Mated To The Cruel Prince-Chapter 661: Aldric Wanted A Harem
Chapter 661: Aldric Wanted A Harem
"No!" Islinda bolted up with a startled scream. She was wide-eyed and covered in cold sweats. Looking around the familiar environment, she recognized she was back in her room and was able to calm down.
She recalled the vision vividly and Islinda shuddered at the last scene right before she was roused back to reality. What the hell had Azula done? Islinda rubbed her chest which was still running quickly. Intuition told her that whatever Azula had done could not be anything good and it strangely bothered her. She could feel it, Something ominous lingered in the air. This was just the calm before the storm.
With a sigh, Islinda pulled the sheet away and was about to step out of the bed, only to freeze.
"Impossible... " Islinda muttered from the shock, because standing in the middle of her room was a familiar beautiful looking white cat.
"P-prince Wayne?" Islinda called unsure.. It felt as if she was seeing things right now.
But the cat meowed in response and happiness like no other filled Islinda and her expression lit up as she left her bed and ran over to the cat, picking it from the ground, and embracing it.
"Oh Wayne...." Islinda cried out, tightening the embrace, "I missed you so much. Forgive this irresponsible owner. But don’t worry, we would never be separated ever again."
And to that, Prince Wayne concurred with a purr, or so Islinda thought. Because the real Wayne relished the embrace by leaning into the princess, burying his face into her neck and inhaling her scent. She smelled good. Heavenly. Just like he remembered. Her scent was becoming more potent. It was almost time! She will be out soon! His betrothed no longer slumbered!
***************
"Your highness, I come bearing news," said Former High lord Karle to Aldric who was in a meeting with other Faeries.
Ever since the massacre in the grand hall, it was safe to say that the other "living" cabinet members have been "functional". Everyone went about their duties with honesty, fear and trembling. The High Faeries having illicit deals with other courts, especially the summer court, ended the business at once, scared that Aldric would come for them as well. If not murder them while they slept — that is if they are able to sleep at all.
In one word, there was a full revolutionary change going on in the winter court in the course of just a few days of Prince Aldric’s arrival and ascension as High lord. One of the high Fae with a lot of skeletons in his cupboard had sought to restitute for his crimes by opening his storehouse and supplying food free of charge to the citizens of the winter court. He hoped that by showcasing his benevolent deeds, the dark Fae prince would show him mercy and overlook his past transgressions.
Well, Aldric did spare him. So far.
Hence that prompted other corrupted High lords to follow in the same pattern and opened their storehouses to the masses. In one word, food prices that had been very expensive in the winter court, such that the common citizen could no longer afford and became destitute, crashed to the very zero and nearly every poor Faery in the winter court gathered enough food that would last them a month in their homes.
For the first time, the streets resounded with songs of praise for Prince Aldric, the newly-appointed High Lord of the winter court. His acts of generosity and benevolence were the talk of the realm, spreading like wildfire among neighboring courts and city.
While some were skeptical and sought confirmation of Aldric’s deeds, a wave of curious faeries flocked to the winter court to witness the transformation firsthand. Sensing an opportunity, Prince Aldric welcomed the influx of visitors, seizing the chance to showcase his newfound leadership and win over even more hearts and minds.
Prince Aldric’s recent flurry of meetings was not merely for show; he had strategic plans in motion to capitalize on the curiosity of visitors from other realms. With the influx of Faeries arriving to spy and gossip about him, Aldric wasted no time in putting the minister of tourism to work.
Leveraging the winter court’s exquisite artistry skills, Aldric ensured that visiting Faeries would have an unforgettable experience, enticing them to spend lavishly before returning to their own realms. Meanwhile, behind the scenes, new trading deals were being forged under Aldric’s influence, bolstered by his fearsome reputation.
For existing partners, Aldric’s rise to power meant a shift in dynamics. Those who wished to maintain business ties with the winter court would have to adapt to Aldric’s new terms, or risk being left behind in the wake of his ambitious plans.
Overall, there was a lot other developments Aldric brought about in a span of just days. The dark Fae prince came with the wind of change and it was either one were on his side, or they were swept away.
Although Aldric had won the heart of the citizens of the winter court and brought positive change, not everyone liked that. No one knew considering they had hidden the incident, but one of the guards during one of the many meetings tried to attack prince Aldric. However, the guard didn’t even get close.
All prince Aldric did was look him in the eyes and the guard fell to his knees, screaming and grabbing his head. The next second, the guard started bleeding from every orifice in his body and died.
Every one had been shaken by the incident as they were reminded once more of the deadly powers the dark Fae prince possessed.
Hence that was the reason Karle had stumbled upon the secret meeting his own colleagues were having at night and ended it before Aldric found them out and subjected them to the gruesome fate. For now, whether they liked it or not, they could not do anything against the dark Fae prince.
Well, not almost.
Elena.
Lord Karle watched her hovering around prince Aldric even as the meeting was ongoing. Elena was not supposed to be here, this was a confidential meeting yet Aldric let her be. His nephew’s behavior was confusing to him.
He clearly liked the human, yet here he was with Elena. Obviously, the apple doesn’t fall from the tree. Just like his father, he probably intended to have a harem.
Except of course. The human’s accusation was true and Elena of the Raysin family was using witchcraft on Prince Aldric.
