Book 3: Chapter 77: Return and Divine Thoughts

Item does exist on Altros.

The host has a little bit of understanding of the item and its creation. The order of being of the item is one above the host's own order of being. 200,000 base MP cost. 600,000 additional MP has been consumed to compensate for the lack of the host's knowledge. 800,000 additional MP has been consumed to compensate for the difference in order of being.

New novel chapters are published on freewёbn૦νeɭ.com.

1,600,000 MP has been consumed to create the item: [[Master Mezro'nan']s left index claw tip].

'Barely safe,' Lone thought as both the prince and Master Mezro'nan marvelled at the newly created claw tip. 'Thank fuck for Scott. With Beginner Booster I have a little over 1,700,000 MP, two-mil if you include Prince Keining's orb. So his order is higher than mine and it, what, doubled the cost of the base and understanding difference combined? Will it triple for an XX-ranker and quadruple for an XXX-ranker?'

Either way, this confirmed that Soph's eyes weren't of a higher order, they were just incredibly strange all on their own.

Lone slumped into his seat and said to the air next to him, "I'll take this and this," as he pointed to an exotic steak that cost one white-gold and a cold tea of some sort that was listed at 30 gold coins per glass. "By the way, you don't mind entering a contract, right? You can ask Peter what I mean if you're unsure."

The gnome waitress appeared and bowed respectfully. "The Durais Fel Rumdan Steak Meal and a glass of Untold Iced Tea. And I am already bound to secrecy. Exposing any secret of a client using privacy features will lead to my soul being removed from my body and tortured extensively for four centuries before being destroyed, preventing any chance to be revived or reborn, needless to mention the level of compensation you would receive for such an affront. I can verbally agree I won't expose anything that happens at your table, but I am not allowed to ent- Manager Peter has informed me you are more than welcome to bind me in a 'true contract' if it will give you some extra peace of mind."

Lone mentally sighed in relief. He was a pretty paranoid person at the best of times, and it was fine if Peter knew about Creation Magic. He seemed to know so much more and hadn't exposed anything yet, but nice as she was, the gnome at his side was just an SS-ranked employee at the end of the day.

Besides, if his unique skill can successfully bind an Arch Devil, then he really wouldn't trust anything else given, while not easy, regular secret enforcing methods could be bypassed.

Prince Keining wore a concerned look on his face as he stared at Master Mezro'nan's healed claw tip. "Did it work? I mean, clearly it did, but your MP... you're basically empty."

"Indeed," Master Mezro'nan added.

Lone cracked his next. "Order your food first," he said before he pulled out a bucket of blood, writing implements, and some paper, from his Dimensional Storage. "I need to write up a contract. I don't want to be distracted during that and make a mistake. Last thing I wanna do is waste my blood. So order, and while we wait for the food to arrive, I'll get this finished."

"That'sss a lot of blood," the X-ranked lizard pointed out.

"So you are a blood mage..." the XX-ranked prince muttered. "But what skill could you be using? A hybrid between blood magic and contract magic? Dangerous stuff..."

"No, it's not a hybrid. Don't mention something interesting. I need this to be fair and without mistakes, so shush, both of you," Lone replied.

Master Mezro'nan smiled and nodded while Prince Keining looked a bit offended at being shushed by someone so much weaker than him, but he held his tongue given the circumstances.

Thankfully, it had only taken a level one contract and all he needed to make it fair from his end was to assure Prince Keining he would help him with his wound when his Magic Power was high enough for the task, and that he'd make an effort to accomplish that.

Both the waitress and Master Mezro'nan didn't need any additional benefits as they both thought it was fair on its own for Lone to keep his secrets to himself. Lone had included in the contract that Prince Keining can't expose anything he knows about him that isn't already public, covering his ass for the conversation he had with the mn after they had fought a few of months ago.

Lone didn't know how much MP would be required to recreate part of an XX-ranker's being, but considering an X-ranker's claw tip doubled the combined base and lacking knowledge cost, he didn't want to risk it until he had at least 2,500,000 MP, which would then get doubled to 5,000,000 with Beginner Booster.

Right now, Lone was patting his full belly as he silently listened to Soph trying to converse with Kyuubi mentally, to great success. The two were still in The Summoning Room since Soph was supposed to be focusing on getting adjusted to her new stats after gaining 96 levels in one day.

Lone also thought it would be wise to just not summon Soph in a populated area going forward until they could find a solution to hide her massive Magic Power from those with passive sensors for such things.

Lone thought back to the new contract he'd just written up an hour ago and the names signed on it. 'It still surprises me that Master Mezro'nan has no surname. Guess he is a lizard though. Also, Prince Keining's first name is Seradon. What a weird but badass name. And of course, the gnome has a strange name like Hestina Tosgreros. I wonder if she'll be pissed if I call her Hestina in the future instead of 'hey', or, 'waitress'.'

