Chapter 568: Chapter 468 A-level Member

"Old Wang, I told you that you had no chance," a professor comforted Wang Zhan Yuan by his side. "But what I didn’t expect was for Yun Yue to actually have a master? I just don’t know who this master really is."

Wang Zhan Yuan did not manage to acquire any apprentices and was feeling incredibly frustrated, so he directed his anger at him: "You still have the nerve to say that? It’s your jinxing that did it; otherwise it would have definitely worked out."

Jian Peicai: "..."

Look at that, he was so mad that he found any excuse to vent.

"Sister Yue, who is this master you mentioned? Is he very powerful?" Jiang Qi followed Yun Yue out of Lab D, curious about her so-called master.

He thought to himself, the people who could be Yun Yue’s master were just a few formidable ones, either Dr. m or Dean Fei.

She had a deep relationship with the Medical Organization, "Could it be Chairman Fei?"

Yun Yue gave him a side glance: "Him?" Not qualified.

Seeing her leave after saying just one word, Jiang Qi couldn’t figure out whether it was him or not.

He scratched his head in bewilderment.

Shengting.

"Xiao Feng, the food you made is really delicious; I’ve gained weight these past few days!" Ji Wenjun supported herself on the table, smacking her lips.

"Thank you for the compliment, aunt. My cooking skills are all I have to show," Xiao Feng said modestly.

"These days, it’s rare to find a man who can cook so well, not bad at all," Ji Xian also praised.

He had previously thought that such a big house didn’t even have a housekeeper and worried that they ate takeout every day, but it turned out there was a five-star chef right by their side.

Hearing the sound of the door opening, Housekeeper Ji immediately went over, "Yun... Mr. Xiao, Lady Xiao, what brings you here?!"

Housekeeper Ji’s smile froze, his heart skipped a beat, thinking, it’s over, I can’t hide it anymore.

"Housekeeper Ji, why are you here? Is Mr. Ji also here?" Jiang Qiong, carrying a bag, noticed his unusual expression and peeked inside.

"Is... Ah, the old master missed the young miss, so he wanted to come over to visit," Housekeeper Ji quickly shifted a step to block her view.

Jiang Qiong grew even more suspicious, changed her slippers, and walked in with Xiao Jingchang and Housekeeper Xiao following behind.

"What are you blocking me for? Could there be some secret?" Jiang Qiong could tell he was acting odd and wanted to see what was really going on.

Housekeeper Ji was almost dying of anxiety, and behind him, Ji Xian was also almost dying of anxiety. The kitchen was so small, the dining area was so small, there really was no place to hide anyone. Fortunately, Ji Wenjun was slim; at the last moment, they stuffed her into a cabinet.

"Mr. Ji, what are you doing?"

Jiang Qiong’s voice came from behind.

Ji Xian jumped and immediately turned around; after all, he was someone who had been through big storms, and his face showed no sign of panic.

"Nothing much, just thinking that with such a big table of dishes, we should have a few drinks. Come, come, join me for a few," Ji Xian gave Xiao Feng a look.

Xiao Feng immediately pulled out a chair.

"It smells great; looks like coming here wasn’t for nothing, Housekeeper Xiao put your stuff down and come join us," Jiang Qiong pretended to be unaware and took a seat.

"You knew we would come so you’ve set the plates and chopsticks already, but where’s Yueyue?"

Just then, the sound of the door opening came from the entrance.

Yun Yue and Jiang Qi walked in.

"Uncle, aunt, what brings you here? And Mr. Ji too," Jiang Qi looked around surprised, not seeing Aunt Wen Jun anywhere, and his inquisitive gaze turned to Yun Yue.

Yun Yue walked over without betraying any emotion.

Jiang Qiong served her a bowl of soup, and seeing the mark on her neck, her smile deepened: "Yueyue, have some soup."

She would probably soon be holding a grandson.

"Thank you, Aunt Qiong," Yueyue said with a smile.

As soon as Ji Wenjun heard Yueyue’s voice, she couldn’t stay still and rushed out of the cupboard.

"Yueyue."

The cupboard had been storing flour, probably from a torn bag, and as she burst out, flour flew all over the dining room, choking everyone present.

"Cough, cough, cough, who is this?"

Jiang Qiong was dumbfounded. She had just felt that there was something off about the cupboard but had never imagined it was hiding a full-grown person, causing chaos in the entire dining room.

Ji Wenjun, her face covered in flour, saw Yueyue and wagged her tail as she leapt toward her.

"Yueyue, I’ve missed you so much."

Yueyue put down her bowl and reached out to hug her, thankful that she had prepared herself to not be knocked over.

Casting a discreet glance at Ji Xian, she thought to herself how clever it was to hide someone in the cupboard.

"This is..."

As the flour settled, everyone finally got a clear view of Ji Wenjun. Though her face was smeared with a lot of flour, her general features were still recognizable.

"Wen... Wen Jun?" Jiang Qiong almost trembled as she spoke, her eyes filled with disbelief as she gazed at the person before her.

It was as if she was seeing an illusion.

"It’s definitely Wen Jun, she’s still alive! She’s actually still alive!" Xiao Jingchang stood up excitedly, his hands supporting himself on the table, his expression full of emotion.

"Hey, do you all know me?" Ji Wenjun looked around curiously.

"This... You don’t remember us?" Jiang Qiong, puzzled, turned to Yueyue.

"Let’s all sit down and eat, we’ll talk about it slowly after dinner." Yueyue gestured for everyone to sit down and eat, and after finishing the meal, they began discussing on the sofa.

"So that’s it, no wonder there has been no news from her for so many years." Jiang Qiong saw her and Elder Ji sitting on the carpet, playing a two-person game, father and daughter reuniting after over twenty years.

"But Yueyue, hiding this from us, were you afraid we’d harm Wen Jun?" Jiang Qiong expressed her unhappiness, "Don’t you trust your uncle and aunt?"

"No, it’s just that she’s only recently come back, and she’s a bit shy. I was planning to let her get used to the environment here before letting you know."

Seeing her explanation, Jiang Qiong let the matter rest.

"By the way, uncle and aunt, please don’t mention this to anyone for now. It’s not the right time yet."

Though they didn’t understand her definition of the right time, they heeded her request.

"Don’t worry, we won’t say anything."

After chatting for a while longer, Yueyue took Jiang Qi’s car to Jing University and reported to the M lab.

Dean Yang Jingxian saw her and couldn’t stop smiling, and He Lv was also overjoyed.

They had been looking forward to her arrival for days.

"Here’s your work badge. I know you’re busy, and here in the M lab, we don’t have as much going on as in the D lab—it’s all drug research and such. Just try to participate in one or two academic studies occasionally."

Yang Jingxian spoke succinctly, causing He Lv’s mouth to twitch a few times.

Not as busy as the D lab?

M lab carries a heavy responsibility for human progress. How is that not busy?

"A-grade?" Yueyue weighed the work badge in her hand.

In the D lab, she had been a C-grade; in the M lab, she was surprisingly an A-grade.

"Any problem? A-grade is already the highest among the regular levels; going further up would be S-grade. This is the assessment made by several authoritative professors based on those SCI papers of yours. Since you are new here, promoting you too quickly might cause objections."

Yang Jingxian quickly explained, thinking she was unsatisfied.
