Lord of Mysterious Wizard-Chapter 262 - Extraordinary Creature Cooking Guide
Chapter 262 -262 Extraordinary Creature Cooking Guide
Three Curios given away for free and they all seemed to have quite the origin, Tang Qi’s eyes immediately swept over them.
The first one landed on that manuscript.
Last time Tang Qi discovered a manuscript-class Curio, he ended up getting “Ralph’s notebook,” which directly took Tang Qi’s combat ability to another level.
This time, he couldn’t help but look forward with anticipation.
Not too intense, but there seemed to be some special ghost light swirling around, generating the image.
[Curio: Extraordinary Creature Cooking Guide (First Edition).]
[State: Complete.]
[Information Fragment One: Compiled by a wizard passionate about “cooking,” it records his experience in cooking various Extraordinary Creatures, providing detailed processes from capture to slaughter, and even presentation, with everything described in detail except for the taste.]
[Information Fragment Two: Even though it deals with the Transcendent, it cannot change the fact that it is a “recipe,” no deciphering needed.]
…
Complex emotions surfaced once again.
Tang Qi indeed had the wild idea that he might obtain another wizard’s handbook and gain more High Order witchcraft, but he never expected to suddenly come upon a recipe book.
Suppressing the urge to flip open the first page, he turned his gaze to the kitchen knife.
Since there was a recipe book, it made perfect sense that a kitchen knife would appear.
[Curio: Delicious Assistant (Number 999).]
[State: Complete.]
[Information Fragment One: It’s the nine hundred and ninety-ninth kitchen knife used by that wizard, and very luckily, it is still undamaged; it’s incredibly sharp and can slice through most of the bodies of Extraordinary Creatures, including some ghostly Biological Entities, but it’s also fragile. If used as a weapon, it would quickly deteriorate.]
[Information Fragment Two: Don’t ask where the kitchen knives with previous numbers have gone.]
…
The “sharpness” mentioned in the information fragments of the exquisite kitchen knife Curio drew some of Tang Qi’s attention, and naturally, his first thought wasn’t to use it for cooking, but for Combat. Despite the downside of being easily damaged, if it truly was as sharp as described.
It could be hugely effective in many moments.
After muttering “nice item” to himself, Tang Qi’s gaze naturally fell on the other hand, which held a bowl of meat soup with unknown ingredients.
Unexpectedly, a stronger ghost light flickered than the previous two items.
[Curio: Delicious Meat Soup.]
[State: Unspoiled.]
[Information Fragment One: A bowl of meat soup cooked by that wizard. Despite the passage of time, due to some special characteristics within the soup and the effects of the Bag of Gluttony, it has not spoiled and remains edible; its recipe… unavailable.]
[Information Fragment Two: The meat soup is non-toxic, and after consumption, some positive effects can be obtained.]
[Information Fragment Three: Delicious Meat Soup, a name certified by the wizard himself.]
…
Surprised, Tang Qi found the soup was still steaming hot, and a marvelous scent began to spread throughout the living room. Not the rich fragrance of a normal meat soup, but another kind that made one’s mouth dry and stomach feel emptily aromatic.

He looked over the Information Fragments again, and the word “non-toxic” stood out prominently.
However, Tang Qi still had no intention of tasting the “delicious meat soup,” instead he went over to the workbench, set down the soup, and turned to open the “Extraordinary Creature Cooking Guide (First Edition).”
He quickly skimmed the first few pages and soon found the soup recipe on a certain page in the middle.
“Delicious Meat Soup: Meat from a Three-eyed Plate Sheep Young Beast, three Onion Dwarves, root bulb of strange fragrant grass, Minotaur Monster’s milk, Snow Mountain Water…”
“It doesn’t seem like there’s anything dangerous, does it?”
Tang Qi had read the formula several times and had also watched the mysterious wizard’s cooking process. Excluding the part where the cook boasted about his own skills, the process was standard and seemed safe.
His thoughts flickered to this point, and the desire in Tang Qi’s heart to taste it grew stronger.
However, he didn’t immediately take a sip.
Instead, he fetched a small bowl from the kitchen, ladled out some of the soup, and concentrated his thoughts.
The Night Beast, dutifully guarding Tang Qi’s collection, immediately appeared before him.
Upon arrival, it saw Tang Qi’s beaming face. Just as it began to feel wary, a small bowl of specially fragrant soup was brought to its mouth, along with a thought from Tang Qi,
“Little guy, this is a reward for you.”
Before it could think further, the Night Beast opened its mouth and gulped down the small bowl of soup.
Then, it saw its master, wearing an expression of inquiry and curiosity, waiting for its reaction.
The Night Beast had no time to ponder why this was happening as an indescribable feeling burst forth from its belly, spreading wildly. It felt as if it had consumed the most unpalatable “Dark Food” in history, a sensation distinct from devouring Light food.
Buzz!
The Night Beast dashed out.
Tang Qi watched as it turned into a shadow, bouncing around like a ball, without words conveying its feelings. When it finally stopped, steam hissed out, and the previously lively Night Beast now lay limp and listless on the ground.
Continuously coming to his mind were the little creature’s feeble complaints.
“So, it’s really a bowl of soup that’s tough to swallow but brings benefits.”
Tang Qi stroked his chin, weighing the pros and cons.
After seeing the reaction of the experimental subject, the soup seemed to increase strength, apparently permanently.
The only flaw was that it was unbearably unpalatable.
Tang Qi was contemplating whether to try it himself when out of the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of a sneaky figure — it was the Bag of Gluttony, which, unbeknownst to him, had left the corner and perched on the Night Beast’s huge body, its maw opening and closing towards Tang Qi.
It was as if it silently urged Tang Qi: Drink, drink it now.
Even the apparently paralyzed Night Beast was quietly looking at Tang Qi with an anticipatory gaze.
Caught by the looks of these two suddenly likeminded creatures, Tang Qi immediately snapped back to reality.
He walked straight over, grabbed the Bag of Gluttony that had not managed to escape, and despite its struggles, said “When I’m out of my mind, I may try the soup,” and then forced the remaining soup back into the Pocket Space.
With an experimental subject available, and not being one for novelty for its own sake, Tang Qi naturally wouldn’t drink a bowl of soup he knew was extremely unpalatable.
Of course, the real reason was that the increase in strength was not significant.
If a bowl of soup could have turned Tang Qi into a deity, it wouldn’t have mattered if it were unpalatable or disgusting; he would have downed it without hesitation.
That soup could, however, be used as a “Special Secret Medicine.”
Suddenly, Tang Qi took interest in that cookbook. If the dishes cooked according to its recipes all had similar effects, wouldn’t this be some sort of alternative school of Secret Medicine?
Without hesitation, he added “Research Extraordinary Creature Cooking Guide” to his schedule. Remembering something, Tang Qi turned and called over the Night Beast and Gluttony, who had started playing together, and assigned them a little task.
To eliminate a minor hidden danger, the temporary master of the Bag of Gluttony.
An evil young man tried to use the Bag of Gluttony to trap a Transcendent. He was waiting for the signal from Gluttony so he could collect the spoils.
Soon, he would wait no more.
“I’ve removed another hidden threat from Messer City. If Mayor Ross were still around, perhaps he should consider awarding me a Good Citizen Prize,”
Tang Qi muttered with a chuckle as he returned to his workbench.