He did still owe Master Mezro'nan a trip to Journey's End that included a drink similar to the one he got during their first visit. Lone just hadn't expected the cost of such things to be so... strange.

He shook his head. That was a worry for another time. 'I'm gonna sleep. It'll be a long day tomorrow if say, someone's reclaimed our home in the clan since we've been missing for two months, so keep in down, yeah?'

'Ah! It's been a while, huh? I'll, uh, focus on my stats a bit then sleep too. Night! I love you,' Soph replied sheepishly.

'I love you too. Both of you. One 'kyuu' for 'I love you as well',' Lone replied.

'Kyuu,' Kyuubi responded without even a morsel of hesitation, making Lone smile.

The next day, after having said goodbye to Hazel, her friends, and Master Mezro'nan, Soph teleported herself, Lone, and Breena back to the Crimson Foxkin Clan.

It only took about thirty seconds and a lot of teleports, but Lone could still feel the brilliantly vibrant sun that was Soph's mana shining as if it had barely been touched by the effort.

'She's at intermediate-level-ten with that skill at its cost went down from 50,000 MP per person to 40,000 MP per person. It'll likely go down to 30,000 MP per person at advanced rank, but still, 120,000 MP per teleport with the three of us and we teleported, what, 20 or so times? 2,400,000 MP is nothing to you now?' Lone wore a proud look on his face.

'You had a bit over 5,100,000 MP the last time I asked, now with all the levels from Lady Carnation, I wonder how close to ten-mil you are? And your Luck too...' Lone was incredibly happy that Sofia was so much stronger than him in these two aspects.

It meant that no matter how strong he got, she would never have a reason to feel inferior to him. Of course, he could just refuse to try to gain enlightenment and go on an endless killing spree to farm stat points. He'd likely eventually surpass her, but that was not something he wanted to do.

Ranking up had plenty of benefits, mostly aura focused, but he also had a clear path to a defined change in strength: the order of one's being. So there was a tangible benefit to not just killing constantly beyond simply considering his girlfriend's feelings.

'Gotta become an X-ranker as soon as I can. Mental Destruction's power will grow explosively then. I have a feeling it might change too, right? That skill has always grown with my rank, so maybe it'll grow with my order of being too,' Lone thought.

"It's clean," Breena muttered.

"Ribbit," a red frog the size of a house cat croaked from the ceiling where it was sitting upside-down as if gravity didn't exist.

It jumped down onto Lone's head and then jumped again before phasing through a wall towards the lake outside.

Lone frowned. "It can walk through walls? And it cleaned the house for us? Smart frog. You don't get squeezed today."

Soph giggled before her expression became very serious. "Lone, Gilbert is coming here with Matriarch Lossa, two While Dragonkin who feel stronger than Prince Keining, and a man leading the five of them who feels like Divine Tethered, but I can't be sure since I never physically met her."

Lone pursed his lips in thought. "If they're with Gilbert then... his great granddad? That's good news."

"He doesn't look happy," Soph noted.

"Maybe he has resting bitch face. Well, want me to handle this alone?" Lone asked.

Soph nodded. "That's probably the smart thing to do. I, uh, don't want my looks to interfere."

Lone thought that was fair. She could kill the weak X-ranker who was perving on her, but two possible XXX-rankers and a Divine was too much for either of them to handle. 'I don't expect this to go poorly, but it was a good idea to hole up for two months. Now we can fix it if something goes wrong. I'm surprised Gilbert's great grandfather came personally instead of summoning me to the White Dragonkin Clan if he was interested in helping us.'

"Unsummon Sofia Vladimirovich," Lone invoked, resulting in Soph disappearing into The Summoning Room.

He turned to Breena and smiled. "I'm gonna go wait in the lake gazebo for your grandmother and my guests. Want to answer the door to them and bring them to me? It'll be a cool experience, leading such powerful people to meet someone, and for me, it'll feel badass as fuck to be sitting sipping on something when they show up."

Breena flinched slightly. "Y-Yeah... Um, o-of course."

'That's a pretty tame reaction, all things considered,' Lone thought proudly.

Daragon Shimmerscales, or Divine Dragonsworn as he had renamed himself upon his ascension to immortality, was getting frustrated.

He had told his clan he would only stay in the abysmally weak and pathetic Crimson Foxkin Clan for a month at most, yet here he was, having lived in this sordid place for twice that length.

'This cursed racial skill,' the man thought. 'Not only is the emotional boy convinced this Golden Foxkin can heal me, but so is the puppet of this clan. How can I possibly leave without confirming such a thing for myself? The clan needs my presence for the coming Collection of Clans, though. I can, at most, afford to stay here for another three months, but what of my face when I return to my home?'

