When Yulia knocked down Lev, Vigorous Kui paused for a moment.
It really was just a moment.
He had already started the crawler, preparing to escape.
But seeing Lev’s situation, he couldn’t help but stop for an instant.
Then, Xiang Shan saw a bunch of strange color blocks suddenly appear in what had been a normal scene.
Xiang Shan hadn’t noticed Vigorous Kui at first.
But by this time, Vigorous Kui’s drive was almost scrapped, and he couldn’t spare the computational power to maintain his optical camouflage.
Vigorous Kui wasn’t far from Lev to begin with.
So Xiang Shan leaped over.
A kick descended from the sky.
With a “clang,” Vigorous Kui’s external armor actually emitted a dull thud.
Though Vigorous Kui was considered a Martial Artist, his External Martial Arts were terribly weak, not even remotely comparable to his internal training.
He had also always partnered with Lev or another Martial Artist, rarely engaging in close-quarters combat.
As such, apart from the optical camouflage, the strength of his external armor couldn’t compare with Lev’s.
Xiang Shan’s heel smashed down onto Vigorous Kui’s back.
Impacted by the force, the optical camouflage flickered with various colors like ripples on water.
A peculiar shape appeared in Xiang Shan’s field of vision.
The shape of the enemy resembled a turtle—lying prone on the ground.
The overall shell was smooth and had done away with limbs; instead, where one would expect limbs, there were four sections of relatively independent crawlers, all covered by external optical camouflage.
Additionally, it seemed that the inner side of the crawlers had vacuum cleaners that could suck up the dust raised by the tracks, minimizing traces of movement to the greatest extent.
Using the force of that impact to pivot, Xiang Shan then landed.
As he touched down, Vigorous Kui’s right lateral abdominal armor opened, ejecting a row of gun barrels.
To keep them concealed, these weapons were all retracted within the optical camouflage.
As the optical camouflage armor opened, Xiang Shan twisted his legs to adjust his center of gravity, using his back to slam against the ground.
A row of bullets grazed his skull and missed.
However, Xiang Shan didn’t stand up but instead pressed his back against the ground, furiously kicking upwards with his legs.
This was just one “kick,” a single movement, but millions of artificial muscle fibers and tens of thousands of discharge units were working in sync.
Countless electrons traversed conductors at the speed of light, transporting energy, and then tens of thousands of dischargers and millions of artificial muscle fibers began to move.
From one component to another.
Power coursed through the prosthetic body, with countless parts colliding and stacking atop each other.
True force was fully deployed.
The strength of the gun barrels was even slightly higher than that of the Martial Artist Prosthesis’ external armor.
But the problem was, not every part that came into contact with the gun barrels had such strength.
Amidst the roar, the firearms that Vigorous Kui exposed were instantly destroyed by a blow.
There were no scattered parts, as Xiang Shan’s kick had directly shoved all the scrap metal into the opening of that armor.
Alarms and error warnings instantly flooded Vigorous Kui’s vision.
Vigorous Kui howled like a wounded beast.
Gears turned as he tried to turn around, aiming to engage Xiang Shan with front-facing weapons.
But by the time he managed to turn, Xiang Shan had already rushed back to Lev’s side.
The two battlefields were only twenty to thirty meters apart.
For a Martial Artist, this distance took less than a second.
At this point, Lev had just managed to get up.
Seeing Xiang Shan already charging in front of him, Lev assumed his final fighting stance.
He knew there was no escape for him.
So, with his natural face, he squeezed out the last expression of his life.
A sneer.
——The boss will avenge me…
Fists crossed forward, but they couldn’t stop Xiang Shan.
Xiang Shan swiftly went around under Lev’s crotch, using a Kicking Strike to Lev’s knee to leap up, passing over Lev’s shoulder, and only then did Xiang Shan deliver a heavy kick to Lev’s forehead, before spinning in mid-air, puncturing the skull with a stomp.
Only then did Vigorous Kui realize that what he should have done was not to “fight desperately,” but to “flee for his life.”
The tracks kicked up a great cloud of dust.
But by that time, Xiang Shan had already landed on Vigorous Kui, subsequently striking the breach left by the disabled firearms with a Kicking Strike.
In the distant past, on the savannahs of Africa, an animal from the Hyaenidae family known as the hyena preyed on the African buffalo.
Spotted hyenas typically weigh around fifty kilograms, while the buffalo usually weigh well over half a ton.
Nonetheless, under these conditions, hyenas could still successfully hunt buffalo.
Hyenas knew how to dig out the prey’s viscera through the excretory opening.
Xiang Shan’s takedown of Vigorous Kui was much like a hyena hunting a buffalo.
A leg thrust deep into the unprotected section of the armor, avoiding the hard-to-penetrate main structure, targeting the weakest electronic components.
Vigorous Kui couldn’t even escape a hundred meters before he completely lost power.
Inertia carried him into a nearby house.
