Legendary FBI Detective-Chapter 205: Case Closed and Microsoft
"Thanks to the operation plan you created, Luo An."
Red's throat went dry as he looked at the primer caps and other items on the ground, his heart still pounding with lingering fear.
Had they followed the usual tactics, using plastic explosives to blow up the warehouse doors and then storming in to arrest the suspects,
there could have been a mistake anywhere in the process, giving Wilkin and his gang the chance to detonate a bomb...
It's a minor issue if the mission fails; the real problem would be if any of them had to go to Heaven for a chat with God.
The SWAT team members standing nearby thought of this as well, and their respect for Luo An deepened.
"I've called the trace evidence team to handle these things."
Seeing Red and a few SWAT team members with their parched throats, Luo An chuckled and took out his phone to call the trace evidence team.
Before long, the trace evidence agents arrived.
During this period, Luo An and Red thoroughly inspected the depths of the warehouse and discovered a floor plan of a bank as well as information about the bank's surveillance setup.
Clearly, Wilkin-Brooke and their gang intended to rob a bank.
Unfortunately for them, the bank they had set their sights on was one of the six in a series of consecutive bank robberies.
As the bank's security consultant, Luo An had already helped them upgrade their security and surveillance systems.
But Wilkin-Brooke and their crew were unaware of this, as the surveillance cameras recorded on their blueprints were all the ones that Luo An had intentionally left visible.
If Wilkin-Brooke really decided to rob that bank with the plan they had in place...
Red grinned, gave Luo An a thumbs up with his right hand.
After the trace evidence team had thoroughly processed the scene, Luo An called Augustus on his way back.

After listening to Luo An's account, Augustus burst into hearty laughter over the phone and lavished praise on Luo An, then rose from his seat in Unit Five and strode to Special Agent in Charge Kobert's office.
An up-and-coming politician had died in this case, burned alive with a Molotov cocktail.
Given such a cruel method of death, the case had escalated significantly, with New York's media vultures already hounding the FBI and Kobert frequently inquiring about the investigation; even the Mayor of New York City had previously called Augustus.
Now that the case was solved and the culprit had been successfully captured by Luo An, the pressure on Augustus's shoulders was lifted, and so his broad black face was now filled with smiles, even revealing his molars in front of Kobert.
Kobert: "..."
——
Unit Five, office area.
Luo An pushed open the door and walked in, immediately causing a stir.
They had all heard from William, the most well-informed among them, about how Luo An had devised a plan and led the SWAT team to successfully capture the target without firing a single shot.
While not a first in FBI history, such an event was exceedingly rare.
"Folks!"
William held up the coffee mug from his desk and shouted with a beaming smile:
"Here's to our Agent Luo An Greenwood!"
Upon hearing this, Reesi and several technical agents laughed and raised the coffee mugs from their desks in unison:
"Hahaha..."
"Here's to Agent Luo An!"
Accepting a mug of coffee from the grinning Mona, Luo An raised his cup to the other agents and took a sip, saying:
"William, I really like the speed at which you get your news."
"So next time you hear about this kind of thing, how about we replace the coffee in the No. 5 Investigation Team with beer?"
The No. 5 Investigation Team's office area burst into laughter, William's face still smiling but he waved his hands repeatedly:
"Forget it, Augustus would probably kill me!"
Beside him, Reesi heard this and chuckled mischievously:
"William, you haven't tried it, what if Augustus also likes this kind of celebration?"
Hearing this, William couldn't help but roll his eyes, and a jovial atmosphere spread throughout the No. 5 Investigation Team.
Augustus hadn't returned yet, and without anyone urging them, the agents of the No. 5 Investigation Team started chattering away, including some teasing directed at Luo An.
Luo An didn't mind, he wasn't that fragile, and besides, this was how the federal people expressed humor, one just had to get used to it.
And once he got used to it, Luo An also learned to tease back.
Over two hours passed, Augustus returned to the No. 5 Investigation Team with a spring in his step, praising Luo An for quite some time, and then directed the agents to deal with the follow-up for this case.
This time, the interrogation of Willkin Brook was handled by Reesi and Mona, after all, the human witness, Connor Trunner, was now in their hands, and the several Molotov cocktails as physical evidence were also found in that warehouse alongside the rifles.
With both the human and physical evidence in hand, the interrogation was just a formality and there was no need for Luo An to intervene.
So as usual, the agents of the No. 5 Investigation Team worked on their documents or wrote their reports, everyone hunkered down at work.
Only Luo An was spinning in his chair, fiddling with the computer, chatting, and sharing experiences with a bunch of people on an online forum.
Since Saturday and Sunday were overtime days, by the end of work today, Augustus announced loudly that overtime pay would be issued next week along with the agents' salaries.
William and others, although smiling and clapping at this news, were not particularly happy in their hearts.
After all, they were native federal people, and although overtime meant extra pay, they still preferred to rest with their families over the weekend.
But Mona and Luo An were very happy to hear this news.
Luo An's reason for happiness goes without saying, while Mona was happy because she was still somewhat poor and the overtime pay could alleviate some of her stress.
The next day, Tuesday.
While others continued to clock in on time, Luo An called Augustus to request time off, then leisurely drove towards Wall Street.
In the eyes of the federal wealthy, US dollars left idle would only depreciate, so the best approach was to invest them and let the money grow.
However, investment comes with risks. Whether the money thrown out yields a huge profit or a total loss is hard to determine, thus the occupation of stockbrokers on Wall Street came into being, ready to... assist these wealthy individuals in distinguishing stocks, helping them to increase their wealth.
But Luo An didn't need a stockbroker's help. First, he knew the ways and processes of stock purchasing, and second, he didn't need a stockbroker to help him distinguish which stocks were worthless and which were valuable.
In his later life, the big companies on Wall Street were household names. With $1.35 million in hand, after some thought, he once again spent $1.2 million to purchase stocks.
Following the logic of not putting all eggs in one basket, this time Luo An didn't buy Apple Company stocks, but those of another big company:
Microsoft.
At this point in 2005, Microsoft's stock price fluctuated between $15 and $25.
But in the future year of 2021, Microsoft's stock had risen to around $230.
With such a huge surge, Luo An, who aimed to earn his first hundred million, naturally chose them to help make money for him.
After dealing with stocks, he glanced at those who were rushing and busy at work, then Luo An turned and slowly left the building.
After buying a dozen or so packages of specialty snacks from a stand next to Wall Street, Luo An drove leisurely back to the Jacob Federation Building.
"Good afternoon, guys."
Pushing open the door to the No. 5 Investigation Team's office area, Luo An called out loudly:
"I brought you guys some snacks."
