Chapter 206: You are finally here!

Silas’s POV

Suddenly, the blue ocean started to turn red, like it was blood. The whole sea was filled with blood, not water. And that sight alone gave me shivers down my spine.

I didn’t know what was happening, because everything was fine a second ago. But when I had started to feel peace, this happened. I glanced up at the sky.

The sky was also getting cloudy, like it was going to rain soon. But seeing that it was going to rain didn’t give me any happiness.

Because my steps were moving on their own and taking me towards the sea, and it wasn’t like I didn’t want to go.

And before I knew it, I was inside that bloody sea. That blood was so cold, and it felt like I was in water, but the color of the water was red.

Suddenly, the water started getting deeper. It was at my waist, but suddenly it rose to my chest. It was like... I was drowning in that water, slowly, slowly.

And before realizing it, I was completely drowned. I was in the water. My breaths were running out. And just then, I saw a hand coming from above.

As soon as I saw that hand, I didn’t know whose it was. But I was sure of one thing—if I wanted to stay alive and save myself, I had to grab that hand. That’s why I grabbed it tightly, hoping I would survive.

And then I snapped open my eyes and found that I was sleeping in the car, and the hand I had grabbed in my dream was Damon’s hand.

Because of that, he was looking at me with a shocked expression, and I was gripping his hand very tightly. As soon as I realized that, I quickly let go of his hand and glanced around.

I saw Theron was still in the same position as before. He was still sleeping.

"What happened? Did you have a nightmare, Silas?"

After hearing that, I glanced at Damon. I also noticed the healer was no longer trying to heal Theron.

"Why did you ask?" I asked.

"Because you seemed very uncomfortable while sleeping, and you were also frowning a lot. That’s why I just touched your forehead, but then suddenly you grabbed my hand and wouldn’t let go. I realized you must’ve been having a nightmare."

"Indeed, it was a nightmare. And did we arrive?"

"Nope, ’cause it’s only been one hour since we left. There’s still a long way to go. But I’m driving as fast as I can, and Lysander and Kael are behind us in that car."

"WHAT?"

As I heard that, I quickly opened the car window and glanced outside. I saw there really was a car behind us. Are Lysander and Kael really inside that car? When did he inform them?

Because as I remember, it was only Damon, me, Theron, and Kara back at the mansion when we left. And now, when I woke up, they’re also behind us. How did they catch up with our car so soon?

"When did you inform them?"

"I didn’t inform anyone. It was Mom who told them and asked them to follow me. Because she was worried that something might happen at the temple, and if that’s the case, we brothers should fight together. At least."

"Then you should’ve taken your bodyguards with us," I suggested.

Of course, there’s nothing wrong with taking bodyguards for our safety. At least we wouldn’t feel any fear if we had dozens of bodyguards behind our backs.

"It’s not that we can’t take bodyguards with us. It’s just that if we take too many, it would look like we’re going there to harm them or something. And we want them to heal Theron, so we’ll have to take one step at a time. My bodyguards are following us, just not closely. So don’t worry."

"Mhmm."

I’m still not happy about Kael and Lysander following us, or about Damon being with me too. It’s not like I’ve forgiven him or anything.

But yes, for Theron, I’m enduring this, and it’s not that difficult for me. Because Damon’s behavior seems to have changed a little bit—and also hasn’t changed too.

He still behaves like a gentleman, like before. And when he shows he cares about me, I think it’ll be difficult for me to accept that.

After that, without stopping anywhere, Damon kept driving. I also noticed that the car behind us was following us well too.

And after a total of eight hours, we finally reached the front of the temple. The way was very difficult because there were so many forests.

And when we were coming here, we had passed through one of those forests. On that road, only our car was moving.

Darkness was everywhere. We could hear the sounds of animals. The forest was silent and eerie, giving off a horror vibe as our car passed through.

And now, we’re standing in front of the temple. There are many high stairs in front of us. It looks like a thousand stairs.

No, not a thousand—more than that. I think it’s very high. I can’t even see what the temple looks like right now. Because all I can see are the stairs. And it’s night too.

"Is this the temple? And how are we supposed to climb this many stairs?" I asked.

Because Theron was unconscious—how was he supposed to climb these stairs?

Even if Damon and kara helped him, what if at some point they’d reach their limit and wouldn’t be able to move anymore.

So of course, I was worried seeing those staircases. But just then, I heard—

"Silas! You’re finally here."

At first, I didn’t realize whose voice it was. That’s why I glanced in the direction the voice was coming from. It was from the staircase.

But I couldn’t see anyone. And then, I saw someone stepping down toward us.

It was dark so it’s difficult for me to know who is that person.
