Married To My Ex's Brother, Reborn Miraculously-Chapter 175: Tania exposed (Part 1)
Chapter 175: Tania exposed (Part 1)
Jeanne quickly came to Tania’s defense. "She is right. Why would anyone fake a pregnancy? It doesn’t make sense. Tania is the victim here. That man already admitted that Anne paid him. Isn’t that proof enough? And now, conveniently, Anne shows a video. It’s suspicious."
The crowd looked at each other, caught in a storm of confusion.
Anne, trembling with anger and disbelief, stood her ground. "I’m not faking anything," she cried. "That video is real. She has been lying from the start, and now the truth is coming out."
"Calm down," Augustine said, placing a steadying hand on Anne’s shoulder. His eyes swept over the gathering crowd, his tone turning sharp. "Since all of you seem eager to accuse my wife tonight, don’t blame me for dragging the truth out in front of everyone. I planned to handle this discreetly—but you’ve left me no choice."
In truth, Augustine had been waiting for this very moment to lay bare every lie, to crush Tania’s deceit, and to publicly disgrace the Beaumont family.
He pointed straight at Tania. "Take a look at her. If she truly had a miscarriage just moments ago, how is she standing upright without any sign of distress?"
All eyes fell on Tania, studying her skeptically.
"Weren’t we all watching her cry out in agony on the floor not long ago?" Augustine pressed.
Tania’s complexion turned further pale. Her body stiffened under the weight of suspicion, then, in a clumsy bid to regain sympathy, she clutched her stomach again and grimaced as though pain had returned.
"I am in pain," she claimed breathlessly. "But I couldn’t just sit back and let Anne ruin my reputation. She is accusing me falsely."
"False accusation?" Augustine echoed with a cold laugh. "You’ve got some nerve."
With a flick of his fingers, he gave a silent command.
Gustave stepped forward from the crowd, carrying a slim folder in his hands. He passed it to Augustine without a word.
Holding the file aloft, Augustine declared, "Here is the proof. Tania isn’t pregnant."
He pulled out a stack of medical reports and thrust them into Denis’s chest.
Denis took the documents with a heavy expression. His brow furrowed as he flipped through the pages. A stunned silence fell over the room.
Augustine’s eyes cut sharply to Jeanne and Gabriel as he began speaking with devastating clarity. "The man in the video with Tania is Enzo. They’ve known each other since childhood. Their paths diverged when Enzo’s family moved abroad, but fate reunited them a few years ago when Tania traveled overseas."
He then turned his attention to Tania. "Their old passion reignited. She has been in a relationship with Enzo for the past three years. During that time, she got pregnant twice, but she aborted both times."
The atmosphere grew taut as guests exchanged stunned glances, trying to absorb the scope of what was unfolding. What had started as an accident with a fallen chandelier had quickly unraveled into a scandalous exposé of secrets, betrayal, and manipulation.
"What?" Jeanne gasped with disbelief. She turned sharply to Denis. "Is this true?"
Denis stood frozen, his expression blank. He looked completely thrown, caught between the weight of hard evidence and the emotional bonds he thought he could trust.
"I... I don’t know," he murmured.
Gabriel, furious and demanding answers, yanked the documents from Denis’s hands and flipped through the pages. His eyes scanned the reports. The truth stared back at him in cold, undeniable print. Every word Augustine had said was backed by those documents.
Augustine delivered another blow. "Because of those abortions, she now faces complications. She is having difficulty conceiving. She is undergoing infertility treatment."
He gestured to the reports Gabriel held. "You’ll find everything documented in those pages."
Gabriel’s face hardened with each line he read. The mask Tania had worn for so long was shattered.
Panic gripped Tania as she caught sight of Gabriel’s deepening scowl. Her heart pounded wildly. How had Augustine uncovered everything?
She had buried those secrets with ruthless precision, paid the doctor to stay silent, and erased every trace. Yet her carefully crafted lie unravelled at the seams, in front of everyone.
Desperation twisted her features as she lashed out, voice rising in accusation. "You are lying. These are fake reports. You’ve always hated me." Her eyes flicked from Augustine to Anne, wild and unhinged. "You want to ruin me, destroy my relationship with Denis. Admit it. You have always had your eyes on him, always flirting, always chasing what you can’t have. But he chose me. That’s why you’re doing this."
She clung to Denis’s arm with trembling fingers. "Denis, please... You know me. You know how insecure and jealous Anne is. You have seen all. This is her doing. Don’t trust her."
Anne’s face tightened with fury. "Still denying it? Even now? How low will you stoop?" She turned to the crowd. "Fine. Let the doctor examine her. The truth will speak for itself."
Just then, the butler stepped forward with a calm, measured tone. "The family doctor is here."
Heads turned as the familiar, middle-aged physician walked into the room.
Tania’s blood ran cold. She had thought Denis had called the doctor she had bribed. She had been waiting for him, expecting him to back her narratives. But she hadn’t expected the Beaumonts’ trusted doctor would appear.
Her composure crumbled. She glanced up at Augustine and saw him smirking. She immediately knew he had orchestrated this.
As the doctor advanced, Tania instinctively recoiled, panic flaring in her eyes. "No. I won’t let him near me. My doctor is on his way. He’ll explain everything."
"Why the sudden fear?" Anne stepped forward, her voice sharp with accusation. "Afraid he’ll expose your lies the second he touches you?"
"Stop this nonsense," Tania snapped, her tone frantic.
But it was too late. Denis’s patience snapped. His voice thundered through the room. "Then let him examine you." He tore his arm from her grip and glared at her with accusations and suspicion. "If you have nothing to hide, why are you so afraid?"
Tania stood frozen, her mask slipping, her lies teetering on the edge of collapse. Her throat tightened, and her knees weakened beneath the weight of exposure.
She had no defense left, no lie strong enough to cover the truth. She turned slightly, her instincts urging her to flee—but Denis gripped her arm tightly and yanked her back.
"Doctor, go ahead," he ordered grimly, keeping her in place.
The room fell into an eerie hush as the doctor stepped forward and took Tania’s wrist, checking her pulse with quiet concentration. Every eye was glued to him, waiting, watching in tense anticipation.
After what felt like an eternity, the doctor declared, "She is not pregnant. And there has been no miscarriage."
