Legendary Traveler: By Earning Progress Points I will Become Supreme!-Chapter 288: School Life Begins (4)
"Are you good with them knowing your info? Like I know you have ways around it that even I can't fathom, but it still worries me." Moving his hands away from the keyboard and staring directly at the camera, Archie asked with a look of worry.
"It's not like I really have any other choice, I'm not strong enough to have a Sub-Flume yet, so I'd have to disconnect my territory from the Family Flume, which is a hard pass. It'll be fine."
'I think…'
Indeed, the Host has nothing to worry about; alternative coordinates have already been generated, no one will be the wiser, especially since a location similar to Erula has been designated
'Similar how?'
…
Big mountain in the snow
'Oh, cool,'
The Host needn't worry, though, the territory was formerly used by a Low-Tier Lord that got wiped out by a catastrophic beast tide, so if anyone goes there, odds are they won't find much apart from faint Ice Energia in the air
"I'll have to take your word on it, especially since I have no idea how you can fool all the testing machines, I mean, when we tested you, it gave two completely different readings…" Shrugging his shoulders in defeat, Archie refused to dwell on the freak of nature that was his baby brother and instead changed the topic of conversation for a bit before ending the call.
---
Now alone in his quiet dorm, and a full three days before he needed to report to class for the first time, Aoni took it upon himself to start setting up some formations around his room.
Noise Dampeners, Energia Enrichers, security protocols, he went full Autistic in turning this quaint dorm into a full-on fortress. After all, the last thing he wanted to do was have someone spying on him or monitoring his every move.
During this time, he also found more than a dozen recording devices hidden in the walls, on the ceiling, and under the carpet, all of which were doctored by his Attribute Notice for a small fee.
---
"I guess that does it then," stretching lazily, Aoni made his way to the fridge, and got a can of soda before posting up on the couch with a blanket to binge watch some anime…but that was when he remembered a promise he'd made to a certain floof, spurring him into shooting a text to Archie for some recording crystals containing different child friendly anime and cartoons.
"Char really spoils my summons," he grumbled upon reading the confirmation response from Archie.
"Well, that's done, and I'm here…this is too surreal." Thinking back to the last almost year he'd spent on Genovia, where things were fast paced and a goal was always being worked toward, Aoni couldn't help but feel he was being lazy…and the feeling didn't sit well with him.
"I could build a model or something, but I'm not really in the mood to…and there is zero chance I do any studying…all the first year shit is too basic for me. WHY THE FUCK DID I SIGN UP FOR THIS SHIT!"
"UGHHH, you did it for your family, Aoni, for your family," Smacking his cheeks and lying on the couch, he stared up at the ceiling while feeling lost for the first time in a long time.
"If it weren't for the mundane's in the family, I could have easily dragged everyone else into my territory and started a life there, but now I am locked into doing useless shit all to keep up a façade I hate," Aoni said aloud while draping his forearm over his eyes.
"In a few years, Cammy might awaken, but even then, Mom, Archie, and Cathy are forever bound to Terra… hey, is there a way for me to Awaken mundanes, like a special resource or something?" Aoni asked without imagining he'd receive an answer.
…
In theory
"WHAT?" Sitting up with such speed, his hair flapped around, and Aoni squeaked.
Through Progress, nothing is impossible, even doing things which were once believed to be so
" I know that, I've seen that, and live it every day, but I want an ACTUAL method to do it." Suddenly getting serious, a glint flashed through Aoni's eyes as a whole new world was right before him, waiting to reach out and grab it.
Answer: 25,000,000 Progress Points
"…"
…
"So there is a way, but you've locked it behind a pay wall."
Answer: 1000 Progress Points
"Do it," Aoni demanded with a tone he'd only recently acquired thanks to being the Lord of almost 50 subjects.
Yes, it is possible; however, the Current Host shouldn't even consider this means as an immediate thing, due to the fact that they have a long way to go before it will be possible
"How far in the future?"
Answer: 1000 Progress Points
*GLAREEEE*
The Host will need to reach the bare minimum, Grade-7
"Tssss," reading this, Aoni sucked in a sharp breath. That was a whole three Stars away from his current Grade, and with how hard it was becoming to fill his new stars, a safe estimate would be five to 10 years from now…and that's being generous and cocky.
For a moment, Aoni fell into a contemplative silence before breaking into a wild grin.
"So the ability I will unlock at 7-Stars is something that allows me to Awaken Mundanes into Travelers, good to know. So far, I've gotten the ability to Add Points, the Crafter's display, an Inspection Display, and, most recently, a rather lackluster yet very useful ability, enhanced brain function.
Basically, upon earning his fourth Star, Aoni obtained a photographic memory, which allowed him not only to memorize and catalogue nearly every book received from the ruins but also increased his thinking, calculation speeds, and deductive reasoning.
Meaning, the dumb dumb was not so dumb if he didn't want to be. But then again, if all you consume is garbage, you'll eventually become obese; the same could be said for Aoni's brain.
Right now, the only saving grace he had in play was that a good chunk of the books he'd gone through involved military and governance tactics. Otherwise, if he were to say, consume a shit ton of manga or something of that nature…well, 8th grader syndrome would strike harder than puberty.
