I didn’t know if I should take you to the hospital or police because I have no idea what kind of trouble you are in."

The collar around Han Rui’s neck had an electric lock that had been fried by the EMP when she was dealing with the car. She opened it with ease and then undid the locks around his wrists and feet.

Then she leaned back in the chair and looked at him. "Do you want some water?"

She had a bottle in the car and handed it to him. His wrists were red and he was trembling as he took the bottle from her. He maintained the wary look in his eyes as he looked at her while sniffing the water like a dog sniffing for drugs.

"It is not drugged." Mei Mei told him lazily. She could understand his hesitation, she would be the same way if she she had been kidnapped, tied up and woken up in a stranger’s car.

In fact he was calmer than she would have been because she would be screaming bloody murder and kicking all the doors and windows with all her might. She tilted her head, wondering if perhaps Han Rui was kidnapped because he was an idiot with zero survival instincts.

He was very defensive, he snatched the phone out of her hands like a street cat snatching a morsel of meat anxiously and quickly before running off. She pretended not to eavesdrop as he talked to his mother and told her that he was with Jun Meilin and if anything happened to him, she should report to the police.

"Tch!" Mei Mei rolled her eyes.

She was not very surprised to see him recognize who she was, after all, her face had been plastered all over the news and internet ever since Mo Liang re turned. She was however surprised when he told his mother to call the police and give her up if anything happened to him.