These kinds of thoughts had been plaguing his mind for weeks now. He was not petty enough to vent his frustrations of his estranged descendant nor on the clan who was hosting him. He had enough sense to avoid that at least, despite his internal injuries.

'I suppose it will just be another day of suppressing i- Hmm?' He swivelled his head in a certain direction. 'Two auras just appeared- no, three. That last one barely exists, but the other two... One has almost as much magic in it as mine does and the other is one of the toughest auras I've ever detected but it's... only B-ranked?'

Divine Dragonsworn flashed out of the residence he had been gifted upon his arrival with his older brother Timos appearing at his side. Not a moment later and his younger sister Orelia was present, having brought Guildmaster Elksworth and Matriarch Lossa with her.

Without saying a word, he swept all of them up in his Divine Aura. His great grandson and the constantly on-edge crimson foxkin couldn't resist, of course. Timos only resisted for a moment before accepting the aura while Orelia's resistance lasted a second longer before also disappearing.

'You've grown, younger sister,' Divine Dragonsworn thought before he began silently moving through the clan.

'Hmm?' His brow furrowed. 'The mana-filled aura detected me as soon as I got within 5,000 metres. How interestin- it disappeared? No matter. The one I need is still present.'

A couple of seconds later and he had arrived at the spirit pavillion that belonged to the Golden Foxkin known as Lone Immortus. It was hideously small and unfit to have the name 'spirit' in its title, but this wasn't his clan so it wasn't his place to make such comments publicly.

He still respected The Elders even if he had parted ways with them only a few short centuries ago. They weren't a match for his new allies, but still, they were his roots and they had not made any moves on his clan in retaliation for his departure, so respect them still he would despite their differences.

He retracted his Divine Aura and said, "Matriarch Lossa, we are guests in your clan and guests to this Lone Immortus. If you would, lead the way and perform the customary greeting traditions of your clan on our behalf."

The eight-traited beastkin bowed her head respectfully. "Of cour-"

She was interrupted by the door being opened.

Divine Dragonsworn gazed upon the small foxkin child who was dressed like a thief. 'Marred by Darkness but... what is this feeling... She's... not corrupted? She yet grows because she had not reached adulthood, but she won't age and die like the matriarch and my foolish descendant here. What secrets do you hold? This is different from the supposed healing those two experienced...'

He felt an urge to kidnap this teenager and experiment on her to find out everything that she might be hiding. Perhaps what could be learned would aid the clan in some way.

"It was a Djinn's wish," the girl answered his mental questions, shocking him and putting him immediately on guard. "Master Lone assumed you could see through my situation, so he told me to tell you that. He's waiting on the lake. Please, follow me."

'Well, she's telling the truth. That's disappointing. Quite an insightful man. He's less than a century old, no?' Divine Dragonsworn praised internally.

Matriarch Lossa looked momentarily lost. "Master...?" she muttered before shaking her head and smiling. "Of course. Please lead the way, young Sarah."

'Sarah? What a hideous name,' Divine Dragonsworn cursed in thought.

Regardless of his gripes with the name, a minute later, the five of them had been escorted to a quaint but rather plain in his eyes gazebo that was centred in the heart of the pavilion's attached lake.

Sitting at a large round glass table sipping some plain-smelling tea was a handsome young man with nine tails, all marred by four different colours.

'He is touched by Void but entirely sane, just as the Crimson Foxkin Clan reported. How amazing,' Divine Dragonsworn though in pure awe.

He'd never seen anything capable of surviving the assimilation process of becoming void-touched before. an Avatar of a magic school retaining their mind after the process? Sure, that was possible, as it was with many other avatar types, even Primals in some very rare cases, but awakening to void? That was a guaranteed death sentence of one's being for all. At least until now.

"It's great to see your again, Lone Immortus," Matriarch Lossa said in a friendly tone. "I'm here today presenting Divine Dragonsworn, his two trusted advisors Timos Shimmerscales and Orelia Shimmerscales, as well as Guildmaster Elksworth. May we take a seat?"

Divine Dragonsworn was carefully judging the man's reaction but he did also notice that Matriarch Lossa seemed to be distracted by the child dressed like she was ready to commit petty crimes.

Lone Immortus nodded. "It's my good fortune to meet and converse with not one Divine, but two in the span of as many days. Please, be my guest. Sit, get comfortable. I assume we have a lot to talk about."

'... He isn't lying. What? Who did he meet yesterday?' Divine Dragonsworn couldn't help but frown. This made his position weaker until he knew more. 'He knows that. Young but sly... He's used to dealing with those much, much, more powerful than himself... Hmm... How to deal with this...'
