Chapter 38: Dominating Dominic

Dominic was speechless.

All kinds of thoughts raced in his mind and he couldn’t comprehend the situation. He had been the chief twenty years, and never in his career had he faced someone like Xavier who had pulled such a checkmate move.

’What the hell is going on?’ Dominic asked himself as he stared at the confident look on Xavier’s face. ’Wasn’t he supposed to be an uneducated and illiterate village rat who knew nothing about technology and electronics?’

’But this bastard is... come to think of it, when the clip of him getting beaten went viral... it wasn’t just a coincidence of someone plotting against the academy? But this guy planned that too?’

Dominic didn’t know what to say. He had severely underestimated Xavier and now he was regretting it.

’Calm down, Dominic. The video doesn’t mean a thing. It can easily be dismissed as fake and edited so—’

"I know what you are thinking." Xavier interrupted Dominic’s thoughts.

"Huh?"

"You will now say that the video doesn’t prove anything and it can be fake. Or you will just say that you will destroy the evidence by deleting the video and no one will know." Xavier let out a soft scoff and continued speaking with the face of confidence.

"But before you say all that, I would like to let you know that all the evidence has already been shared and it can be made public at any moment. I had told my ’team’ that if anything were to happen to me, or if I don’t get out of the prison within 24 hours, then make the video public and submit all the evidence to the UCJ," Xavier added.

"Heh!" Dominic regained his composure and said, "You are a village rat, so you must not know but evidence such as papers, notes, and video clips aren’t considered as solid evidence. So even if you make the video public, you would need more evidence to prove that you are innocent, and it was Lucas and his friends who—"

"Watch the next clip," Xavier ordered.

Usually, Dominic wouldn’t have listened to anyone, but he had to be careful around Xavier.

He opened the next clip.

The footage was crystal clear—Lucas Blackwood, his face twisted in a sneer, his voice dripping with venom.

"Yeah, we r*ped her. So what? She was asking for it."

The camera panned—Mira, her body limp, her clothes torn.

Dominic’s breath caught.

Xavier’s voice was a blade. "That’s your son’s best friend."

Dominic’s fingers trembled as Xavier’s phone slipped from his hand.

"Oh, be careful. It’s new, you know?" Xavier picked up his phone and then switched to another clip and showed it to Dominic, a recording that Lucas and his friends had taken while violating Mira.

Dominic’s mind had stopped working. His gaze locked onto Xavier’s face—confident, smug, victorious. However, Xavier wasn’t done yet. In fact, he had just begun.

When Xavier had called Oliver to the washroom, he had told him everything. And he asked for Oliver’s help to contact the hacker.

When they contacted her, she said that hacking into someone’s phone and stealing the data was impossible under the circumstances she was in.

But then Xavier said that he knows how Lucas and his friends are, and they must have shared videos to each other.

The hacker told them that hacking into their social media accounts wasn’t a big issue and she could do it in a few hours. And that is how she had extracted evidence from their phones.

However, Xavier already knew that it wasn’t enough, since the eye witness, who was present there— Kael, had changed his testimony, and that mattered more than a video or a note that wasn’t considered as solid evidence in the digital era.

But that was enough. Xavier had planned the rest and done his own research.

Dominic regained his composure and took the phone from Xavier’s hand, setting it aside. Then, he brought up a holographic display that showed Xavier’s details, the arrest warrant, and some other fake evidence that proved that Xavier was the culprit.

"The medical report performed on Mira after she was brought to the hospital found your DNA. That’s solid evidence!" Dominic said in a haughty tone, his voice dripping with arrogance.

Xavier raised an eyebrow, his smirk widening. "Oh? What a funny coincidence." He said in a confident tone, his voice light, almost amused. "You see, Mira also sent me the remains of sperms found inside her." His gaze locked onto Dominic’s, his voice a blade. "And guess what? That report said the DNA on the sperm matched with Lucas and his friends."

Dominic’s eyes widened, his heart pounding in his chest. Xavier had been giving him one shock after another, and his blood pressure was rising.

"You’re bluffing!" Dominic let out a nervous chuckle, his voice shaking. "Let’s say what you’re saying is true and Mira sent you the remains of sperms, how did you get Lucas and his friends’ DNA?"

Of course, Xavier was bluffing. But it didn’t matter. Dominic had no choice but to believe everything Xavier was saying. After all, many lives were on the line.

Xavier’s voice was a growl. "Oy Dominic." His face darkened, his voice dripping with venom. "Do you think I’m stupid? I know it’s mandatory by law for every citizen on earth to have their DNA registered in the database? DNA is like a key and link to every cyber software and hardware used."

"....!" Dominic’s breath caught.

"Do you think I don’t know that every hospital and research centre has access to DNA of all the citizens on earth?"

"Where is that report?!" Dominic slammed his hands on the table and grabbed Xavier. "Where is it?! I want to see!"

Xavier shrugged his shoulders and with a smug look on his face, he responded, "If you are so curious to see the report, then why don’t you just wait for five more minutes?"

"Huh?"

Xavier’s smirk spread across his lips. "It will be 24 hours to my arrest after five minutes, and all the evidence will be made public." His voice was a taunt. "Then you can watch it however many times you want." He said in a triumphant tone, his voice dripping with satisfaction.