It seemed like the fuel inside Vigorous Kui had leaked and caught fire.
With a bang, a flame a meter high suddenly burst forth.
At first, Xiang Shan instinctively flinched, but soon realized that he didn’t feel pain on his surface, and such a small flame wouldn’t cause much harm to his mechanical body.
But Xiang Shan still jumped away.
His prosthetic body had a heat dissipation problem to begin with; standing in a high-temperature environment would still affect his combat effectiveness.
The last Martial Artist on the field, the one with the blade, was still left.
Looking at Xiang Shan rushing toward him, Ronconi froze.
He was still in a daze.
His biological brain couldn’t process so many things at once.
Why was that giant man so strong?
Why had Paulus joined the thugs?
Why did that giant man suddenly want Paulus to join the assault?
Why did that invincible giant die?
Why did Paulus die too?
Who was that last enemy who jumped out?
“Hahahaha…
I don’t understand at all!” Ronconi screamed: “It’s not real!
It’s an illusion!
I must have fallen into an immersive experience…
Hahahaha!
This experience is too real!
Hahahaha!
This new game!”
The remaining three knives intersected and slashed toward Xiang Shan, blooming like a silver flower.
“All flash and no substance.”
“`
As such thoughts flickered through Xiang Shan’s mind, his legs were already delivering a rapid succession of kicks, targeting the opponent’s head, chest, and hands.
Then came the kicking strikes, imbued with powerful internal force, that hammered into Ronconi’s chest.
The first blow loosened two screws; the second shook loose another two.
The third strike hit the center of the armor plate.
The force of the impact shook the screws loose through the vibrations in the armor plate and ejected them.
An armor plate flew directly into the air.
——What the heck, this experience is way too surreal, right?
Since when can a Martial Artist do stuff like this hahahahahaha…
It was followed by a strike that destroyed the internal structure.
Ronconi’s arms fell limply to his sides, with only a single knife on his back continuing to fight back.
The next kick sent the knife flying and then smashed into Ronconi’s neck.
This was repeated several times.
A few screws were propelled into the air.
The Town Mayor suddenly held his breath.
He realized what Xiang Shan was about to do.
The old man let out a huge scream, “No!
Don’t kill…”
But Xiang Shan had already kicked the unprotected head to pieces.
Fear.
A kind of fear that came from the depths of his heart overwhelmed the Town Mayor.
Not just him, but the other villagers, too.
Xiang Shan looked around, bewildered by the sorcery-like scene, completely clueless as to what had happened.
He had merely killed an enemy, but for some reason, all the residents were acting as though they were having a PTSD episode, falling into a strange state.
“Why did you do that…
You killed him!
You killed him!
You shouldn’t have…”
The Town Mayor rushed over, seemingly wanting to say something.
But halfway there, he just fainted.
The balance system built into his drive steadied his body, preventing him from falling to the ground.
But still…
He had no idea what had happened.
Xiang Shan looked around in confusion, not understanding why.
In his mind, after a Hero killed an enemy, the ordinary people nearby would either cheer or, in fear, ask the Hero to leave quickly so as not to involve themselves—both scenarios were common in novels, and he should have experienced them himself.
But these collective hysteria-like actions…
what was going on?
………………………………
Vigorous Kui was facing the final moments of his life.
His drive chip was already on the verge of being scrapped due to overheating, and now, engulfed in flames, there was no chance of survival.
He could no longer control his body.
In the moment of death, he forgot fear, and his mind was filled with calm.
To die here was all too normal.
After all, his own ordinary Inner Strength, compared to the collective wisdom of humanity and the Divine Skills in the hands of the masters, was nothing at all.
Inner Strength could be broadly categorized from the bottom up into the realm of command, Linguistic Realm, Compilation Realm, Assembly Realm, Mechanical Realm, and the legendary Mathematical Realm.
But beyond legends, there are more legends.
True hackers understand how to erase their traces online.
Apart from what they wish to be known, people are ignorant of them.
Hence, the more top-tier the Internal Strength Master, the more concealed they are.
Even those who know their names dare not call out their monikers carelessly, fearing the triggering of keyword monitoring.
Those few top-tier programmers are only known through mythological and fantastical stories.
Legend has it that above the Mathematical Realm is another realm…
Maybe it can’t be called a “realm”?
Is it just a title?
That elusive supreme figure, known as “Turing.”
Some say Turing is a moniker for a top-tier Internal Strength Master.
Others believe it is a nickname only a few can possess.
There are also those who adamantly claim that it’s a group.
Of course, some believe it’s a realm.
He had no idea how the enemy had counteracted his Inner Strength.
But he was certain that this technique was far beyond the Linguistic Realm he occupied, and even the Compilation Realm wasn’t capable of this feat.
For some reason, he had a feeling.
This was wisdom pointing towards “Turing.”
There was no reason, just instinct.
But as he faced the end of his life, he smiled.
“To witness Turing, I, the disciple, die without regret…”
