Chapter 134: A human!

For two hours, Mei Mei followed the car to the boundary between the capital and B city. Just as toll gates separated other cities on the ground, floating toll gates separated them in the air. The gates in the air were anchored to the ground to the ground by chains which were embedded with gravitational stabilizers.

After paying the toll fee, Mei Mei continued to follow them until they reached a private residence. She was in luck because the security was as lax over there as the one where she lived. They did not ask a question and waved her through.

The security guard did not even raise his head once to have a look at her or ask for an identification card. He was too engrossed in the virtual reality game he was playing.

The car Mei Mei followed parked outside a villa and three men got out and entered the house. Mei Mei parked a distance away and put on her invisible suit. Then, she got out of her car through an open window and walked to the house.

Looking around, she noticed that there was no one around, just a sleeping dog. The villa was isolated, it was the in the residential area and the owner had built trees around for privacy. This worked out well for her because she accessed the car with ease.

Her heart was beating wildly, she was worried that the men would return at any moment and find her. She knew she needed to hurry.

She still had the EMP she had bought from the system and Mei Mei used it to disarm the alarm of the car and get past all of its security measures. C4 had said that what she needed was in the trunk so she opened it quickly.

Mei Mei had guessed what she would find in the trunk of the car and she had taken many guesses like money, a gadget, stolen antique, gold, diamonds, even a USB containing some kind of information. What she found was a human and a human had not been on her list!

It was a young man in his early twenties, his hands and feet were bound. There was a black collar around his neck and bruises on his arm. How the cameras at the city toll gate had missed him when they scanned the vehicle was a puzzle to Mei Mei. Was this a case of human trafficking?

"System." She whispered in a hiss. "What do I do?"

"Leave it to me." It answered.

Before she could even blink twice, a light poured out of her eyes, scanned everything in the trunk of the car and all of it disappeared.

"Now hurry back to the car and leave." It told her.

Questions could be asked later, she figured. To be on the safe side and confuse the men that she had seen earlier, she threw a brick of C4 into the trunk. It was rigged to explode thirty seconds after she was gone.

She jumped back into her car through the window and left the residential area. As her car was exiting the gate, she heard the sound of explosion. Mei Mei continued flying and she only stopped when she was safely back in the capital city.

C4 had just the appearance of the car when he gave her the mission. He changed it again when she entered the city. The changes were so quick that no body noticed what had happened. The cameras in other vehicles did not register the change.

"It is truly worthy of being a car I bought with points." Mei Mei said to herself.

"Don’t worry, I am the mighty C4. I already hacked into the intercity transportation database and erased all records of your entrance into B city. Everywhere that you passed with cameras, I erased traces of you. I also gave you a perfect disguise. Even if humans saw you, they will not know that they saw Jun Meilin."

Mei Mei looked at the perfect disguise that C4 had given her. A perfect face mask, brown hair and big boobs or triple D’s as C4 had called them.

"Were you trying to draw more or less attention to me?" She asked C4.

"You don’t know the rules of disguises but I do." C4 replied. "Everyone would be too busy looking at your boobs that they would hardly recall your fake face." It replied.

Mei Mei parked the car in front of her house but she did not go out. She needed to figure out what to do about the human first.

"Alright, alright, you know better than everyone. Tell me, who is this and why did I have to rescue him? Why didn’t you let me call the police?"

"I never said that the thing you needed to retrieve was the human." C4 answered. At the same time, it released all the contents of the trunk.

Everything that was in the trunk had been brought including tools, a gym bag, empty candy wrappers and two bloody golf clubs. Not to forget the human!

"Open the gym bag." C4 told her.

She opened the gym bag, wrinkling her nose when the smell of a stinking pair of socks wafted to her nostrils. Aside from the stinking socks, there were damp sweat drenched clothes and a black mesh jock strap with a few visible pubic hairs sticking out obviously.

"I am not touching these disgusting things with my hands." She declared with disgust on her face. She spent one point to buy a pair of gloves from the system and then she fished through the bag throwing the rest of the contents in the back seat which was unfortunate for the human she had rescued because they ended up on his face.

She retrieved a long cylindrical shaped tube that was wrapped paper like a gift. She assumed so because there was a ribbon tied around it. novelbuddy.cσ๓

Impatiently, she ripped off the gift paper and opened the cylindrical tube. Then she shook it and something fell out.

"Is it a painting?" she asked. It looked like a painting.

She unrolled it and revealed a missing royal relic, one of the things that the emperor had asked Chi Lian to find. It was the scroll of heaven’s mandate. Mei Mei knew it was because she had seen it once, nineteen years ago on the birthday of the former emperor.

It had been kept behind a glass and no one was allowed to touch the glass. They could only see and take pictures of it from a distance. Before the birthday ended, around twenty armed royal agents had escorted the overseer of the royal treasury who carried it back into the vault.

It was seen in public ten years later in the royal museum where it had been on display to the public. It was taken on a ten month tour around the empire and again returned to the royal vault.

"You made me do all this just to retrieve a forgery of the scroll of heavens mandate?" She sneered. "In antique markets and souvenir markets, they sell thousands of these every year."

"Who says that it is a forgery?" C4 asked her. "Even if your eyes are sick, mine are not."
