong with you?” Black Jack’s eyebrows furrowed. He pulled him out of his chest.
Their eyes met, and Jian Luo’s eyes curved in a smile, “There’s nothing wrong. I just wanted to hold you a little longer.”
“Idiot!” Black Jack pushed his head back into his chest, dropping a kiss on his chestnut-coloured hair.
Jian Luo reached out to grab his collar, his nose filled with his faint scent.
After they both finished dinner, Black Jack drove to Jian Luo back to the Manor.
Under the night sky, the atmosphere in the white sports car felt heavy.
“I’m going in first. You should go back soon.” Jian Luo tried to pull his hand away, but the man held him even tighter.
“Black Jack!” He called out in a hoarse voice.
The dim light fell on his angular rugged face, making it appear more stern. Black Jack clung to the hand in his own, a touch of reluctance in his eyes.
Jian Luo winced and forcibly pulled his hand back. He steeled his heart, reaching out to open the car door.
“Bang––”
The car door was barely cracked open when the man’s large hand stretched out and closed it again.
Jian Luo’s eyes filled with tears. He was about to turn his head when he was silenced by the man’s cool lips.
“Mm––”
Black Jack reached out to clasp his neck. His imposing presence enveloped Jian Luo. A shimmering liquid slid from the corner of Jian Luo’s eyes, landing on Black Jack’s hand, causing his heart to throb.
After a while, he let go. Their foreheads rested against each other.
